Annotations & Elucidations Or Should That Be “Putsch”? The state headlines are dominated by the controversy over Delegate Phil Hamilton. Read all about it. Apparently, a single delegate seat trumps coverage of the state wide races. Moving on . . . In National News, the AP uncovers shocking news: Politics, believe it or not, has a role in where the porkulus bill money is spent! Imagine that! There’s another observation — that Americans don’t trust government to run health care.

It’s easy to assume the unions are so vocal, and physical, proponents of the Democrat Health Care plan because they believe the issue is important and they want it to succeed. It’s even logical to assume they are fighting because the are political allies of the Democrat party and share the same goals. However, when you look at the health care bill they are stomping people over, you see the real reason they are out in force. They get paid $10 billion if it passes: Antilabor forces say it’s welfare for the UAW and Democrats’ union allies.

This may be one reason : Obamacare bails out union pension plans, too Union bosses who have mismanaged benefits for their own members are poised to receive a $10 billion bailout from U.S. taxpayers in the form of a “reinsurance program” that has been folded into the healthcare bill, according to the Workforce Fairness Institute (WFI). This provision should be viewed as part of a larger payback effort the Obama White House and top congressional figures have set up in exchange for the support they have received from organized labor, Katie Packer, executive director of WFI said.

I called out GOP fake hate crime perpetrator Ashley Todd last year and have documented a long list of hoax crimes across party, racial, and gender lines for nearly two decades. So, the latest case of so-called progressives vandalizing a Democrat headquarters in Denver comes as no surprise. And neither does the initial attempt by Colorado Democrats to blame hate by the other side and to shamelessly tie the crime to town hall protesters.

Up and down the Democrat food chain from the high and mighty Obama to the lowliest hack, every, single Democrat swears that “Obamacare absolutely, positively, cannot ever in a million, zillion years provide coverage to illegal immigrants.” This is one of those lies of omission rather than commission, because according to the Congressional Research Service: “H.R.3200 does not contain any restrictions on non-citizens–whether legally or illegally present.” Further, since there is no

“The debate over the public option has, as I said, been depressing in its inanity. Opponents of the option not just Republicans, but Democrats like Senator Kent Conrad and Senator Ben Nelson have offered no coherent arguments against it. Mr. Nelson has warned ominously that if the option were available, Americans would choose it over private insurance which he treats as a self-evidently bad thing, rather than as what should happen if the government plan was, in fact, better than what private

I woke up this morning and the first thing I see on the computer is Ted Kennedy’s mug looking at me with the headline, ‘The Most Important Kennedy’. I yawned and wished I could go back to bed but our RAV4 was in the shop and we had to pick it up this morning (it had a bad ignition coil). So I had to drive the better half into Salt Lake and pick it up so she could get to work. I then went into work early. Ted Kennedy is dead and life goes on.

Barack Obama picked up considerable political support for his overhaul of the American health-care system by promising a limit on price concessions to the pharmaceutical manufacturers. They signed onto ObamaCare after getting assurances that their givebacks would amount to no more than $80 billion over 10 years and that the federal government would not try to bargain for lower pricing using its advantage through Medicare.

(NOTE: It has been confirmed that Senator Edward Kennedy has passed away today at the age of 77. I will refuse, for now, to address my misgivings about the man to issue condolences to his friends and family. Theirs is a pain I would wish on nobody.) Yesterday, the Democratic National Convention headquarters was vandalized. Windows that protected ObamaCare posters, artwork and other such things were smashed. The perps were caught on tape with shirts over their heads and hoodie sweatshirts to hide their identities.

I considered posting this a week ago, but had much to do to get my projects ready for the North Idaho Fair. From canning, to crafting, to needlework and then baking; I was really rather busy. But, there were certain revelations that I definitely kept in mind for the moment when I would have a few free moments. Betsy McCoy was invited onto “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” at one point last week. She brought with her the over 1,000 page health care reform package and planned to point out to

HuffPo : Gang of Six Repulican Admit’s He’s Simply Blocking Obamacare . I don’t understand why a liberal would allow a Republican Senator to entertain such delusions of grandeur. No Republican can stop Obamacare from passing. Democrats control both houses of Congress and the White House. If Obamacare never becomes a reality, Democrats will have no one to blame but themselves.

