The nightmare known as Obamacare is coming. And Rep. John Fleming (R-LA) knowns the surest way to stop it: force members of Congress to take part in it, as well! That statement is partly in jest, but it’s got some truth to it. House Resolution 615 is asking that members of Congress who vote for Obamacare be required to enroll in the nightmare health care system, as well. Rep. Fleming talks about it here : Over the past few weeks, members of Congress and the American people have come to know the details of the Administration’s proposed health care plan.

H/T: Michelle Malkin Louisiana Republican Congressman John Fleming has a capital idea. If House members vote for Government Health Care, Fleming has introduced House Resolution 615, which would require them enroll in the same Obamacare healthcare plan they’re approving, dropping their current “Capital Hill” healthcare plan. Mickey Kaus spots my favorite shortcoming of the Obamacare plan to spend a trillion dollars to screw up US medical care: Dick Morris is right twice a day, and this could be one of those times: If I were a Hill Democrat, I’d be very worried about this possible line of attack . … It’s a proven killer, and Obaman Dems, with all their talk of bending cost curves and denying treatments and  reducing Medicare spending by 30% , have rendered themselves wide open to it.

If socialized medicine is good enough to force on American taxpayers, it’s good enough for Congress. I like this House resolution from Rep. John Fleming requiring lawmakers in Washington to enroll in any government-run health plan it decides to foist on the rest of us.Read and sign the petition here:Over the past few weeks, members of Congress and the American people have come to know the details of the Administration’s proposed health care plan. Call it whatever you like, this proposal is nothing more than government-run health care.

www.house.gov/ryan/audio/111th/71509jws.htm   The big lie…. keeping your current private healthcare plan in the new Obamacare system!  The current Medicare / Medicaid system underpays physicians by 20% and hospitals by 30% which is offset by charging more to private insurance plans. If more people are transferred to a new public plan, then the cost of private care will be increased dramatically. This will not allow real competition. This will in fairly short order eliminate all private health plans.

Obamacare…in all its glory I want to be very clear, for my liberal friends out there. I fully support a REAL health care reform plan.  I support a plan that achieves universal coverage.  I support a plan that really implements real cost controls.  I support a plan that changes the defensive mentality in medicine, starting with malpractice reform . That is why I cannot support the Democrats Health Care proposal.  And I plead to you that you fight it too. This is not just about ideology.

Are you threatening me? Nancy Pelosi wants an “Obamacare” Bill passed by the end of July. Why? Because it’s a political power grab to create another entitlement that encourages people to rely on government for every facet of their lives, a.k.a. socialism/communism. This is a horrible idea. It has never worked anywhere it has been tried. Just ask the British or the Canadians. President Obama launched his “bold” nationalized health-care plan .

At first this patchwork quilt of a chart appears to be a stunt. But when you blow it up, you realize it’s for real! All those blocks and little lines represent real aspects of the plan. It goes to show you that Obamacare would be just like every government program – bloated, overly complicated and inefficient. Kudos to John Boehner and Kevin Brady for providing this vivid example of the mess that is government run healthcare.

Mr. President: I believe your push for national, universal health care is disingenuous.  You have promoted it as a way to lower health care costs and to address the “crisis” of having so many uninsured.  Let me address both issues and tell you why I am in strong opposition to government-provided universal health care. 1.  Medicaid and Medicare already are providing government healthcare to millions of Americans.  These programs have been run very poorly, with rampant fraud, inefficiency, rationed care, and often substandard care.

Obamacare Flow Chart President Obama and House and Senate Democrats are doing all they can to bring European and Canadian style health care to America. House Republicans released the chart above (click image to enlarge) showing the levels of bureaucracy involved in socialized health care. How on earth will that make health care more affordable and efficient? What we’re going to get is a bureaucratic nightmare. The latest health care news out of the UK is a nine month wait for treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, a painful and debilitating condition.

John Holdren gets creepier all the time – bookwormroom.com 07/15/2009 Barack Obama’s science czar turns out to be a long-time, committed eugenicist.  In other words, his 1971 publication calling for mass sterilization was not simply a youthful fling with a bad idea.  As Michelle Malkin details , he still clings to those ideas and only recently cited as his intellectual mentor one of the most extreme eugenicists of the 1950s.

For the House Democrats’ version, the CBO estimate tags the 10-year cost of the plan at just over $1 trillion, while one Democratic aide said the bill would add up to $1.5 trillion over the next decade.   The comprehensive health care overhaul being pitched by House Democrats could lead to a cost explosion in the long-term, a preliminary analysis from the Congressional Budget Office suggests.

Regarding Obamacare : “The intention of this plan is to tax high-income households, but the real victims would be America’s small business owners,” the Washington-based group’s president, Thomas Donohue, said in a statement. “ Since when does our great free-market country punish success? ” Since the Democrats took control, of course. And while we’re on the subject, take a look at this headline: 1,000+ page bill would make health care a right in USA… Guess what, health care already is a right in this country.

