Because we really can’t afford that $2 billion for national defense and job creation when we’re looking at spending $1.5 trillion on healthcare socialization, $2 trillion to fight global warming, and possibly another multi-billion stimulus package. We can afford trillions for junk science, but God forbid we spend even a fraction of that on national defense. The U.S. Senate just approved a measure to strike increased funding for the Marietta-built F-22 Raptor, bowing to a veto threat from President Barack Obama.

This amazing interview was done back in 1985 with a former KGB agent who was trained in subversion techniques. He explains the 4 basic steps to socially engineering entire generations into thinking and behaving the way those in power want them to. It’s shocking because our nation has been transformed in the exact same way, and followed the exact same steps.www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeMZGGQ0ERk Interviewer, G. Richard Feynman is someone I learn from. Because he has something to teach. What he teaches most is an attitude. His attitude seems to be, “I’m not so smart, but I have a brain which, like most of us, enables me to think. So I’ll think. Only I hope certain things that impede thinking won’t get in my way. If I think I’m smarter than I am (he was smart) that will stop me from looking competently and figuring things out for myself, so I’ll spend my time looking and thinking rather than acting as though I’m smarter than I am.” What Feynman was interested in looking at was something he, and we, call Nature, i.e.

Lately we’ve been discussing a lot of junk science in our blog. Discrediting the validity of junk sciences seems to be a recent trend. An opinion editorial on dallasnews.com says forensic investigations need to weed out the junk science procedures. It describes the case of Michael Blair, who spent 14 years on death row for murder due to unreliable hair analysis. Hair-fiber analysis involves taking a hair under a microscope and comparing it to another (i.e.

Your Gonna Be Busy Its time for another Grapevine post, as I have really been slacking on these this summer. We have not had any real juicy news since Perez and co have went about their work pretty efficiently, unlike the previous regime, which makes me reminisce about the dog days of last summer and the Ronaldo affair. Picture of Neirda Gallardo on the beach, accusations of Sergio Ramos’s pie junk getting in the way of Ronaldo’s move and Ramon Calderon and Fergilicious having a war of words for old men through the press.

Trying to fix our rising health care costs without fixing our food system is like trying to fix our defense budget without ending our two wars in the Middle East. In fact, it would be like trying to get a grip on defense spending while invading Pakistan. Or something like that. Here’s what I mean:
This graph shows the percentage increase in health care costs between 2001 and 2006 for people classified as “Normal” weight, overweight, and obese.

People who have been antique shopping for years know that if you are going to go out shopping in search of antiques, then you should absolutely stick to the antique shops that are still true to the business. What this means is that you should be sticking to the antique shops that care about the antiques, rather than simply turning a quick buck for what they feel is a bunch of old junk. You should be enjoying yourself when you go antique shopping, which means avoiding junky flea markets may be a good idea unless you really love a challenge.

What really happened was this: the crew saw the object outside their spacecraft and asked Houston the location of the Supplemental Rocket Booster, SRB, a small rocket used to help the spacecraft achieve escape velocity. It was then ejected from the assembly and fell away.

by Stephen Richards It is a fact that most Americans are obese irrespective of the fact that they do not want to be so. The plain fact is that the modern generation youth just cannot control their tongue. They also avail of different types of junk food. These teenagers and adults eat junk food despite the fact that they are not hungry. Most of the food remains undigested into their system due to this reason. Over a period of time the undigested food rots and this forms the perfect breeding ground for bacteria.

Junk from garbage dumps of the past are treasured artifacts today. From these finding, scientists piece together how they think the people lived, worked, and played.I wonder what archaeologists in the far future will find in today’s garbage? I also wonder if they will think where I live was a community garbage dump? am not only a pack rat, I become obsessed when I find a real sale.

July 14th, 2009 Warning: The article below may be offensive to some readers. This is not the objective. It is in no way meant to defame or inflame any parties, groups or persons. Here’s a little to learn from Michelle ObamaMost of us have fallen for our first family, the Obamas … such a universal picture of love. This has even become something of an obsession, especially for quite a number of professional Black women, with many getting excited about the likelihood that they could find their own Obama.

And happy moon landing day, too. It seems like a whole bunch of famous people have been dying lately. Reminds me of something I glimpsed (probably on Kottke) a long time ago—the author was talking about how media has grown so much to the point that, in a couple of decades down the road, we’ll be hearing about beloved entertainers and such dying left and right. I think we’re at the start of that. For some reason, the Adam Yauch thing is hitting me really hard.