Got a hot tip from someone on the Rapid City “not so public” forum with Herseth Sandlin as to what went on outside at the event: About 50 Young Professionals attended the private Herseth meeting in Rapid City yesterday. Outside the Holiday Inn, there were about 35 Anti-ObamaCare protestors. Even though the public was excluded from the event by Herseth because the meeting became private all of a sudden, KOTA and KNBN were both there to cover the event. Anyone get Pictures?

We just came across this observation, which applies as much today as it did when first written by the Supreme Court justice in 1832: “ Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall, when the wise are banished from the public councils, because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded, because they flatter the people, in order to betray them .” ~ Joseph Story, Commentairies on the Constitution Profligates rewarded for flattering the populace with betrayal in mind.

I KNOW that the “end-of-life” provisions have been said to have been removed from the bill and all but, Kennedy would have had to go by that rule or law anyway seeing that he was on the BEST HEALTH CARE PLAN in the world…congressional type. Our “Obamacare” will NOT provide for all of that. I HAVE READ THE BILL AND HR3200 DOESN’T SAY WE GET CONGRESSIONAL CARE!

Makes sense. He was an archetypal tax-and-spend liberal and the living symbol of dynastic politics. What better way to mark the passing of a royal than to deplete the state treasury erecting a monument to his greatness?Just as Limbaugh predicted, incidentally.Jennifer Duffy, a senior editor at the Cook Political Report, said the news will strengthen Democrats’ resolve to get a bill passed.

…and all things being equal I would have kept quiet about Ted Kennedy’s passing last night. Safe to say I have never been a fan of his; quite clearly the man was an embarrassment and if his last name had been Fabrizio or Wojciewicz he would have been drummed out of the Senate with all possible haste after any of his scandals. But today would normally be a day for the Left to wail and gnash teeth at the death of one of their sainted heroes and I’d be content to shut up.

Thousands of women are having to give birth outside maternity wards because of a lack of midwives and hospital beds. The lives of mothers and babies are being put at risk as births in locations ranging from lifts to toilets – even a caravan – went up 15 per cent last year to almost 4,000. Health chiefs admit a lack of maternity beds is partly to blame for the crisis, with hundreds of women in labour being turned away from hospitals because they are full.

The American Association of Retired Liberal Persons (AARLP) has launched an all-out blitz in support of ObamaCare, even though older Americans have the most to lose should this travesty ever get passed into law. In other words, the AARLP, which is supposed to work in the best interests of its membership, has instead become more or less a wing of the Democrat Party, and, as such, is working against the very citizens who support the organization.

I wanted to update the former post with the following, which is a bit better. The host of issues surrounding the healthcare debate continues to grow on a daily basis as each of the bills in Congress are scrutinized by groups on both sides. However, one piece of the puzzle, the actual administration of the program, has been for the most part ignored as even the best crystal ball is unable to peer through the bureaucratic fog of a government program yet to be realized.

By: Dr. Owens Don’t be fooled. The Progressives may backpedal. They may make noises about dropping the government option. They may call Obamacare insurance reform. They may talk about saving money and being more efficient. But they won’t retreat from their objective of re-making America into a nation of the government, by the government and for the government. All this backpedaling shows is that Progressives can’t campaign on what they really intend to do because they know that despite generations of dumbing-down education and endless Mainstream Media propaganda this is still a center-right nation.

Since Democrats didn’t get to ram through ObamaCare before Congress’ August recess as President Obama had wanted, we’re learning more and more about H.R. 3200, the ObamaCare bill. The more we learn, the more we realize that we don’t want this. And so the White House has gone into full damage control by telling the American people that the truth we have learned is really a myth, and the zombie-like press is dutifully playing along with the charade.

As recently as Saturday, far-left Bucks County Democrat Congressman Patrick Murphy repeated the lie that the ObamaCare plan for a government run health care system would not cover illegal immigrants. by AlexinCT Its seems that the page one Denver Post article insinuating evil & racists conservatives/republicans against Obamacare destroyed democrat headquarter property yesterday has been trumped by a back page article pointing out that the perp was a hard core democrat operative . Even more unbelievable is the attempt by the democrat chairwoman that was all ready to lambaste Obama-haters on Tuesday and called a hate crime, to now pretend this is no big deal, or that both sides are at fault!

Citing the exploding budget deficit numbers, the editorial page of the Washington Post calls for the end of Obamacare The new deficit numbers make it even more urgent that any health-care reform not only be fully paid for and certifiably budget-neutral in the eyes of independent analysts such as the CBO but also promise meaningful reductions in the cost growth of health care. So far, none of the plans under discussion measure up. The time is fast approaching for the president and Congress to face that reality, too.

