Barbour focuses on national health careMississippi Gov. Haley Barbour focused on federal issues Thursday at the Neshoba County Fair, denouncing Democratic President Barack Obama’s proposals on health care and the environment. “Obamacare is a government-run health care system that would result in a federal government takeover of 18 percent of our economy,” Barbour told several hundred people under the tin-roofed pavilion on the fairgrounds outside Philadelphia.Full Associated Press story:

Dr. David Scheiner doesn’t think the president’s health care plan will work, but not for the reasons you might think . CNN’s Jim Acosta devoted a three-minute segment to the Scheiner’s left-wing criticism of the president’s health care plan, but excluded any other voices, even after the doctor took a shot at the insurance industry.

The more I reflect on the various proposals to overhaul the health care system in the United States, the more I begin to wonder if whether or not the solution is to find a way to replicate the old employer-based health insurance system using the consumer-based system that we’re now moving towards. As I’ve discussed in previous pieces on the subject, the problem with health care in America isn’t with the care itself, it’s with the inflated costs and limited access to that care due to a changing

Before the economy collapsed Obama’s big issue in the campaign was universal health care. It was the left’s saving grace, they promised health care for everyone, how could they lose. Upon arriving in Washington it seemed like government run health care would be a lock. However, it appears the public is backing off of their support for a universal plan. Wanting universal health care is like wanting to go skydiving, it sounds great until you’re looking out the side of a plane with a parachute strapped to your back.

Take one of the most unpopular politicians in America, have her go off half-cocked in a crude attempt to satisfy Democratic demands for a villain to demagogue in selling ObamaCare, then wait for the backlash. Bonus points for using the same Orwellian rhetorical device Paul Ryan called Katrina Vanden Heuvel on last night , namely, exploiting the language of competition to push one of the most anti-competitive domestic measures in American history.

We would still like healthcare reform legislation to succeed this year — but we are not nearly as enthusiastic about it as we were just a few short months ago. For starters, the Obama Administration isn’t calling it “healthcare reform” anymore. Now it’s “health insurance reform.” Reformers have lowered their sights. They aren’t trying to fix Big Pharma’s stranglehold on the American consumer anymore. All they are trying to do now is to offer a public alternative to Big Insurance.

When black panthers were caught on videotape menacing white voters in Philadelphia, using nightsticks and racial epithets to drive them away from the polls, Obama political appointees, including Assistant Attorney General Tom Perelli , intervened to dismiss the lawsuit that had been won against them by career Justice Department lawyers — dismissing the case after it had already been won!

Obama Fails By J.R. Dunn Over the past couple of weeks, it has become apparent even to politicians and the media that the Demented Spree Act of 2009, better known perhaps as the “Obama Stimulus”, has not worked, and shows no sign of ever working. Unemployment — the professed reason for the stimulus in the first place — is now at 9.5% and will break 10% within the next few months. Credit remains tight and industry is still fumbling.

Good news indeed! It’s looking as if the villagers are beginning to taking a hard second look at President Obama. Apparently Obama is no longer the Messiah. I see Obamacare and Gates-Gate as the two main factors causing this recent slip in approval ratings…. Be sure to check out the full report. American Life League is leading the charge in informing the public about Obama’s pro-death policies. His latest claim to ramroding a socialist agenda into your private and business lives is the Healthcare bill. He took six months to choose a family dog! Now he wants congress to vote on a healthcare bill none of them have even read! Wonder why? THIS is what we’re in for if it’s passed. Here’s the breakdown of JUST THE FIRST 500 pages … I hope YOU take the time to read the NEXT 517 pages and see what YOU can find. If you’re waiting for your people in Washington, DC to do it for you, you may literally DIE waiting!

Rasmussen first documented the rapid decline of Barack Obama’s approval numbers, and the rest of the pollsters soon followed suit. Pew Research, one of the most respected of the national pollsters, corroborates what Rasmussen and others have said for over a month — that Obama has undermined confidence in his administration’s ability to lead, especially on the economy and the deficit. His dustup with the Cambridge PD didn’t do anything to help, either:Barack Obama’s approval ratings have suffered major declines.

“I look at his program and I can’t see how it’s going to work . He has no cost control. There would be no effective cost control in his program. The [Congressional Budget Office] said it’s going be incredibly expensive … and the thing that I really am worried about is, if it is the failure that I think it would be, then health reform will be set back a long, long time.” Dr. David Scheiner , Obama’s personal physician for over 20 years talking about ObamaCare

She’s agin’ it : I know, most of you have already figured out why I oppose national health care. In a nutshell, I hate the poor and want them to die so that all my rich friends can use their bodies as mulch for their diamond ranches. But y’all keep asking, so here goes the longer explanation. Basically, for me, it all boils down to public choice theory. Once we’ve got a comprehensive national health care plan, what are the government’s incentives? I think they’re bad, for the same reason

You know the Universal Healthcare plans working their ways through congress are bad when Obamas own private physician is against it. From the Huffington Post The man Barack Obama consulted on medical matters for over two decades said on Tuesday that the president’s vision for health care reform is bound for failure. Dr. David Scheiner, a 70-year Chicago-based physician who treated Obama for more than 20 years, said he was disheartened by the health care legislation his former patient is championing, calling it piecemeal and ineffectual.

In response to the news that Rep. Baron Hill would vote for President Obama’s health care reform in the House Committee on Energy and Commerce before Friday, Indiana Republicans Thursday questioned Hill’s change of heart. “On Tuesday, Rep. Hill said he couldn’t support this legislation because it didn’t control costs,” pointed out Indiana Republican Party Chairman Murray Clark. “Yet on Wednesday, after hours of closed-door meetings with Democrat leaders, he announced he was ready to support it in committee.

Just to show you how fucking stupid people are to even begin to ponder this bullshit, take into consideration these facts: 1. The government can’t even properly fund and manage the so-called ‘Cash for Clunkers’ program that was supposed to pay for junking cars greater than one year old (hardly a clunker by definition). 2. Democrats, including Obama, haven’t even read the goddam bill, and even if they did it was changed yesterday and nobody has had time to read that either. 3.

“Blue Dogs” holding up passage of ObamaCare ? Stories of mythical “blue dogs” holding up the passage of ObamaCare are a red herring. Their message is nothing but compromise. July 30th, 2009 Celinda Lake: As we moved from general principles, support was bound to narrow. The major thing we need is for the president to define the plan and what the middle class and small businesses will get. Also he needs to reassure seniors that their medicare benefits will not be cut.
