Once the Obama Administration completed their goal of passing an enormous spending bill with the promise of stimulating the US economy, they immediately set their sights on passing legislation to control the health care system throughout the nation. The Democrats are seeking to replicate the socialized medicine systems of other industrialized nations such as Britain, Canada and Japan, but they are using the tactics of misinformation and stealth to achieve their goal. In the latest TWS, Fred Barnes writes on the need for tort reform in health-care reform: tort reform remains a key to paring costs. The president can make a stab at directly cutting back spending on health care, but that’s bound to add to the political unpopularity of Obamacare and is unlikely to pass even an overwhelmingly Democratic Congress. In particular, shrinking Medicare spending is a nonstarter, given the furious opposition of seniors. Tort reform, in contrast, has the advantage of being popular.

Glenn Beck summarized…… - fareastcynic.com 08/30/2009 By Howard Beale. Whenver I see Glen Beck on the TV-either at work or normally in the gym, where I crank up the speed on the treadmill because my anger towards the good Mr. Beck gets pumped up-I always think of the movie Network. Because in the personage of Glenn Beck, Bill O’ Reilly, and Michelle Malkin-the absurd satire of Paddy Chayfesky’s story has become reality. One of the things that’s great about Network is that we see how thin the divide between news and sensationalism really are.

Here is CHANGE you can believe in … According to a recent Rasmussen Poll, 57% of voters would vote to replace the entire Congress and start all over again. Only 25% would keep the current Congress. So much for the Democratic leadership in the House and Senate and any so-called Democratic revolution . If Democrats vote for the unpopular Obamacare against the wishes of “We the People” the 2010 midterms will be Democrat carnage. Smile Harry, Maybe the American voters won’t notice they hate us.

Day By Day by Chris Muir Linking the recently deceased Senator Ted Kennedy to Obamacare is wishful thinking by the FAR LEFT. Americans KNOW Obamacare has been drafted by radical leftists in the Obama Administration and in the offices of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. Ted Kennedy’s contribution to the current health care reform debate will fade this Fall as the Blue Dog Democrats scramble to avoid political fallout from the President’s insistence on nationalizing health care.

There’s a pretty starling thing in the bill that 95% of Americans won’t like. The Obama Health care bill under Class II (Paragraph 1, Section B) specifically includes (ii) a class II device that is implantable.” Then on page 1004 it describes what the term “data” means in paragraph 1, section B: 14 (B) In this paragraph, the term data refers to in15 formation respecting a device described in paragraph (1), 16 including claims data, patient survey data, standardized 17 analytic files that

On a personal note. I think the Obama poster in question is quite clever. Link @YouTube This video was taken on Tuesday, August 25th, 2009 at Rep. Jim Moran’s (D-VA) Town Hall meeting on Obama Deathcare (Howie Dean was there too) held at South Lakes High School in Reston, VA.

My wife heard Gerald Connolly on Fox News just a few minutes ago say that his town hall meetings were “very civilized” and that he wasn’t sure how he was going to vote on portions of it. I will be sending Fox News a message about this but this is nothing but a pack of lies. Were so mad we could spit nails. We contacted Connolly’s office three times in the last several weeks and participated in two demonstrations against Obamacare, Aug 22nd and 25th.

Rob Portman explained his solidly conservative positions against ObamaCare and cap-and-trade in this video interview outside of a fundraiser at the home of Jim Smail . Considering the leftist radicalism you will find among the two Democrat challengers, Lee Fisher and Jennifer Brunner, there is no doubt that Rob Portman is the only Ohio senatorial candidate remotely interested in shrinking government and unleashing America’s entrepreneurs to create the type of prosperity that statists could never legislate into existence.

In my second response to Hanna Rosin’s posts on circumcision at The Daily Dish, I closed with this: As a circumcised male, why do I care whether circumcision is mandated by the government or merely by my parents? The result - forced circumcision - is the same for me. Basically, Rosin engages in the “if you don’t like circumcision, don’t circumcise your son” defense. This is wrong. The case against circumcision centers on the boy as a (healthy) human being, not the boy as a son of parents making a choice.

And she had to go into hyper overdrive to defend dear old Dad on torture. I’ll give her this, she’s tenacious, and seems to believe what she’s saying. How much effort did this girl have to put her conscience through these past eight years? That’s a long time to over-rationalize.

This is a curious re-election strategy, especially for a Representative who made her name by bird-dogging her former Congressman at his town-hall forums. Consistency isn’t Carol Shea-Porter’s strong suit, apparently, as she demonstrates in this clip from the meeting she finally held with constituents after dodging them for most of the month. When one of her constituents challenges the presence of union enforcers in the crowd, Shea-Porter asks for police intervention:I’ve watched this video a couple of times, and I still can’t figure out why the police took this man out of the room.

Health Care through the Eyes of an Independent By Tim Giago (Nanwica Kciji) © 2009 Native Sun News August 31, 2009 Let me define my position on health care for all Americans by saying that I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican. I am instead a Conservative Independent with a clear view of what is happening on the left and the right of me because, for the most part, I sit squarely in the middle. Two of the largest ethnic voting blocs in America are the African Americans and the Hispanics.

