Question: Do any of the various obamacare bills floating around congress specifically state, “The government of the United States of America will fund abortions?”  The short answer is, “Obviously not!” Obviously, because even abortion-loving, leftist Democrats know that including such language or any other language suggesting government-endorsed payments for terminating the lives of the pre-born in any obamacare package would ignite a firestorm of opposition and doom it to failure.

In today’s Washington Post, RNC Chairman Michael Steele outlined what the GOP is calling it’s Senior Health Care Bill Of Rights: PROTECT MEDICARE AND NOT CUT IT IN THE NAME OF HEALTH CARE REFORM: President Obama and Congressional Democrats are promoting a government-run health care experiment that will cut over $500 billion from Medicare to be used to pay for their plan. Medicare should not be raided to pay for another entitlement. Yes, you read that right.

Here’s another fun detail from last night’s Americans For Prosperity teletown hall, which featured Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN). Both politicians said that if a health care bill passes, it should be actively fought and resisted through a collective effort of conservative governors. A caller asked DeMint what the states could do [...]

Via Memeorandum : If the Left wishes to bring the heart breaking case of Terri Schiavo in to the health care debate something more honest than The Schiavo Saga and “Death Panels”. The author attempts to smear those who tried unsuccessfully to protect Terri as hypocrites: This isn’t just an amusing example of hypocrisy, however.

Michelle Obama placed an article up this morning about Daschle and his ties to Obama.  She also placed several tidbits from her book on the blog and Chapter One is HORRENDOUS!  The cheating and infightng is comical and sad.  I just wonder where in the United States Constitution all of this is sanctioned. From Michelle Malkin about half-way down: [...] Another empty promise. Over the weekend, the New York Times detailed just how cozy Daschle has been with the White House and the health care industry over the past six months.

The Detroit Free Press noticed something that flew over the heads of the mainstream media: Obama’s healthcare plan includes $10 billion to supplement pension plans in big unions . Buried in HR3200 is “80 cents on the dollar to corporate and union insurance plans for claims between $15,000 and $90,000 for retirees age 55 to 64,” with 30 cents per dollar in the future. This explains why the unions are astroturfing the town halls and violently suppressing the opposition.

No kidding. The feds want “all baby boys born in the United States” circumcised. Experts are also considering whether the surgery should be offered to adult heterosexual men whose sexual practices put them at high risk of infection. But they acknowledge that a circumcision drive in the United States would be unlikely to have a drastic impact: the procedure does not seem to protect those at greatest risk here, men who have sex with men.

Cynical yet effective, at least short-term.Republicans want reform that should, first, do no harm, especially to our seniors. That is why Republicans support a Seniors’ Health Care Bill of Rights, which we are introducing today, to ensure that our greatest generation will receive access to quality health care. We also believe that any health-care reform should be fully paid for, but not funded on the backs of our nation’s senior citizens. The Republican Party’s contract with seniors includes tenets that Americans, regardless of political party, should support.

He will quickly discover how government bureaucrats are greasing the slippery slope that can start with cost containment but quickly become a systematic denial of care.

President Obama said on Saturday: “Some are also saying that coverage for abortions would be mandated under reform. Also false. When it comes to the current ban on using tax dollars for abortions, nothing will change under reform.” FactCheck.org reported on Friday: “As for the House bill as it stands now, it’s a matter of fact that it would allow both a “public plan” and newly subsidized private plans to cover all abortions.” The House bill would mandate the establishment of at least one insurance plan that covers elective abortions in every regional health-care “exchange” for federally-subsidized plans.

These ‘private/public partnerships” are great aren’t they? Private gets the tax dollars and the public gets screwed. We got the Treasury/bankster partnership. We got the Pharma/Obamacare partnership. We got the GM/Treasury partnership. We got the car dealer/clunker czar partnership. We got the Union retirement fund bailout/Treasury partnership. Hate to tell you folks, but the “capitalist” CEO’s want to shift their employees to Obamacare from expensive private health care, too.

In one of this morning’s editorials, the Union-Tribune claims that “many Americans oppose” the so-called “public option” part of proposed healthcare reform “because they think that it will undermine private insurance.” The editorial also claims that “Obamacare is unpopular with the majority of Americans.” It appears that the editorial writer is doing some kind of language dance aimed at implying that there are more Americans opposed to the idea of setting up a government-run insurance plan to compete with private insurance than there are who are supportive of it.

In his August 23 column “Where Bush Missed, Obama has a Shot,” Los Angeles Times columnist Doyle McManus [email him] says Americans who oppose taxpayer-funded health care for illegal aliens are spreading “misinformation,” telling “whoppers,” etc. When I noted to him that the present House version of Obama-care provides no mechanism to verify citizenship of applicants and that the Democratic leadership has thus far defeated all attempts to add “strong enforcement measures”, McManus responded with the same language one routinely hears from those in Washington who call themselves representatives and senators:Dear Mr.

After enraged constituents started showing up at Congressional town-hall forums to oppose ObamaCare, the unions acted quickly to counterdemonstrate on behalf of the Democratic agenda item.  In at least one case, union representatives used violence to intimidate and harrass ObamaCare opponents.  The same union, which represents a large percentage of government workers and would be presumably immune from any health-care reform action, issued memos demanding volunteers to “drown out” opposition to ObamaCare.

I don’t know which is more dispiriting: the New York Times ‘ failure to call Betsy McCaughey a liar, or Barack Obama’s failure to call Chuck Grassley a liar. It’s tempting to think of both failures as cowardice, a mortal fear of being branded “liberal.” But ironically it’s liberalism itself that makes them both mistake their cowardice for fair-mindedness. Exhibit A is how the Times covered Jon Stewart’s evisceration of McCaughey on The Daily Show .

The broohaa over the anti-ObamaCare opinion piece by Whole Foods’ CEO John Mackey in the WSJ highlights for us once again the danger of being a two-faced CEO.

Health Care and Infant Mortality: The Real Storyamericayouaskedforit.wordpress.com

by Steve Chapman at Townhall.com The American medical system has the latest technology, the greatest variety of new drugs and unparalleled resources. But anyone who thinks we’re getting something great for our dollars inevitably encounters a two-word rebuke: infant mortality. The United States is the richest nation on Earth, but it comes in 29th in the world in survival rates among babies. This mediocre ranking is supposed to make an irrefutable case for health care reform.