Are you old enough to remember hearing those words spoken by President John F. Kennedy? I’m not, but I have a distinct memory of the night of July 20, 1969, when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the moon—the first humans to set foot on a celestial body other than planet Earth. I was seven years old. It was a summer night in Ohio and our house was not air conditioned. I had likely spent the day at swim team practice, followed by swim lessons, followed by five more hours of swimming at the pool until dinner time.

Games might “infantilize” the brain Baroness Susan Greenfield, director of the Royal Institution, says that playing lots of video games can “infantilize” the brains of children, perhaps adding fuel to the obesity crisis. She told a science seminar at the House of Lords that the idea that you can make a mistake and just keep playing so common in electronic games keeps kids from thinking that their actions have consequences. That in turn can lead to more overeating, sedentary behavior and, ultimately, more obesity, she argued.

This week’s controversy over the scheduling of a Twilight movie at San Diego Comic-Con raised an issue that we at Good Comics for Kids have been thinking about for a while: Why don’t girls’ comics (and their other enthusiasms, for that matter) get any respect? Even the comics bloggers who leaped to defend the Twilight fans often speak with contempt of genres aimed at tween and teen girls, an attitude that was on full display later this week when Yen Press announced it would be publishing a Twilight manga.

The theory behind gaining muscle is a pretty simple one. You lay the foundation for muscle growth by intense training. Allow your body the space and time to build muscle. To make your muscles bigger you also have to give your body quality food. That’s about it really. Many people make the mistake of not sticking to this plan. So here are 5 rules that are guaranteed to pack on the muscle. Stick to these rules and you can’t go wrong. Rule 1. Train with the most heavy weights that you can use.

In today’s fingerprint world, scanners, not ink, collect prints, and gigantic automated databases — like the FBI’s Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System — spit out the closest matches in seconds. IAFIS has the prints of more than 55 million subjects in its Criminal Master File. Still, television’s CSI this is not. Despite all that technology, it then falls to fallible human beings to step in and make visual comparisons and the ultimate judgment calls on matches Grits for breakfast published an article over the weekend pointing my attention to a story on the affect of unintentional bias on fingerprint analysis.

Let me start off by saying that I do not bake. It just isn’t my thing. I’m a wicked cook, but my baking skills are right up there with a basket of half drown kittens. It’s just too exact for me. If the recipe calls for 1/4tsp of something- they mean it. I want to make food, not feel like I’m back in high school science. I’m more of a “throw shit in” kinda girl. This weekend however, we raided the ICBC apricot tree next door and somehow, Martha Steward crawled outta my ass and took over my kitchen.

Blaine Luetkemeyer has been absorbing some well-deserved criticism the past couple of weeks for his efforts to shut down a Nobel Prize-winning climate change research panel at the UN, which he says is “fraught with waste and is engaged in dubious science.” Their science is so dubious, in fact, that Luetkemeyer can’t even stoop to reading its research before dismissing it as “junk.” In a bill that thus far has drawn no co-sponsors, Luetkemeyer proposes cutting off contributions from the United States to the U.N.-sponsored Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

The Global Warming Hoax Posted Monday, July 13, 2009, at 1:09 PM Isn’t it interesting how all our problems seem to be global these days. A global war on terrorism, a global economic crisis, the need for a global currency, global trade, global health concerns, global warming, etc. It’s almost as if someone is pushing for a one-world government, with a one-world monetary system, a one-world police force, a one-world set of rules and a population of obedient worker bees to keep the whole economic engine going at full throttle.

I was tooling around in the comments section of my Bible Verse Twisting post, and I want to “narrate the debate” so to speak and give you a few insights. Most are actually points I’ve made before, but I need to emphasize them better, and they were displayed beautifully in the comments to that post. Almost right away in the comments, folks started making the very statement that I addressed in the main part of the post. One commenter harped on the notion that there are many interpretations of almost any biblical text, with learned scholars to back them up.

Remember all the fuss about stem cells? Candidate Obama was going to restore science to its rightful place in the wake of the dreadful Bush administration which was apparently completely unfamiliar with science or the scientific method. by Joanne Aika Castillo A non-profit Virginia based organization called “Truths in Justice” created a presentation regarding wrongful convictions and the truth behind the injustice. Let us start by reiterating some of the common myths that people have about wrongful convictions. – Everyone in prison claims to be innocent. – Only those people who live on the edge are charged with crimes they didn’t commit. – Wrongfully accused people who were exonerated must have done something that’s why they were suspected in the first place.
