There’s lot’s of discussion going on about health care lately– very little of substance from our politicians (is anyone surprised?), who are more interested in ramming through a massive government “solution” than actually figuring out what a good solution might be. Here’s some articles worth looking through to get yourself better informed:  ♦  TennCare’s troubling history : Tennessee tried universal coverage with a public option in 1994, similar to what is planned for Obamacare.

Byron York : If Barack Obama fails to enact national health care, it will be because he sowed the seeds of his own demise last Feb. 17 — the day the president, surrounded by Democratic leaders, signed the $787 billion economic stimulus bill. In the legislative campaign leading up to that moment, both Obama and congressional Democrats made promises and took actions that are now coming back to haunt them as they pursue their goal of remaking the nation’s health care system.

Congress may or may not vote on the job killing (if not people killing), privacy destroying government healthcare takeover bill until the Fall–at least in the Senate : Senate Democratic leaders on Thursday abandoned plans for a vote on health care before Congress’ August recess, dealing a blow to President Barack Obama’s ambitious timetable to revamp the nation’s $2.4 trillion system of medical care.

Most people think in binary - black and white; good or bad. “If you’re not with me, you’re against me.” If you are against ObamaCare, you oppose healthcare reform . I am and I do not. There is no question that healthcare is sick. The evidence (ignore all the selfishly motivated hype and spin) is overwhelming whether you look at financial data ; quality of outcomes ; errors and adverse impacts ; efficiency , however measured; or shortages of personnel.

From a penetrating commentary by Charles Krauthammer on the fiscal disaster that is ObamaCare 2009: This is not about politics? Then why is it, to take but the most egregious example, that in this grand health-care debate we hear not a word about one of the worst sources of waste in American medicine: the insane cost and arbitrary rewards of our malpractice system? When a neurosurgeon pays $200,000 a year for malpractice insurance before he even turns on the light in his office or hires his first nurse, who do you think pays? Patients, in higher doctor fees to cover the insurance.

Fox News is reporting the following: A key House committee chairman on Friday threatened to roll over moderate Democrats who are holding up the health care reform bill and bring the package straight to the floor. The statement underscored the deep divisions the health care reform debate is causing in the ranks of the Democratic Party. Fiscally conservative Blue Dogs are holding up the bill in the House Energy and Commerce Committee over cost concerns and other issues.

The is a very good reason President Obama and his staff wants the health care bill rammed through Congress as quick as possible.  That reason is that Obama doesn’t want you to read some of the changes he wants to make to heath care.  If people found out about these, there is no way they would want this type of government intervention.  There’s over 1000 pages to the health care bill.  Here are a few tips of the iceberg: ObamaCare MANDATES the government will audit books of ALL EMPLOYERS that self insure.

Ever dealt with one of those people that refuses to see their part of blame in things gone wrong? Somehow their idea of accepting responsibility basically just boils down to them accusing others and/or pointing out their faults in the situation. “I know I’m wrong but ultimately this happened because of you…yada, yada…”, yeah, and I was totally born yesterday. Pahleaze, that’s not taking responsibility. That’s just being a blow-hard who’s trying to use scapegoating as a diversion technique to shield themselves from actually having to take any responsibility whatsoever.

In Oregon that is the case . Some terminally ill patients in Oregon who turned to their state for health care were denied treatment and offered doctor-assisted suicide instead, a proposal some experts have called a “chilling” corruption of medical ethics. Since the spread of his prostate cancer, 53-year-old Randy Stroup of Dexter, Ore., has been in a fight for his life. Uninsured and unable to pay for expensive chemotherapy, he applied to Oregon’s state-run health plan for help.

It’s conventional wisdom now that Obama’s health care initiative is in deep trouble. But that’s wrong. It’s in deep, deep, deep trouble. Again contrary to Washington wisdom, neither the cost of ObamaCare nor the squabble among congressional Democrats is the main reason. The biggest problem is average Americans. They dislike ObamaCare. The new Fox News poll , conducted this week, captures the dimensions of the public’s turnoff.