Another dynamite find by Verum Serum, on an endless mission to expose liberal doublespeak about what the public option would mean in practice. First clip is from two years ago, the second clip — declaring the arguments against the public option to be “sheer nonsense” — from last weekend. My only quibble with VS is that they seem to think there’s some dissembling here by Krugman. But there’s no contradiction: He’d clearly love to see ObamaCare metastasize into socialized medicine, ergo any arguments against that happening are nonsense.

Gov. Schwarzenegger has a good idea to rid the government of stuff it shouldn’t have in the first place and recoup a buck or two in the process. He’s holding a garage sale on eBay and Craig’s list. As we reported it , the governor is even going to autograph some cars. Hm. Considering how far his favorability rating has plummeted, is that a good idea? Doesn’t the state want to get as much as possible for the used cars? Would defacing a car with graffiti add to the value? Would his name scrawled on it devalue it more? Then again, they only have to find one buyer who thinks otherwise.

Matt Rooney | August 26, 2009 That didn’t take long, did it? From Politico: Ailing Senator Robert Byrd, one of only two to have served longerthan Kennedy, suggests in an emotional statement renaming the pendinghealth care legislation for the late Massachusetts Senator: “In his honor and as a tribute to his commitment to hisideals, let us stop the shouting and name calling and have a civilizeddebate on health care reform which I hope, when legislation has beensigned into law, will bear his name for his commitment to insuring thehealth of every American.” I told you this would happen, Save Jerseyans.

Plans include the installation of a fitting memorial located outside the corporate office building.

I was at a friend’s house a few nights ago for a little informal gathering. When we were chatting he had his iPod providing some background music. One of the songs that came on was from the “Woodstock” soundtrack. So there I was in a kitchen full of conservative upper middle class Midwesterners who were suddenly waxing poetic about how great Woodstock was. What happened next was the kind of thing I do that keeps me off the party circuit. I said something to the effect that Woodstock was an unmitigated disaster and a perfect metaphor for the Obama administration.

MSNBC, 8:21pmET: This actually comes from last night: a chyron about the health care debate. And it comes form Countdown with Keith Olbermann . You can probably guess which side it comes down on – but the implication seems like even more of a stretch than usual. “GOP to US: Drop Dead” is even more hyperbolic than a usual Countdown chyron. Here’s Olbermann and The Nation editor Christopher Hayes discussing the GOP opposition to Obamacare. Which apparently calls back to death panels.

On July 15, 2009, Representative Mike Rogers (R-Mich) told the U.S. House of Representatives that Democrats offered a false choice in the healthcare debate. (Watch Video) Although the majority party (Democrat) has the prerogative to demand that their legislation be considered with no changes (what Representative Rogers refers to as the “this or nothing” approach), the idea that Republicans have offered no alternatives to the Democrat plan is simply not true. Republicans have offered three alternatives so far, the “ Patients Choices Act of 2009 ,” produced in May by a bicameral coalition of the U.S.

Apparently, the town hall meetings – with health care first and foremost on their minds - are effective, at least in the minds of the constituents who have attended them. And that bears itself out in a recent telephone poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports . If Democrats agree on a health care reform bill that is opposed by all Republicans in Congress, 24% of voters nationwide say the Democrats should pass that bill.

(That comes out to 25 total favor, 37 percent total oppose.) The pollsters found that 38 percent said the more they hear about the plan, the more they like it; 49 percent said the more they hear, the less they like it.

By PoliPundit ~ August 26th, 2009 @ 8:15 am Someone has to do the ghoulish job of analyzing the political fallout from Ted Kennedy’s death. So here are some possibilities, in no particular order:Kennedy’s death serves as a rallying cry for Congressional Democrats to back ObamaCare and damn the consequences. The Democrats screw up the Kennedy funeral, like they did Paul Wellstone’s funeral, and alienate the country. While voters are sympathetic to the Kennedys, they still oppose ObamaCare.

Heated partisan debate over President Obama’s health care plan, erupting at town hall meetings and in the blogosphere, has more to do with our illogical thought processes than reality, sociologists are finding. Health Care Debate Based on Total Lack of Logic We all know liberal elites think we regular folks are stupid, ignorant dummies they need to control. Yesterday they claimed we still believed health care “myths” that are declared “myths” by the White House.
