Although the bill currently being considered by Congress is being advertised as healthcare reform, it actually includes very little in the way of real reform. It is a thousand-page disaster which attempts to address problems which were created by government regulation with more government and more regulation at an enormous cost. There are real problems with high costs and millions of citizens with no health coverage, but raising costs even higher and mandating insurance for those who cannot afford it, enforced with draconian penalties is not a rational solution.

Anyone who still takes Obama at his word when he says you’ll be able to keep your current health plan if you’re happy with it under his health care ‘reform’ plan needs to listen to this audio. Obama - to the extent that he even acknowledges this possibility - acts as if forcing the government ‘option’ on unwilling participants would merely be an unintended consequence of his agenda.

We don’t have any idea how expensive Obama care will truly be. You can bet your britches – and you may end up actually being forced to BET your britches – that it will cost a whopping load more than advertised. First, some figures to show the invariable tendency of the government to dramatically underestimate the cost of its own programs: - 2009 (January) CBO estimated that the bailout TARP plan would cost taxpayers $189 billion; instead, several weeks later the estimated cost was raised to $356 billion , and will eventually be much more by end of 2009 .

By Brother Bradley J. Fikes, C.O.R. Investors Business Daily last week wrote an inaccurate editorial against the health care bill now in Congress, basing its claim on a passage in the bil l (PDF) it said would outlaw individual private health insurance. Worse, much of the dextrosphere uncritically passed along the false information. At first, I first thought IBD had a sensational scoop. But I always like to check things out for myself. IBD didn’t provide a link to the bill, but I found it elsewhere, and read the passage.

According to the Congressional Budget Office’s preliminary analysis , H.R. 3200 would “establish a mandate for legal residents to obtain health insurance” “set up insurance ‘exchanges’ through which some individuals and families could receive subsidies to substantially reduce the cost of purchasing insurance” “significantly expand eligibility for Medicaid” “make modifications to the Medicare and Medicaid programs” “impose an income-tax surcharge on high-income individuals” In addition, “enacting H.R.

By Frank S. Rosenbloom, M.D.The health care debate in this country is an old story. It began in 1934 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt attempted to include government-funded health care in his “New Deal” as part of his comprehensive Social Security legislation. President Roosevelt was very concerned that the Supreme Court might rule parts of his “New Deal” unconstitutional. He tried to induce Congress to approve increasing the total number of justices on the Supreme Court to fifteen, attempting thereby to circumvent the judiciary and the Constitution by stacking the Court in his favor.

Will ObamaCare use taxpayer money to fund abortions? Chris Wallace asks budget director Peter Orszag the explosive question on Fox News Sunday today, and Orszag attempts to dodge it. Wallace presses him for an answer on whether the White House will rule that out, and Orszag declines to do so. However, the answer is rather obvious:Barack Obama and the Democrats, especially those on the hard Left, want two things. They want unfettered access to abortion on demand, which they will pursue through the Freedom of Choice Act … eventually, if Obama’s polling numbers stop sliding.

David Kahane, writing at NRO , pens this: Is there no end to the prowess of His Serene Highness, the Emperor Barack Hussein Obama II, Lord of the Flies, Protector of the Holy Cities of Honolulu and Chicago, and by the Grace of Gaia the 44th president of the United States? Whether it’s swatting a pesky fly at the White House, bowling a near-perfect 37 during the campaign, or shooting some pick-up hoops in between charming various foreign leaders out of their socks, it seems there’s nothing the Dear Leader and Teacher can’t do.

on a tip from the fabulous pianogirlTheir Own Medicine Senators prefer the insurance they have In the health debate, liberals sing Hari Krishnas to the “public option” — a new federal insurance program like Medicare — but if it’s good enough for the middle class, then surely it’s good enough for the political class too? As it happens, more than a few Democrats disagree. On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a two-page amendment courtesy of Republican Tom Coburn that would require all Members and their staffs to enroll in any new government-run health plan.

The independent verdict on Obamacare is in: Instead of saving the federal government from fiscal catastrophe, the health reform measures being drafted by congressional Democrats would worsen an already bleak budget outlook, increasing deficit projections and driving the nation more deeply into debt. This runaway spending, coupled with the Democrats plans to raise taxes, will kill our struggling economy and leave us with double digit unemployment for years to come.

by Scott Creighton The “progressive” blogs are vibrant today. They are touting the recently accepted Kucinich Amendment to HR 3200 (Obamacare) as the “compromise” we have all been waiting for; a way to pass this draconian healthcare plan monstrosity (that actually serves no-one but the insurance industry) while still maintaining the “HOPE” of having a single-payer not-for-profit healthcare-for-all system sometime in the future.