The Administration must know that if the public becomes aware of how pro-death the bill is that there will be a major backlash. My friends at the American Issues Project are spotlighting the House Democrats who have come out against ObamaCare. So far, they’ve got: Rep. Jason Altmire (D-PA) , who realizes that tax increases on small businesses won’t help those small businesses to offer health care they can’t afford to offer now. Rep. Mike Arcuri (D-NY) , who wants more time to get his constituents involved. Rep. The reason that European nations have better health is not because they have “free” access to doctors occasionally.  It is because–for the most part–they don’t eat the crazy American fast food diet.  Europeans eat real food.  They often walk rather than drive to places they need to go, because they live in walkable cities–not in a suburb linked to their place of work by an hourlong drive to go ten or twenty miles.

Urge the Blue Dogs to Defeat Obamacare! Freedom Works One of the promising developments has been the opposition to the government takeover by the Blue Dog Democrats in the House of Representatives. Some of these Congressmen have flat out told President Obama that they will not support a government takeover, and others have focused on the trillions of dollars in new taxes that would be required for Obamacare. The battle against government-run health care is being fought within the Democrat party, and that is where we must focus our efforts.

The answer to the “if you don’t want Obamacare, you want people to die” sort of liberal argument: Socialism, like the ancient ideas from which it springs, confuses the distinction between government and society. As a result of this, every time we object to a thing being done by government, the socialists conclude that we object to its being done at all. - Frederic Bastiat

  2. jacksmith says:

LEAD, FOLLOW, OR GET OUT OF THE WAY. (Thomas Paine)

We have the 37th worst quality of healthcare in the developed world. Conservative estimates are that over 120,000 of you dies each year in America from treatable illness that people in other developed countries don’t die from. Rich, middle class, and poor a like. Insured and uninsured. Men, women, children, and babies. This is what being 37th in quality of healthcare means.

I know that many of you are angry and frustrated that REPUBLICANS! In congress are dragging their feet and trying to block TRUE healthcare reform. What republicans want is just a taxpayer bailout of the DISGRACEFUL GREED DRIVEN PRIVATE FOR PROFIT health insurance industry, and the DISGRACEFUL GREED DRIVEN PRIVATE FOR PROFIT healthcare industry. An insurance bailout is all you really get without a robust government-run public option available on day one.

These industries have been slaughtering you and your loved ones like cattle for decades for profit. Including members of congress and their families. These REPUBLICANS are FOOLS!

Republicans and their traitorous allies have been trying to make it look like it’s President Obama’s fault for the delays, and foot dragging. But I think you all know better than that. President Obama inherited one of the worst government catastrophes in American history from these REPUBLICANS! And President Obama has done a brilliant job of turning things around, and working his heart out for all of us.

But Republicans think you are just a bunch of stupid, idiot, cash cows with short memories. Just like they did under the Bush administration when they helped Bush and Cheney rape America and the rest of the World.

But you don’t have to put up with that. And this is what you can do. The Republicans below will be up for reelection on November 2, 2010. Just a little over 13 months from now. And many of you will be able to vote early. So pick some names and tell their voters that their representatives (by name) are obstructing TRUE healthcare reform. And are sellouts to the insurance and medical lobbyist.

Ask them to contact their representatives and tell them that they are going to work to throw them out of office on November 2, 2010, if not before by impeachment, or recall elections. Doing this will give you something more to do to make things better in America. And it will help you feel better too.

There are many resources on the internet that can help you find people to call and contact. For example, many social networking sites can be searched by state, city, or University. Be inventive and creative. I can think of many ways to do this. But be nice. These are your neighbors. And most will want to help.

I know there are a few democrats that have been trying to obstruct TRUE healthcare reform too. But the main problem is the Bush Republicans. Removing them is the best thing tactically to do. On the other hand. If you can easily replace a democrat obstructionist with a supportive democrat, DO IT!

You have been AMAZING!!! my people. Don’t loose heart. You knew it wasn’t going to be easy saving the World. :-)

    God Bless You
