Denis Boyles at the Corner: A couple of things you can learn if you’re in France: First, the meaning of “universal.” It doesn’t mean what you think if you’re a poor person in France, where “universal” health care is arguably better than elsewhere in the EU. It means about 75 percent. Le Parisien reports this morning that, as in the U.S., the more money you have the better care you get. Shocking.

From the Desk of: Steve Elliott , President, Grassfire.org Alliance Desert Conservative Visitor, Cracks are beginning to show as President Obama cranks up the pressure on the House and Senate to pass his sweeping Government-run health care plan before the August recess.     News reports are suggesting that the “real action”     is taking place in the Senate as Republicans grow     more skeptical and “Blue Dog” Democrats are pushing     back against Obama and Democratic leadership! We are making an impact, and now is the perfect time to RUSH our petitions to Capitol Hill .

Steven Crowder from Pajamas TV has put together a documentary that details the Canadian health scare system… He and a few of his friends from the “Great White North” took a camera undercover to a few Canadian hospitals and clinics to see just how “free” and accessible the Canadian system is… needless to say… I would be laughing my ass off when an Obama Hopium addict has a meltdown in an ER when he finds out he has to come back later with a broken bone…

Watch this. . Dude . Huge “Well Done” to Steven Crowder. In fact, there’s little to add. Make sure to post your comments here and at YouTube, and vote it up . Conservatives, we need to start being heard on health care, before we all end up in terminal waiting rooms.

Links, after the leap… Will Wilkinson worries that Obamacare will destroy health-care innovation.  More and more I’m coming around to the same conclusion. H.C. Johns ponders David Cameron , and this profile of the UK Tory leader in particular. Virginia Postrel reviews Free. Robert Stacy McCain thinks this article in the Boston Globe is “strange.” Mike Rorty (aka Rortybomb ) discusses shadow banking at The Atlantic .

The Massachusetts Health Mess In a rational world, the prognosis for ObamaCare would wait on the evidence in Massachusetts, given that the commonwealth’s 2006 program closely resembles what Democrats are trying to do in Washington. If the results were widely known, it might be dead on arrival. The Massachusetts law, which was championed by former GOP Governor Mitt Romney, imposed an individual mandate, requiring nearly all residents to buy health insurance or else pay a penalty.

President Obama’s approval ratings continue to slide. It’s no wonder. His approval index is now at -8, his worst yet . Americans don’t like an out of control government which is what we’ve got. On a related note, for the first time more Americans are against Obamacare than for it – 49% to 46% . This is why Obama wanted to ram it through so fast. The more people know about it the less they like. Expect the number of Americans against Obamacare to increase in the coming weeks.

It is the economy, stupid – at least in the polls. The economy once again takes the top spot on the list of 10 important issues among voters, but interest in health care has surged and is now at its highest level in nearly two years. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 84% see the economy as a very important issue, up three points from the end of May. Another 10% see the issue as somewhat important, while only two percent (2%) say it’s not important at all.

Will Health-Care Innovation Survive Obamacare? : A very serious question.

Great story from someone who knows first-hand – The Fed’s (CMS) have been atrocious to deal with this year.  They keep changing their minds.  As an example…  “Rules changed about maximum commissions – end of Dec08, they gave us 4 days to make the change.  We had to pay the renewals on everyone.  CMS said guidance would be out in February.  It finally arrived in May.  Then they changed again causing charge-backs and re-apply’s.  Then they made an error with the file – and sent a new file – only