Why are Obama ratings poll numbers sinking? It’s simple, his policies are going directly against the will of the people. Barack Obama’s approval ratings and policy agenda are on a downward spiral with the American voters. That translates to Representatives and Senators who will lose re-election in 2010 if the back plans that are so unpopular with “We the People.” The Obama downward polling trend continues … we like to refer to it as the Obama Slide … It’s electric, Boogie woogie, woogie.

Does being an intellectual require a lack of respect for life? I only ask because 52.7 percent voters placed a man in the nation’s highest office who is a supposed intellectual and has outwardly campaigned on behalf of the culture of death. Is this what so-called Republicans who were enamored with the intellect of Obama (let’s call them “moderates”) expected? Are the FFT (Feckless Fifty Two percent) paying attention to the words of warning that are coming off TOTUS? How can this push for death be spun by the sycophants?

Major Update : The Obama Administration and DC Congressional liberals are out on the Sunday morning news shows with a whopper of BS on health care costs - we have not scored savings from increased health! This is so naive and lame it is laughable. How do you score increased health as a cost savings? Will they be reducing the need for health care across the population by solving nagging major medical conditions like cancer? What is this, some sci-fi fairy tale? The only way to make the general populace healthier without major medical breakthroughs is to cull out the sickly.

With a stop in Crawford. Washington Post oped : Barely six months into his presidency, Barack Obama seems to be driving south into that political speed trap known as Carter Country: a sad-sack landscape in which every major initiative meets not just with failure but with scorn from political allies and foes alike. According to a July 13 CBS News poll, the once-unassailable president’s approval rating now stands at 57 percent, down 11 points from April.

From Andrew Malcolm at the Los Angeles Times : The president knows his keystone program is in deep trouble and losing momentum. That’s why his organization is sending out all those e-mails and organizing local discussion groups to mobilize grassroots support and why he drags the subject into everything he talks about. Why he even dragged it into a speech Thursday night celebrating the NAACP’s centennial. And he’ll no doubt focus on the same subject in his weekly address tomorrow (Text here as always at 3 a.m.

This video on ObamaCare is making the rounds of conservative sites and it’s not bad - pretty funny, really. I especially like how they’ve utilized the same phrase the french do when they’re blowing their money on nothing (”It’s the best!”) and using it in exactly the same way! Considering how many American lamers idolize the french way of doing things (if one can claim the french actually “do” anything, which is a stretch) it only stands to reason a lot of folks might find that phrase attractive enough to go for this nonsense.

The new health care bill will make it illegal to buy private insurance. Did Obama lie? Well, no. But he’s a sneaky politician (redundant, I know). If you lose your private insurance, be it by job loss or you just want a new plan, you can’t get other private insurance. You get…ObamaCare!!! Yay? Nay. Q: What if I don’t want ObamaCare? A: Too bad. Basically, you can’t change your health care plan. And people wonder why the GOP is the “Party of No”? Sneaky Democrat bastards.

Day By Day by Chris Muir President Obama and the Democrat Congress are killing off the old United States. You know the America that supported liberty, capitalism and individual rights over the rights of the state. But, no matter how Obama rushes the Congress over health care reform, he cannot fool the people all of the time and there will be repercussions to his fellow Democrats. The GOP should be hoping Obama gets his way, especially with the Senate. What an easy way to pick up some seats in 2010.

“How many people are sick due to Fluoride and other poisons being put into city water daily?” None. “How many due to Chemtrail planes bombing us daily?” None. “What is the number mortally ill after taking mandated vaccines?” Some, but for every substance in the world, there’s someone who reacts badly to it. “The government make us sick!” Even a blind pig finds some truffles.

The One is still telling us that we’ll be able to keep our current doctor or insurance plan if we want to. That’s a lie. This article in the New York Post by Betsy Mccaughey gives a quick breakdown on how Obama is either lying to us or hasn’t bothered to read what’s in the bills (probably both). Not reading them would put him in the same league as our reps and senators though wouldn’t it? Here are a few choice pieces: The bills now before Congress would force you to switch to a managed-care plan with limits on your access to specialists and tests.

