Andrew Breitbart ‘Let me be clear,’ Prof. Gates is a jackass. And his field of studies (the junk social science of victimhood) demanded he play the role of martyr. Was anyone surprised he overreacted? And Obama indulging Gates’ ‘You dont know who youre messing with’ while ADMITTING ‘not having been there and not seeing all the facts,’ we’ll now get more of this crap. FYI, this is what community organizers do: stir S#@T up. Dennis Prager said on his radio show today (first hour): The President made things worse by commenting on it.

Psychologist Thomas Bouchard , a leader in the field of twin and adoption studies, is retiring from the University of Minnesota. He gave this farewell interview to Science. Major components of today’s conventional wisdom will turn out to be completely wrong. It has always been the case in the past and there is no reason that we shouldn’t expect it to be true today. Q: What got you into twin studies? TB: I was teaching the psychology of individual differences, and in 1979, two different people put a copy in my mailbox of a story about twins reared apart and their similarities when they met.

Since the establishment of time the world has been searching for the elusive fountain of youth. As we become old we all seem to drop that young at heart vigor and we all get to the point where we would like to appear and feel younger. Yet, it may be feasible that the fountain of youth has been with us all along and we just didn’t understand it. Science has found that the greater part of age-related deterioration along with most diseases and other disorders are caused by free radicals.

Fortunately, India holds the same view and has told the EU carbon bullies to take a hike. The Financial Times online reports: India rejected key scientific findings on global warming, while the European Union called for more action by developing states on greenhouse gas emissions.

He’s now expanded on that idea, with a letter to newsdurhamregion.com : You’d think in these tough economic times our public officials would avoid “trash talk.” Enough already! Get to the real issues. Dwelling on emotional fallacies such as the dreaded plastic bag while people are left with little economic hope is unforgivable.

It is one of the world’s oldest cold cases. Sometime between 50,000 and 75,000 years ago, a Neanderthal male known to scientists as Shanidar 3 received a wound to his torso, limped back to his cave in what is now Iraq and died several weeks later.

I saw on GenPop the mention of a survey being conducted on “Perceptions of Wrongful Convictions in the United States.” It’s just a quick questionnaire to see what people think about wrongful convictions, and to see what other factors may contribute to those thoughts. The results of the survey may or may not be used for academic purposes. Everyone should take a moment to contribute to the research. You can take the survey here .

One of the things I have lamented here on my blog is the fact that, due to my current lifestyle, I am almost always unable to go see movies in theaters when they are first released, (hence all the DVD movie reviews I do here).  My friend Tony contacted me about a week ago wanted to see a review of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen , to which I had to explain I would probably have to wait until I saw the DVD version.  He took matters into his own hands and offered to write his OWN review of the movie theater version.  Thanks Tony! .

If you desire to have the competitors edge, learning how to jump higher is vital. In basketball, when you increase your vertical jump, your jump shot will be better, along with rebounding the basketball. As a defensive player, you will be more effective if you are able to jump higher in order to block your competitors shot.

Since sustainability is the flavor of the year and perhaps the century, it is time we started applying it to HOW we do things and not just those THINGS we buy and sell. Essentially, sustainability is about HOW things are made, HOW they operate over time, HOW they are recycled into other things or just left as junk in the earth. But we tend to ignore the inconvenient aspects.

Their physical likeness to our own species, and the possibility that humans and Neanderthals may have interacted, has long fascinated experts and enthusiastic novices alike.  But simply studying their skeletal remains and artifacts seemed to leave more questions than answers.