The Democrats answer to all problems is raise taxes! During a Recession? A SURTAX for being rich??? What America do we live in where people are penalized for living the American dream and making something of themselves? A segment of people being singled out by the US Government and treated differently than the rest. Isn’t this discrimination? So we can’t discriminate of race, color or creed, but we can on economics.

The Democrats in the House are hard at work on healthcare reform. A major roadblock for Obamacare is the price tag of over a trillion dollars. The House legislation created on Tuesday will penalize employers for not providing coverage. The bill, to be debated in committee beginning later this week, would require insurance companies to offer coverage, without exceptions or higher premiums in cases of pre-existing medical conditions.

Keith Hennessey has done a little digging into the House method of paying for health-care reform and sees some significant sleight-of-hand in the details.  Barack Obama says that he wants to provide health-care coverage for all Americans without raising taxes on anyone under $250,000.  Keith points out that the proposal in fact does tax people who make less than the Obama definition of rich, and significantly:As expected, the House bill would mandate that individuals and families have or buy health

We have witnessed since January how liberal naiveté has applied the wrong government medicine and treatments to an ailing job market, making things worse than anyone would have expected. Obama and his liberal allies in Congress claimed they wanted to ’stimulate’ the economy to create jobs and this had to be done right away. But they implemented a federal pork spending program which had no ability to spend money right away.

Obamacare is well on it’s way to becoming reality. A few years ago, I was part of a conversation with a gentleman from England. He was suffering from a some kind of flu or infection. One of the other Americans involved in the conversation advised him to go to his local “medi-quick”. For those of you who are not familiar with quick care facilities, in a nutshell, they are stand alone emergency rooms. They take almost all insurance and you are responsible for your co-pay.

The Democrat leaders in the Senate plan to use a special parliamentary procedure to shut out dissent and pass healthcare reform with only 51 votes. This procedure is called “reconciliation” and it would prevent Republicans from blocking passage by bypassing the usual 60 votes required to pass a bill. Obama has already tossed aside his promise to work for bipartisan support.

While politicians spend countless hours bickering over how to solve America’s health care problems, decision-makers on both sides of the aisle may be ignoring important research into this very subject, some of which is over 30 years old. Some critics wonder whether Obama’s health care proposal contains flaws that will not only cost consumers more money, but cause patients to receive inadequate and unsatisfactory health care.

• House outlines plan to fund Obamacare. Includes an extra $1,500 tax on families making more than $500,000 per year; $9,000 on families making more than $1 million. Employers with a payroll over $400,000 who don’t provide health insurance would pay a fine equal to 8 percent of wages. • In second day of hearings , Sotomayor promises “objectivity,” not to let personal experience influence her decisions. • Obama may do away with Bush administration’s color-coded terror alert system.

Ditch the logo, but keep the healthcare plan. In the early 1990s, then-President Bush faced a firestorm of criticism for, quite simply, not knowing how much milk costs at the supermarket. It wasn’t relevant for the “truth of the matter asserted,” but rather tended to show that Bush lacked the basic awareness of reality that any policymaker should have, before presuming to speak in the public’s best interest. The same could be said of Republicans on health care, today.

The Democrats in the House of Representatives released their version of health care reform yesterday , and the CBO clocked it in at a cool $1 trillion over 10 years.  As Michelle points out, it’s even worse than that .  To keep the numbers down, most of the plan doesn’t go into effect until 2015, back loading the bulk of the $1 trillion cost in the latter half of the next decade.  This means that the overall cost will likely be much higher (in the range of $2 trillion over 10 years, from 2015

-By Warner Todd Huston It is surprising that the national debate on Obamacre has thus far excluded any real examination of the state wide healthcare program signed into law in 2006 by Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts. But maybe the fact that Romneycare, a system closely resembling Obama’s policies, is failing on several levels serves as a reason that Democrats want to pretend that system doesn’t exist when debating their own programs.

UK NHS Watch: Rheumatoid services ‘are failing’ – Prelude to Obamacare? Tens of thousands of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are not being diagnosed or treated quickly enough, says a watchdog. The National Audit Office says over half a million people in England live with the disease, with 26,000 new cases a year – double the current estimate. But only a tenth are treated within three months of symptoms starting, as ideally they should be. This is because many delay seeing a GP, and RA is difficult to diagnose.

Here in Minnesota, there’s good reason to worry about the damage ObamaCare might cause. The Mayo Clinic’s Health Care Policy Center has worked hard to voice its worries : Dr. Douglas Wood, who chairs the clinic’s division of Health Care Policy & Research, said a public plan modeled after the Medicare system has the potential to do serious harm to health care in states like Minnesota where quality is high and costs are low.