If one, or The One, ever pressures a sale, no matter what it is, the answer is to never buy it. Think the Obama Administration is not misreading Healthcare as they did they economy ? Ask yourself a simple question, why is Barack Obama insisting that all his big government socialist plans be done immediately? Who is their life allows a salesman to pressure them into buying anything? The answer is no one, most people just walk out the door.

This article was originally posted on ibdeditorials.com: Reformers’ Claims Just Don’t Add Up Health Reform: Many extravagant claims have been made on behalf of the various health care “reforms” now emerging from Congress and the White House. But on closer inspection, virtually all prove to be false. Yet even as many Americans start to have second thoughts about our government’s possible takeover of the health care system, Congress is rushing to make it happen.

Sad. Health care reform is needed so much. In 1981, only 8% of American bankruptcies were due to health care problems. By 2007 health care issues became the #1 cause (62%) of bankruptcies in the USA . Three out of four (78%) of those bankruptcies were for folks that already had health care insurance. If health care reform is to help protect Americans both fiscally and physically then will it actually achieve that? The evidence from Canada, which does have a single payer socialized health care system is that bankruptcies due to health care issues will remain a problem, with Canadians continuing to have a high rate of bankruptcies due to health concerns.

Gabriel E. Vidal has written a great article on mises.org about the Healthcare Legislation that is being rushed through the House and Senate before the August recess. He starts with a summary of a speech that the President gave to the AMA in June of this year. In his speech to the AMA in Chicago June 15, 2009, Obama shared his diagnosis, solutions, and justification for healthcare reform: health costs are spiraling out of control and are a threat to the economy, families, businesses, and the federal government.

AMERICA’S NATIONAL HEALTHCARE EMERGENCY!
It’s official. America and the World are now in a GLOBAL PANDEMIC. A World EPIDEMIC with potential catastrophic consequences for ALL of the American people. The first PANDEMIC in 41 years. And WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES will have to face this PANDEMIC with the 37th worst quality of healthcare in the developed World.
STAND READY AMERICA TO SEIZE CONTROL OF YOUR NATIONAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.
We spend over twice as much of our GDP on healthcare as any other country in the World. And Individual American spend about ten times as much out of pocket on healthcare as any other people in the World. All because of GREED! And the PRIVATE FOR PROFIT healthcare system in America.
And while all this is going on, some members of congress seem mostly concern about how to protect the corporate PROFITS! of our GREED DRIVEN, PRIVATE FOR PROFIT NATIONAL DISGRACE. A PRIVATE FOR PROFIT DISGRACE that is in fact, totally valueless to the public health. And a detriment to national security, public safety, and the public health.
Progressive democrats the Tri-Caucus and others should stand firm in their demand for a robust government-run public option for all Americans, with all of the minimum requirements progressive democrats demanded. If congress can not pass a robust public option with at least 51 votes and all robust minimum requirements, congress should immediately move to scrap healthcare reform and request that President Obama declare a state of NATIONAL HEALTHCARE EMERGENCY! Seizing and replacing all PRIVATE FOR PROFIT health insurance plans with the immediate implementation of National Healthcare for all Americans under the provisions of HR676 (A Single-payer National Healthcare Plan For All).
Coverage can begin immediately through our current medicare system. With immediate expansion through recruitment of displaced workers from the canceled private sector insurance industry. Funding can also begin immediately by substitution of payroll deductions for private insurance plans with payroll deductions for the national healthcare plan. This is what the vast majority of the American people want. And this is what all objective experts unanimously agree would be the best, and most cost effective for the American people and our economy.
In Mexico on average people who received medical care for A-H1N1 (Swine Flu) with in 3 days survived. People who did not receive medical care until 7 days or more died. This has been the same results in the US. But 50 million Americans don’t even have any healthcare coverage. And at least 200 million of you with insurance could not get in to see your private insurance plans doctors in 2 or 3 days, even if your life depended on it. WHICH IT DOES!
If President Obama has to declare a NATIONAL STATE OF EMERGENCY to rescue the American people from our healthcare crisis, he will need all the sustained support you can give him. STICK WITH HIM! He’s doing a brilliant job.
THIS IS THE BIG ONE!
THE BATTLE OF GOOD Vs EVIL!
Join the fight.
Contact congress and your representatives NOW! AND SPREAD THE WORD!
