Yet another troubling polling trend from the Rasmussen Report for Democrats. For the second week in a row, Republicans lead Democrats in the Generic Ballot. What does this tell us? That the voters are beginning to blame the “tax & spend” policies of Obama and the Democrats for the continued economic problems. When will Democrats put jobs first and their political power grab agenda second? If Democrats think its going to get better, they best think again.

It didn’t take long for the first disruption of the Sonia Sotomayor confirmation hearing to occur. An anti-abortion protester shouted about “unborn Latinos,” bringing Senator Dianne Feinstein’s questioning to a momentary halt:Embedded video from CNN VideoThe second disruption occured a couple of hours later; I’ll add the video to this post as soon as I get it.I oppose abortion, but is this the correct strategy to fight it? We regularly roll our eyes at the Code Pink protests at Congressional hearings when they disrupt proceedings.

This is a few days old but it’s still worth noting: House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (Democrat) admits that no one would vote for ObamaCare if they had to read the bill first . House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said Tuesday that the health-care reform bill now pending in Congress would garner very few votes if lawmakers actually had to read the entire bill before voting on it. “If every member pledged to not vote for it if they hadn’t read it in its entirety, I think we would have very few votes,” Hoyer told CNSNews.com at his regular weekly news conference.

It does NOT look good for President Obama and his health care reform efforts in the latest polling. Forty-nine percent (49%) of U.S. voters now at least somewhat oppose the health care reform plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats, while 46% at least somewhat favor it, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. This marks the first time that more voters lean against the plan than support it . Just two weeks ago, 50% were for the reform plan, and 45% were opposed.

There’s no way we can pay for ObamaCare; the numbers just don’t add up. But who cares? The important thing is to create the impression that our rulers are seizing control of the healthcare industry, inevitably consigning millions to the misery of rationed substandard care, not because they are greedy for still more power but because they are gushing with empathy. Regina Benjamin, Obama’s pick for Surgeon General, fits perfectly with the liberal approach to healthcare. A U.S.

The decision to opt out of Medicare is often a difficult one for doctors, but for this primary care physician, the decision was worth it (via Instapundit ): This decision meant I might lose my shirt and put my home and small life savings at risk, something thousands of Americans in other professions do everyday. If they could take the risk, then my risk is nothing less than a trivial American story. The United States was built on this: a country of immigrants fleeing an “old establishment” to build something new.

I have the sense that many defenders of an even-more-fully-government-run health care system have a hard time taking this question seriously. But they should. It’s just a fact that much of the world’s medical innovation comes from the U.S. This goes a good way toward explaining with why survival rates for many potentially mortal health problems are highest in the U.S., and also partly explains why U.S. costs are so high. Indeed, that a certain strata of Americans spend so much, often on stuff that makes no difference, also partly explains the high U.S.

0 By Alan Caruba on July 13th, 2009 A “Crisis” of GovernorsIf you can have a pride of lions and a gaggle of geese, then I suggest that the forthcoming July 17-20 meeting of the National Governors Association can be described as a “crisis” of Governors. This once-esteemed office, a platform from which some launched campaigns to become President, has become a sinkhole of sexual misconduct and corruption; witness New York’s unlamented Eliot Spitzer, New Jersey’s James McGreevey, and now South

While raising postage rates, the US Post Office is also removing collection boxes from streets. If you’re suddenly having trouble finding a neighborhood mailbox, you’ve got lots of company. In recent weeks, one-quarter of the 3,700 collection boxes in the Los Angeles area have been removed, said Joseph L. Harrison, a spokesman for the U.S. Postal Service’s Los Angeles district. The same people are bringing you Obamacare. Think it will be any different?

*Will cost taxpayers trillions of dollars, according to the Congressional Budget Office, more than the total annual taxes now collected by the IRS.*Will ration healthcare, with long waiting periods and government bureaucrats deciding who’s worth enough to society to get needed treatment.* Will start taxing your employer-provided health insurance and force private insurers out of business, denying you freedom of choice.*Will cover all legally allowable procedures, including late-term abortions and

Chances are that Barack Obama’s ridiculous health care reform bill won’t get enough votes to pass the House or Senate. You can chalk up yet another failure for the Obama administration. The Mobile Press-Register . Stop Obamacare (complete with made up “facts.”) Stop Cap and Trade. You know, it isn’t that folks worried about climate change “don’t like” coal, it’s that burning coal is damaging this planet — the only home we have — and the people who live on it. The bias against coal isn’t a preference, it’s an imperative for survival.

#fullpost{display:inline;}Over the weekend, the Wall Street Journal’s editorial page again slammedMitt Romney’s health care debacle in Massachusetts, which will again, prompt a link parade of other conservative institutions that have excoriated the program he continually champions*.The WSJ:In a rational world, the prognosis for ObamaCare would wait on the evidence in Massachusetts, given that the commonwealth’s 2006 program closely resembles what Democrats are trying to do in Washington.
