By Zane F Pollard, MD I have been sitting quietly on the sidelines watching all of this national debate on healthcare. It is time for me to bring some clarity to the table by explaining many of the problems from the perspective of a doctor. First off, the government has involved very few of us physicians in the healthcare debate. While the American Medical Association has come out in favor of the plan, it is vital to remember that the AMA only represents 17% of the American physician workforce.

This time with bipartisan support Olympia Snowe ! Senior White House officials, in conversations with reporters today, are floating the idea that President Obama is secretly negotiating with Sen. Olympia Snowe over a health care compromise that would phase in a government-funded health care alternative if private insurance companies fail to meet quality and cost benchmarks over a certain period of the time .

But is she really putting her speakership at risk, as Redstate’s post Speaker Pelosi Stands Firm on the Public Option, Essentially Tells the White House to Go Pound Sand asserts? That moment in The Great Obamacare War arrived yesterday, when the Speaker of the House stood firm on the public option, essentially telling the White House to go pound sand. In effect, Speaker Pelosi just called in an air-strike on her own position. This is not going to be pretty. It will likely cost her the Speakership.

Tom Daschle, the guy with the $100,000-plus in tax “problems” that kept him from becoming head of HHS, lectures us today in the Wall Street Journa l about passing “meaningful health reform.” He says that the goals “should be to expand coverage, reduce projected costs, improve health-system quality, and enhance health-care options for all Americans.” Too bad the various iterations of ObamaCare floating around Washington meet at best about 1/3 of the first goal (per the Congressional Budget Office ); definitely don’t accomplish the second ( per CBO, again ) or third; and are deliberately designed to eventually herd us all into a state-run plan in direct contradiction to the fourth.

Every time attempt at a government run or mandated health plan has resulted in some form of rationing.  There is no exception to this rule.  The reason for this is quite simple.  Once people get something that appears to have no cost to it they will demand more and more of it.  As folks demand more and more it costs more and more to provide the service.  At some point, even the most arrogant printers of money will realize that there has to be some cap on the total costs.

The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each state, chosen by the legislature thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. ~Article I, Section 3 of the United States Constitution ~ Through the chance of history and some political maneuvering, the fate of ObamaCare could fall upon the decision of a single man who has never been elected to national office. If the circumstances weren’t so serious it would be a comedy of errors that leads us to where we are today.

They don’t seem to care even when the circumstances are totally egregious and when their risk of exposure is almost certain. It’s like the Democrat Party doesn’t even care anymore. The electoral college gives a heavy weight to states with huge, minority-heavy cities.

David Axelrod is no fool. He’s paying close attention to the President’s sagging poll numbers . At this point it’s probably enough to make him lose continence. Obama’s numbers have dropped faster than any President in modern history and they haven’t stopped yet. The nexus of this increasing public rejection of the man as well as his performance on the job is the public plan, i.e. Jacob Hacker’s trojan horse for single-payer.

Watson Thinks Cuban Health Care Is Great Liberal progressive Representative Diane Watson (D-CA) made comments, at an Obamacare health care town hall forum, trivializing the brutality of the Castro regime and overlooking the failures of the Cuban health care system.  She also used race baiting in her defense of Obamacare. News reports indicate that the president will address a joint session of Congress on health reform next Wednesday during prime time.The goal will be to reassert himself in a process that has divided congressional Democrats and left most Republicans in sharp opposition to key elements of the plans working their way through both houses of Congress.By delivering the speech in the evening, Mr. Obama also hopes to reach significant numbers of Americans.

On Tuesday evening, the Hamilton County Democratic Forum held an what was dubbed an “educational program about Health Care” at the 20th Century Theater in the neighborhood of Oakley in Cincinnati, Ohio. The event featured Rep. Steve Driehaus (D-OH) and Jessica McNiece who represented Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and allowed the event to be open to the public so that questions could be asked and so that the issue of health care could be discussed. As I have reported previously, the past two events which have featured Rep.

Since you can’t credibly name the health care bill after Senator Kennedy because let’s face it, he left Mary Jo to die in the car after he ran off the bridge.  She died after sitting there for 2 hours waiting on Ted to call for help.  Help did not come because Teddy went back to his hotel and started calling lawyers.  However, I still have a way you can name something else after Ted Kennedy.

Let me start from the beginning. I pulled into the place at about 4:15 and there was already a line that was reaching  around the building, for a meeting that started at 6:00. So I hopped in line and was greeted by an older gentlemen that I’d say was about 55 years. He was a jovial, tall man, that laughed like Herman Munster, and was interested in hearing what was going on. He greeted me with some kind words “Man, I feel sorry for you young people!” Right then I knew where he stood on the issue.

What if I told you that less than four years ago, and alliance of Liberal-Medical Groups, Unions and Progressive organizations did a study about how to shape a universal healthcare plan and that many of those organizations are deeply involved in Obama’s health care initiative today? What if that study reported that Americans worried that such a plan would boost costs, or reduce care, for those who were already insured and that any fancy verbiage the researchers used to allay those fears were grossly unsuccessful?

My goodness, I hate writing about myself. If I was even 1/2 as interesting as Lyndsey Teter , I’d write about myself all the time. But I have to respond to this. First of all, thank you for filling us in on that mysterious newspaper lingo. After print newspapers go out of business soon, it will be important to document such details for historical purposes. I’m not mentally handicapped, although I have no sense of fashion and style. For that, I apologize.

Recently, Michelle Bachman made a statement that has caused a great deal of concern.   She is normally a very gifted public speaker known for her pro-Americanism, but in this case I urge you not to follow her. “This cannot pass,” Michele told the crowd in Denver this week,  “What we have to do today is make a covenant, to slit our wrists, be blood brothers on this thing. Parole hearing under way for ill Manson follower -Susan Atkins Susan Atkins, a terminally ill Charles Manson follower who admitted stabbing actress Sharon Tate 40 years ago, has slept on a gurney for much of a parole hearing that began around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The hearing in Chowchilla is still under way for Atkins, who is asking for her freedom before she dies. She had been expected to die of brain cancer more than a year ago, but the 61-year-old woman continues to cling to life.

I know, I know. This isn’t really anything to get riled up over like Obama brainwashing our schoolchildren or czaring around with a bunch of commies. Unless you figure the Jesus is an illegal alien. Be that as it may, you still have to appreciate that he can roll. Yes, he’s a creep but Jesus Quintana can roll. And I figure with all the pressures and heavy loads we must carry each day, we should rejoice when we witness perfection! Many may remember this scene from one of the AWD’s favorite movies, The Big Lebowski.

Let’s not think wanything has been accomplished yet in the fight against bigger government in general or OBAMACARE in particular. Letters, emails and town hall opposition must continue and increase until this abomination has been defeated. Keep up the pressure! In the coming months we will have to work very hard against the following items also: No Cap and Trade, No Stimulus Part 2, No Increased Taxes for anyone, No more earmarks.