I just got back from being on the road with Americans for Prosperity in Madison, LaCrosse, and Wausau after a successful health care reform town hall series. The event that sent the message to those who wanted to distort Americans for Prosperity was over 2,000 people showing up at the Marriott Madison West on Wednesday night. There were a few people that tried to disrupt the event, but those who tried to heckle John Stossel were out-numbered by the amount of people who came looking for answers on the health care reform they could not get anywhere else.

Obama simply miscalculated the American electorates willingness to throw out a health care system that insures over 80% of us, has led the world in technological innovation, and provides a good measure of autonomy for individuals to choose their doctors and treatment options. He had a terrible time selling ObamaCare because it was a terrible idea. It turns out Americans dont want to replace an imperfect but very good health care system with a lowest-common denominator, government-run system that has given worse care and led to greater dissatisfaction than private insurance when tried in other countries.

If Barack Obama hoped to gain some breathing room with his vacation, or perhaps even pick up some sympathetic vibe for eulogizing Ted Kennedy on Friday, Rasmussen’s latest poll shows that nothing has changed in the direction of his approval ratings. With one of the three days in Rasmussen’s presidential tracking poll after the wake, Obama has hit his highest level of strong disapproval yet, at 42%. The “passion index” has now hit -10 — not the worst of his term thus far, but certainly not good:The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 32% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President.

With Barack Obama on vacation this week, I suspected we may not have much material — but I needn’t have gotten all wee-wee’d up after all. We’d pray for more material, but that might seem a little two-faced, which fortunately is an ongoing theme in this administration. Have I forgotten to mention anything, besides the $2,000,000,000,000 mistake on Obama’s deficit projections? Nothing Obama himself didn’t omit.Be sure to choose your favorite, and keep checking back to see which one’s winning.

Organizing for America’s fake grassroots caravan came through Raleigh yesterday, replete with professionally manufactured signs, street theater, and bused-in protesters, proof, as one blogger put it, “that these pro-Obamacare organizers fear what their rallies would look like if they didn’t bring their own crowd.” Conservative Nation has a good account of the day with great photos, which fleshes out the account you may have found in your local paper . Meanwhile, in Denver, the Obamabots really pulled out the stops.

Fair warning: This one will depress you. Americans for Tax Reform has issued the 2009 edition of its annual “Cost of Government Day” report. The analysis is a tabulation of how long it takes the “average American worker” to “earn enough gross income to pay off his or her share of the spending and regulatory burdens imposed by government at the federal, state and local levels.” ATR determined this year’s freedom-from-government date to be August 12 — nearly a month later than 2008’s estimate.

After a long day at work on a commercial shoot, I decided to unwind with a little internet and cable television. Politics and punditry are my hobby, not my main source of income, so I indulge in a little cable news and internet sites as time permits. I’ve always felt it important to see the world outside the “echo chamber” of like-minded folks, so my television sits for far too many hours on MSNBC and the Huffington Post is bookmarked on my browser.

First we examine “Why Michelle’s Hair Matters. ” This was news to me since I was obsessed with the significant political importance of her arms. Hard hitting journalism here… Unruly mobs of un-American protesters and astroturfers rally in opposition to government programs and threaten democracy. Or something like that. I need a program to keep up. Does government-run health care work? Ask vets. It takes the VA just 4.6 hours on average to decide a compensation claim, it takes the agency five years to actually settle the claim.

by Ken Connor at Townhall.com This has been the “Summer of the Senior” in America. While the health care debate has raged, senior citizens have been front and center at town hall events, challenging their representatives to explain how Obamacare will affect Medicare and pressing them to shoot straight about whether a “public option” will result in health care rationing or “comparative effectiveness” policies (what Sarah Palin has termed “death panels”).

At long last, the left’s relentless assault on America’s honored traditions and values is being unashamedly and resolutely resisted by “we the people”. At this juncture, the prospect for swift passage of the misnamed “Employee Free Choice Act” (aka “card check”) and HR 3200 (aka “Obamacare”) are dim. Even “Cap and Trade” (aka “cap ‘n tax”), the centerpiece of leftwing socialist engineering, is running up against a rising tide of skepticism and suspicion. But now is not the time for complacency or misplaced celebration.

Once upon a time, Ted Kennedy could count on his daily dose of veneration. The right wing hated the Massachusetts Democrat, but progressives honored him as a defender of old-school liberalism. In a remarkable turnaround, liberals are now heaping scorn on the 73-year-old senator. Young audiences boo at his name, and the leftish “Daily Show” on Comedy Central makes fun of him. The source of unhappiness is Kennedy’s efforts to kill an offshore wind farm on Nantucket Sound.

The political rhetoric, rumours and activities of lobbying groups all point to the next proposal to float out of the White House, a national Food Tax. In May, the Wall Street Journal reported Senate Finance Committee discussions over the possibility of a new federal tax on soft drinks and sugary drinks as another method of raising revenues in light of forthcoming health care reform proposals. At the time, Democratic Senators requested that the CBO prepare revenue estimates based upon the implementation of such a tax, leading many to believe that a tax proposal was on the way.
