“Dirty secret No. 1 in Obamacare is about the government’s coming into homes and usurping parental rights over child care and development. It’s outlined in sections 440 and 1904 of the House bill (Page 838), under the heading ‘home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children.’ The programs (provided via grants to states) would educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills.

Something I’ve believed for a very, very long time. Liberals are really communists. That’s as true as it comes. Ah, ah, ah… keep reading before you let the old knee start jerking. What exactly does liberal mean? Well, basically it comes from liberty, free from bondage, little or no “big brother” control over one’s life, kind of a “if it feels good, do it” type of thought, individual liberty.

Apparently Representative Eric Massa (D- NY) has forgotten just who in the hell he works for! He told a group that he will vote against what his district wants if he’s able to get single payer health care. This issue is far from over and I advise everyone to watch what they are doing when they get off their summer break. I have a hard time believing Representative Massa is the only one with this attitude. These people actually feel that we, the people, don’t know what’s good for us and we need him to go against our will to prove it.

The recent announcement by the White House that they are dropping/will accept no public option in their health reform bill has cause the already comatose Intrade market prediction of passage of a federal government run health insurance plan (public option) to completely tank, going from 35% chance of passage to a 14% chance of passage. This is the single best predictor of the future known to exist — people making bets with real money about the outcome of the future. Check out the straight down line on this graph .

So says black Congressman James Clyburn. When liberals and non-whites dissent, they’re patriotic Americans standing up for their principles. When white conservatives dissent, they’re racists: The third-ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives on Thursday compared the disruptive protesters at recent health care town halls to people who unleashed dogs and spat on civil rights demonstrators during the 1960s.In an interview with the Huffington Post, Rep.

It’s Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY), who — to his credit — did actually bother holding a town hall with his constituents. He won’t end up listening to what they want him to do, but even pretending to listen is more than some Democrats are willing to do. The man is either lying or terribly ignorant. Medicare has over $36 trillion in unfunded liabilities. Yes, trillion . And that’s just for the next 25 years. It’s not conservative spin, that’s the number listed in the official 2008 Financial Report of the United States Government .

Olivia Jane at the Daily Kos urges viewers to sign a petition for boycotting Whole Foods products . Don Boudreaux at Cafe Hayek sums up the debate and links to other views.

As the pressure from angry constituents, Republican, Democrat and Independent alike over ObamaCare continues to ratchet up, many Congress Cowards are finding political safehouses in the friendly confines in the halls of their union masters. No muss, no fuss. (unless someone actually wants a non-scripted answer from their representative about the subject. And this assumes they even have access to a microphone) A few examples: Rep.

The idea of offering incentives for medical professionals to discuss “end-of-life issues” with elderly patients and their families has become the lightning rod of the health-care debate—less, by the way, because conservatives latched on to it with the “death panel” label but because liberals thought they had the Right dead to rights with the “death panel” accusation. Surely, they believed, the forces arrayed against ObamaCare had gone too far; surely the “death panel” charge would boomerang against the anti’s, and finally the health-care package would take wing.

It’s this week’s fashion on the left, and among such fashionably contemplative moderates as Mort Kondracke, to blast Rush Limbaugh for comparing Democrats to the Nazis. It’s no surprise that the Obama hardcores are misrepresenting the sequence and substance of events, but I would have hoped that Kondracke would at least have noted that Rush’s comparison — even if Kondracke thought it unwise — was neither gratuitous nor demagogic.

I reported here and here about the White House’s “fishy” expedition, a request that supporters turn in emails/websites giving contrary information on Obamacare . And as of today, the request is STILL UP . But according to a Politico article today, reported by Drudge (currently top link), the email address no longer works: Following a furor over how the data would be used, the White House has shut down an electronic tip box - flag@whithouse.gov - that was set up to receive information on “fishy” claims about President Barack Obama’s health plan.

Geraldo Rivera … INSANE! Why does Geraldo want Obamacare and against Free Speech? Maybe it will serve as the cure for his Bush Derangement Syndrome? So what does Geraldo Rivera have against people using their Constitutional rights? There is nothing like a cause that affects “We the People” to show just how liberal some of these cable show types really are. Rivera went insane and compared Tea Party protesters against Obamacare at the town hall meetings to the “Brooks Brothers” wearing demonstrators who stole the election for George Bush.

…and not a moment too soon. Politico reports that the email address the White House had set up to collect “fishy” claims about Obamacare, for who knows what purpose, has been shut down. Why is it shut down? Is it that they had collected enough “chain emails” and reports of “casual conversations” to go on?

LTE is a major step forward in the march toward entirely IP-based mobile communications and full 4G wireless. We’re still sorting through the health-care deal Henry Waxman struck with Blue Dog Democrats recently, but one 11th-hour revision stands out. Namely, veterans will now be “exempt from the requirements of the legislation.” That’s how Mr. Waxman’s staff put it in a memo to reporters earlier this month, announcing amendments that the House Energy and Commerce Committee included before passing the bill 31 to 28.

It is not enough for President Obama to put forward a series of utterly false statements on behalf of his effort to engineer the wholesale reinvention of American health care. No, he has to position himself as the great truth teller in the process. His critics are “simply dishonest,” Obama said during his health-care town-hall meeting in Grand Junction, Colorado, on Saturday. In his New York Times op-ed , Obama decries the “wild misrepresentations” of his detractors.

Matt Drudge doesn’t have a chance when he reports the facts as they are. A frequent abuser of headlines and false stories, The Drudge Report has become synonymous with bottom-of-the-barrel news. Fox News, The Drudge Report, Rush Limbaugh, and the GOP have got themselves a fine operation of misinformation going between them. As we’ve shown ad nauseum here on Left Agenda here , here , here , here , here , and here , The Drudge Report makes a special effort to give misleading headlines, false no-link headlines, spread obvious lies as truths, etc., etc.

