AP:WASHINGTON - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi shut the door Thursday to a resolution honoring Michael Jackson because debate on the symbolic measure could raise “contrary views” about the pop star’s life.Lawmakers are free to use House speeches “to express their sympathy or their praise any time that they wish,” said Pelosi, D-Calif. “I don’t think it’s necessary for us to have a resolution.”A resolution sponsored by Rep.

I met my wife because of the CIA. They funneled money and guns to an egomaniacal dictatorial tyrant in a malicious attempt to “democratize” Latin America by force, overriding the actual democratic voice which elected Salvador Allende, and tortured her father before inviting them to live in the United States as political exiles. But that debt to them being my own personal one, they are a danger not only to foreign governments but to our own. And the shield that President Obama is attempting to

If anything what I am about to write is incredibly obvious, so on-the-nose it’s a commentary any person with even a modicum of common sense can easily make. Still, it’s all about catharsis for me. When I read about politics, let’s say big time Washington politics, all I can do is sit in awe of how badly shafted we as citizens get when it comes to those persons who are elected to represent us. This is not about party affiliation. This is about ineptitude on a massive scale.

This is going to be a full-blown witch hunt meant to clear Pelosi’s name, while gutting Central Intelligence at the same time. Even worse, the CIA has been running a covert program launched after 9/11 that Congress was not privy to, Panetta threw the Agency under the bus on that one as well and now the Dems smell blood in the water…. Democrats on the House Intelligence panel are calling for a full-scale investigation into allegations that the Central Intelligence Agency misled Congress multiple times over the past eight years.

By Dave Lindorff If this were the democracy that the Founding Fathers thought they were creating, word from CIA Director Leon Panetta that his agency had lied to Congress and specifically that it had lied repeatedly from 9-11-2001 through the end of 2008 concerning an as-yet undisclosed secret program, would have virtually every member of Congress in a state of rebellion, demanding answers.

Those of us who spend a lot of time reading multiple news sources daily knew the CIA was being less than truthful with people like the Speaker of the House quite some time ago. We got confirmation of this in the national media over the past couple of days. The Huffington Post is offering an interesting perspective on all this. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/09/was-the-cia-hiding-cheney_n_228864.html The revelation from seven Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee that they were misled about a critical CIA program has sparked a debate that touches on the most sensitive areas of national security policy.

From the Wall Street Journal : As political spectacles go, one would be hard pressed to find anything as ridiculous as the Washington Romper Room now starring Congressional Democrats and the CIA. If only the consequences weren’t potentially so damaging for national security. The latest episode comes courtesy of Silvestre Reyes, Chairman of the House Select Committee on Intelligence. In a letter leaked to the press on Wednesday, he claims the agency “misled” Congress about its activities after 9/11.

Obviously, Pelosi has drug induced amentia and has learned nothing from her previous loss while attempting to battle the CIA. Yeah, let’s see what happens when the Wraith and her buddies foolishly take on the CIA, yet again. I wonder who will lose that battle… Didn’t Albert Einstein once say that insanity was doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result? About that CIA ‘Lie’ House Democrats play politics with national security to protect Pelosi.

taken from Yahoo News, July 10, 09 WASHINGTON – CIA Director Leon Panetta has terminated a “very serious” covert program the spy agency kept secret from Congress for eight years, Rep. Jan Schakowsky, a House Intelligence subcommittee chairwoman, said Friday. Schakowsky is pressing for an immediate committee investigation of the classified program, which has not been described publicly. Rep. Silvestre Reyes, D-Texas, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, has said he is considering an investigation.

Unreal. A program that went on for 8 years that withhled information and flat out lied. Kudos to Panetta for ending that ridiculous thing. Kind of makes me wonder how many Americans died because the previous administration pulled this kind of garbage. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/…FpiHAD99BMNVG2 WASHINGTON (AP) CIA Director Leon Panetta has terminated a “very serious” covert program the spy agency kept secret from Congress for eight years, Rep.

