(Before “Change”) were lily-white barons like Hillary, Ted Kennedy, Jean-Francois  Heinz-Kerry (who is rumored to have served in Vietnam), Babs Boxer (that would be “Senator”, and not “ma’am”, General), etc.  No, if you continue to espouse the conservative philosphy you’ve always maintained over the years before we had a black president, then that philosophy is now racist…it wasn’t then, but it is now.  Got it?

The canary is dead. Massachusetts, the model for the ObamaCare universal insurance plan, is the canary in the health care coal mine. Yesterday, its obit appeared on the front page of both The Wall Street Journal and The Boston Globe-Democrat. Both papers reported that our Commonwealth Care reform isn’t working as planned. A new law that was supposed to control costs and drive prices down (sound familiar?) has instead sent costs soaring. Under the “beta” version of ObamaCare here in Massachusetts, premiums have jumped 7 to 12 percent just this year.

In what could probably be considered an unsurprising turn of events, Chairman Obama’s White House has decided to officially shelve the Bush administration’s plans for building a missile defense system based in Poland and the Czech Republic. The Czech Interim Prime Minister learned this from a midnight call – better, perhaps, than learning from WSJ.com: The U.S. will base its decision on a determination that Iran’s long-range missile program hasn’t progressed as rapidly as previously estimated, reducing the threat to the continental U.S.

One Apology Too Many A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet ************************************ Congressman Joe Wilson of South Carolina should never have apologized the first time. As a resident of North Carolina for nearly fifty years, and a native of South Carolina, I qualify as a “Carolina Boy.” I am as much at home in one Carolina as the other. Democrats are still not satisfied with my former colleague Joe Wilson’s apology after he shouted “You lie!” when Obama claimed in his address to Congress that “There are also those who claim that our reform efforts would insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false. The reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally.” If he does not continue to grovel and apologize they are threatening to discipline him for his violation of what Nancy Pelosi’s spokesman calls the “House rules of decorum.” Whether or not he breached House decorum, Joe’s actions were both true and effective.

This alone should kill the ridiculous health care debate. Common sense would tell you that if there are no doctors it will be impossible to give unrationed health care to everybody without increasing costs . An Investors Business Daily poll of random doctors have uncovered a shocking reality looming on the horizon if Obamacare is passed. According to the poll, 45% would quit! That’s right, piling millions of new patients on already overworked doctors would be the straw that breaks the proverbial camels back.

For those who doubt the immediate and pervasive influence of the man the Wall Street Journal (see link at bottom of this article) called “Obama’s Health Rationer-in-Chief”, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel and others of like mind, here is hard evidence that the “let granny die” policies espoused by this group are already being placed into effect.

The president and his allies in Congress are trying to convince Americans that they have found a painless way to achieve “universal coverage” that will involve no sacrifice from anyone. But the truth is that the Democratic plans all depend on coercion and hidden and regressive taxes. Low- and moderate-wage workers are the ones who will pay the bulk of the costs. Indeed, last week, the Lewin Group found that the House bill would increase costs for households with at least one uninsured member by $1,400 per year, on average.

Democrats in the Senate had hoped to get a fig leaf of bipartisanship from Olympia Snowe or Susan Collins (R-ME) once Max Baucus rolled out his supposedly moderate bill for overhauling the American health-care system.  Yesterday, Snowe rejected the bill, leaving Democrats isolated and divided on the bill, just days after Obama demanded action on the effort: Senate Democrats are going to have to move forward on healthcare without a single Republican supporter after Sen.

Blah, blah, blah, racist, blah, blah, racist. Someone needs to throw this race baiting bitch out of office. I don’t really give a damn if radical blacks in Congress or an incompetent failed president like Carter call me a racist. That charge is thrown at us by the left so many times a day, it barely gets an eye roll anymore. What a shock that the word “ObamaCare” is now racist. EVERYTHING is racist. The term “socialist” was labeled racist a couple of weeks ago by radical blacks.

American Life League is having a surprising effect on the health care reform debate. Media coverage of our activities has brought out a lot of good people and some people who are terribly confused. Here’s one example. American Life League designed a placard for the September 12 taxpayer protest in Washington, D.C. that reads, “Bury Obamacare with Kennedy.”  This slogan offended some people, even though it is based on the undeniable fact that President Obama is proposing health care reform that is philosophically in tune with the late Senator Edward Kennedy ’s culture-of-death convictions.

You can tell that liberal Democrats are desperately afraid of losing a political battle when the party line starts shifting dramatically. For example, last week’s conventional wisdom was that this year’s tea parties were “astroturf” bought by special interests. During the 2008 Election Campaign, Obama touted his plans to reform the health care system as one of his main objectives. At the time, the majority of Americans thought that reform was a good idea, and being that Obama had not revealed any details of how he was going to reform health care, they found nothing objectionable and favored it. Fast forward to the present, the Democrats and Obama having floated a plethora of ideas on what they want to do, and Americans from all over the country are objecting in huge numbers.

The bizarre, intellectually vapid and conspiracy thirsty right-wing extremists that collectively comprise the Tea Party movement, marched on Capitol Hill this weekend with great fanfare from Fox “News” and its deranged cabal of conservative talkers. Blinded by hatred and underwritten by corporate special interests, these paranoid “patriots” have become parodies of themselves. First, the organizers of the event, a lobbyist front group called FreedomWorks, claimed that turnout for the march exceeded 1 million.

On Friday, I was at DePauw University in Indiana debating former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean. It was two days after Barack Obama’s big speech before a joint session of Congress and Mr. Dean is a strong advocate for his party’s agenda and a medical doctor, so I expected him to defend the president’s idea of adding a “trigger” to health-care reform to ease its passage and thereby guarantee a government takeover of our health-care system. But Mr. Dean turned out to be tougher on triggers than I was.

Sen. Max Baucus (MT. Democrat) on Wednesday brought out the much-awaited Finance Committee version of ObamaCare health system remake a landmark $856 billion. This bill would requiring Americans to purchase insurance coverage or pay a fine. This plan would be paid for with $507 billion in cuts to government health programs and $349 billion in new taxes and fees , including a tax on high-end insurance plans and fees charged to insurance companies and medical device manufacturers.

So now Jimmy Carter, formerly our worst president in modern times, has decided to open his flabby yap and get involved in the Obamacare government-run healthcare debate (even though THE ONE said the time for debate is over). Oh well… So Jimmy, being a white guy from the south, see, he knows a thing or two about racism. Dare say he probably is racist himself. Newsweek just reported all whites are born that way, so Jimmy, sorry to say, there’s no doubt you’re a big ol’ racist.

There is considerable speculation that the Obama administration, desperate for some sort of health bill to pass, will choose to bash health insurance with an “insurance reform” bill. What is this likely to look like ? What does the Baucus bill say ? Like other proposals in circulation, Baucus’ plan would require insurance companies to sell coverage to all seeking it, without exclusions for pre-existing medical conditions or prohibitively expensive premiums. The Maine experience should be of interest here.
