OK… maybe no sex, and the videotape is more like YouTube video, but the lies certainly are the real deal. It takes some real street hubris to stand before the American people and accuse opponents of health care “reform” of spreading lies and distortions moments before lying to the American people, but President Obama is the right guy for the job.

Not one to shun from a fight, Camille Paglia is a dyed-in-the-wool liberal – that is not up for debate. But she remains intellectually honest, something the Obama-bots at Kos, TPM, MSNBC and CNN can’t fathom. Paglia, who still continues to support President Obama, has nothing but invective for Congress and the mishandling of healthcare reform by the administration. A friend sent me an email with a blurb about the new Whitehouse Health Insurance Reform Reality Check website, which can be accessed at: www.whitehouse.gov. The purpose of the website, ostensibly is to act as a rumor-control point; a rumor clearing house for people who want to know the real (reality) truth about health care reform.Of course, I went to the Whitehouse.gov website, and found the Reality Check information box with a link to the actual website.

After Pelosi noted that protesters had swastika signs, media claim she called them Nazis Following House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s comment that protestors are “carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on health care,” numerous conservatives have misrepresented her comment to claim that she referred to the protestors or opponents of health care reform as “Nazis.” Some conservatives have also falsely claimed Pelosi was lying or being misleading when she noted that protestors have had signs with swastika symbols.

Lorie Byrd Tuesday, August 11, 2009 Over the weekend, Democrat congressional leaders Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer wrote of the recent protests taking place in town hall meetings around the country, “These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American.” The White House is concerned that their health care plan is not being accurately characterized.

I’ve been growing more and more infuriated by the lies, evasions and deliberate mendacity of those seeking to shove the monstrosity that is Obamacare down our throats. Most recently, as you’re probably aware, a father with a disabled son tried to call his representative, only to have all of his calls ignored. When he wheeled his son into a public meeting, and insisted on voicing his concerns, his representative lied to him, saying that an amendment to the legislation would cover his son’s situation (there was and is no such amendment), and then proceeded to write him off as an outside agitator (he’s actually a resident of that representative’s constituency).

Tuesday, August 11, 2009.  Chaos and violence continue, the US military announces a death, officials say Iraq’s biggest threat to stability is the Kurds, unless officials say Iraq’s biggest threat to stability is the PKK, and more.   Today the US Dept of Defense announced a death in Iraq and i.d.ed the fallen, Spc Richard A. Walters Jr. who died in yesterday from “injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident.”  Currently, the link is not working.  If it’s still not working when the snapshot goes up, we’ll note the passing in tomorrow’s snapshot as well.

Democrats took over the White House much as they did when they elected Bill Clinton, by demonizing Republicans sufficiently enough to fool a lot of people – people who are basically stupid and ignorant of things to an extent where they will vote for an emotion without thinking of cause and effect. In fact, if you look at how the Democrats have won the White House since Nixon, what do you find? Carter won because Nixon imploded. Clinton lied and snaked his way in, and still could not have done it without the vote being splintered by Ross Perot.