Watching the hot potato of intelligence abuses get tossed from the CIA to the Democrats to the Republicans and back is a hoot for anyone who has monitored intelligence agency abuses and political repression. Abuse and repression happens in both Republican and Democratic Administrations, and the CIA has lied to the elected politicians in charge of “oversight” since it was founded. What is really happening here is that nobody wants to be caught holding the hot potato when it squishes into a mealy cold mess and soils their carefully-crafted public image.

By Jason Leopold The history of the CIA is replete with examples of agency officials obscuring key details when telling members of Congress about controversial programs. In the 1980s, CIA Director William Casey was famous for mumbling over such points and gruffly reacting when asked to repeat himself. Other times, the CIA’s official briefing records have clashed with the contemporaneous notes of congressional participants.

Sam Stein in the Huffington Post, here ” ….. But the dates don’t line up. In their letter, the lawmakers note that members of Congress were “misled” for “a number of years, from 2001 to this week.” Pelosi, however, contended that the CIA lied to her about the use of harsh interrogation techniques during the fall of 2002. And in a conversation with the Huffington Post, Rep. Anna Eshoo, (D-Calif.), one of the letter’s signatories, said that Panetta “stopped the program the day after he was informed.” Waterboarding was ended as a practice during the Bush years.

Opinion Journal: … Mr. Panetta must feel burned. After the Pelosi blow-up, he has tried to repair relations with his own party’s Congressional leaders, and last month he reached out to the Intelligence Committee. On June 24, in a classified hearing, Mr. Panetta produced so-called new information about CIA counterterrorism efforts in the months after the attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center. We’re told that he informed the Members that the agency had considered, then abandoned, a major covert antiterror program.

Recall that a couple of months ago, Congressional Democrats were gunning to prosecute former officials for having authorized enhanced interrogation techniques under the Bush administration. It subsequently turned out that Nancy Pelosi had been briefed a couple of years prior on that very subject in her capacity as head of the House Intelligence Committee and hadn’t done anything about it at the time.

CAP’N’TRADE & NATIONALIZED “HEALTHCARE”: GOVERNMENT GONE NUTS Jul 10th, 2009by -S-. | Stumble it! Isn’t concealing information lying? Panetta says it is not CIA policy to mislead Congress. What a lie! Isn’t concealing information misleading? How are we supposed to believe the CIA? As far as I am concerned they have a long history of lying and it only got worse during the Bush misadministration. George Tenet was probably the worst liar in CIA history so Bush could attack Iraq.

Grief-giver Scarborough says his “friend” Pelosi “caught a lot of grief” for accusing CIA of lying In the wake of reports by congressional Democrats that CIA director Leon Panetta has acknowledged to members of Congress that the CIA has misled Congress, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough noted on July 9 that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi — whom he called “a friend of mine from Congress” — “caught a lot of grief” in May for accusing the CIA of misleading her about the use of enhanced interrogation techniques.

WASHINGTON - A west Michigan Congressman finds himself in the middle of a debate over whether the CIA has been deceiving Congress for years. Majority Democrats on Capitol Hill say so in a letter written to agency Director Leon Panetta late last month. It states that Congress was being misled, uninformed, or out and out lied to about “significant actions” for eight years, connected to the interrogation of suspected terrorists.

The politically explosive clash between the CIA and congressional Democrats flared anew Thursday as CIA chief Leon Panetta rejected fresh charges that the spy agency had systematically lied to lawmakers about key administration policies in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks. Seven Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee in a letter made public Wednesday evening said that Mr. Panetta recently conceded privately that CIA briefers misled lawmakers and demanded he “correct” earlier statements denying information had been concealed from Congress.

While the state-run media continues to hammer Sen. Ensign on his affair, here are a few of the real crimes you won’t hear about: ** Rep. John Conyers’ (D-MI) wife Monica was convicted on bribery charges . An associate also implicated Rep. Conyers and Senator Stabenow (D-MI) in the crimes. The state-run media hasn’t touched this. ** The jury in Rep. Jefferson’s (D-LA)criminal case saw tape this week of him accepting bribes and were handed photos of his frozen cold cash this week.