There’s a debate going on in this country that is far wider than health care. Health care is the current battle; but the war is over the size, scope, and power of government over our lives. The left wants more government, and more, and more. Government as God, the State as Savior. Statolatry, the idolatry of a worship of and dependence upon the state rather than God. And the American people compelled to abandon the free market system for one featuring increasing government control over every aspect, even as the government increasingly intrudes into every sphere of not only our social but even our private lives.

During the Bush administration, many within the dominant culture expressed concern about the constitutionality of detaining several hundred alleged enemy combatants in Guantanamo. Whenever legal restrictions on abortion are proposed, many express doubt about the constitutionality of interjecting government between patients and their doctors. But those voices have been mostly silent about the constitutionality of empowering the federal government with decisions over the life, death, and health of three hundred million Americans.

Nationalized, socialized, single payer health care under the United States Constitution does not exist. PERIOD. What we are debating is an issue that is NOT laid out in the ENUMERATED powers of the United States Constitution. Dan Mitchell continues his invaluable series of videos explaining the policies of fiscal conservativism and the virtues of free-market economics from the Center for Freedom and Prosperity Foundation. In this installment, Mitchell explains a couple of key points on both free markets and the nature of government spending, which comes at the end. Before that, though, Mitchell makes the point again that the nature of the private sector lends itself to innovation and efficiency, while the nature of government doesn’t:One might expect this to be obvious, but unfortunately many people seem to have forgotten why private-sector competition works.

Possible Death of the Public Option: What’s the Big Deal? - poplife.biz 08/17/2009 “Look, kids, there’s the chasm between the parties on health-care reform.”The big news in the ongoing battle for health-care reform is that the White House may be backing away from a public option, which President Obama has said he favors as a way to reduce costs and ensure that most Americans obtain insurance.

Defenders of ObamaCare assert that their critics are nothing more than obstructionists who like the current health care system or who just don’t want the president to prevail on health care because they didn’t vote for him. Neither charge is informed or fair. The fact is that critics of an increased federal role in manipulating the health-insurance market have long advocated major reforms of the tax and regulatory systems to give patients more power over their own lives and medical choices, reforms that are already bearing fruit in the growing market for consumer-driven health care.

That seems to be President Obama’s way. This White House defines a goal like Arab-Israeli Peace in the Middle East, or Health Care for All, and goes hell for leather, damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead — without ever pausing to think, or to listening to people who have spent decades dealing with these questions — if they dissent from Obama orthodoxy.

The Wall Street Journal looks at why the elderly are more and more opposed to ObamaCare . While claims about euthanasia and “death panels” are over the top, senior fears have exposed a fundamental truth about what Mr. Obama is proposing: Namely, once health care is nationalized, or mostly nationalized, rationing care is inevitable, and those who have lived the longest will find their care the most restricted. Far from being a scare tactic, this is a logical conclusion based on experience and common-sense.

The White House is against us. The press is against us. Both houses of congress are against us. Too many Republican leaders are against us. But even in the face of these overwhelming odds, the power of Conservatism still gets results. The average Americans speaking out town hall meeting has slowed ObamaCare to a crawl and put Obama and the dems on defense. Sarah Palin single handedly forced the dems to remove the “death panel” references in their bill. And, it’s just been announced on Drudge that Obama has closed down flag@whitehouse.gov.

This has nothing directly to do with homeschooling, but as homeschoolers we want to teach our children about the workings of government and also about using critical thinking to see through bad legislation. Dems confess hopes to eliminate private healthcare: I hate to keep harping on this Obama/Democrat health care proposal. It seems as if it has nothing to do with homeschooling, but homeschooling is all about freedom to educate our children as we see fit, and the health care debate is actually about freedom versus government control in making our own health care decisions.

The Republican party of the United States of America should be engaging the Democrats in intelligent debate. They need to force the Democrats to define the problem they are trying to solve. That problem is not simply soaring health care costs and insurance industry bad practices. Related posts: Harry & Louise: stealth free market health care supporters Harry and Louise first made the national scene in a… Health care needs to be reformed.

I believe strongly that there is a problem with access to health care. It is being presented as a health care problem though the two are distinctly different. Govenrment control is not the answer. “We the people” (to borrow the phrase from an old document, somewhat disdained by the federal government) need to see options because the largely derelict Congress is either incompetent as an institution to deal with this or unwilling to do the jobs that they are paid and benefitted to do. Either way, this situation is unacceptable. It is to each of us (AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN!) to demand accountability not only from our Senators and Representatives, but from Congress and this silly excuse for a president.
It is a bit odd to hear the Democratic party complaint that there is no bi-partisan dialogue on the matter. They’ve prevented the Republican ideas from being heard in Congress and the list of constituent meetings (townhalls) that have been cancelled reads strongly Democratic Party. It is most unsettling that the main stream media (the alphabet soup - ABCNBCMSNBCCBSCNNNPRPBS [THAT WAS FUN]) decline to report this in favor of leading the cheering section for these dishonest and derelIct government officials. I don’t want to hear a single word about “journalistic integrity.” It isn’t there and hasn’t been for generations.
It must be understood that the president is lying. Liars lie. Figure it out on your own. His protestations are totally without merit. Know this thing: The powers assigned to the federal government in the language of this proposal are real, fascist in nature and exceedingly dangerous to every person in this country. This is a point in the history of this nation where there is no room for being irresponsible. The people must speak loudly, clearly and honeslty.
We are where we are because too many people just handed it over to “the smart guys in DC.” So we have what we deserve. It’s up to us individually to demand that those “smart guys” remember who they work for or show them the door.
