Obviously, we normal Americans knew months ago that any opposition to B.O.’s collectivist policies would be tarred as some form of racism. Never mind that the most active leftist politicians B.C. (Before “Change”) were lily-white barons like Hillary, Ted Kennedy, Jean-Francois Heinz-Kerry (who is rumored to have served in Vietnam), Babs Boxer (that would be “Senator”, and not “ma’am”, General), etc. No, if you continue to espouse the conservative philosphy you’ve always maintained over the years before we had a black president, then that philosophy is now racist…it wasn’t then, but it is now. Got it?

It is amazing the amount of disinformation spread by the Obama administration regarding their proposed takeover of the healthcare system. Unfortunately, the American Medical Association (called last month to cancel my membership) is giving cover to Obama by supporting the generalities of the plan. It is not my impression that most physicians agree with the takeover and Investors Business Daily has a piece that seems to confirm my impression.

By Herbert Gintis Mark R. Levin is a nationally syndicated radio host and a popular conservative writer. Levin’s version of conservatism has two fundamental bases: strict construction of the U.S. Constitution, and an affirmation of the importance of supporting religious faith in public life. These principles are not a very auspicious beginning because the U.S. Constitution has provisions for its own revision, indicating that the founding fathers did not consider the product of their labor to be eternally inviolable.

September 17th is Constitution Day in the United States. Do my fellow Americans know where their Constitution is? Their constitution remains in exile, shredded to tatters by Presidents, Congress, the Federal Courts and the Supreme Court. The Constitution is a document of enumerated powers and unenumerated rights, grounded in the doctrine of natural law. The bipartisan cabal of Republicans and Democrats, whether they call themselves conservative or liberal has undermined the Constitution at

The enthusiastic, barely-educated young helped put Barry into the White House. Yes we can, etc. If Obamacare passes, they’ll be the ones paying for it. Step right up. Pay $100 a month for the least expensive insurance plan or a $750-$950 annual penalty for singles for not buying it. The penalty’s cheaper, of course, but that way you get nothing for your money. But, hey, you got the thrill down your leg of electing Barry, right?Humor via Ann Althouse.

Liberal lies about health care: Joe Wilson edition! BY: Ann Coulter I’m trying to get to the next installment of my Pulitzer Prize-deserving series on liberal lies about national health care, but apparently liberals have decided to torture us by neurotically fixating on one lie. After President Barack Obama gave a speech to a joint session of Congress last week passionately defending his national health-care plan, the Democrats were agog at the brilliance of the speech.

The canary is dead. Massachusetts, the model for the ObamaCare universal insurance plan, is the canary in the health care coal mine. Yesterday, its obit appeared on the front page of both The Wall Street Journal and The Boston Globe-Democrat. Both papers reported that our Commonwealth Care reform isnt working as planned. A new law that was supposed to control costs and drive prices down (sound familiar?) has instead sent costs soaring. Under the beta version of ObamaCare here in Massachusetts, premiums have jumped 7 to 12 percent just this year.

In what could probably be considered an unsurprising turn of events, Chairman Obama’s White House has decided to officially shelve the Bush administration’s plans for building a missile defense system based in Poland and the Czech Republic. The Czech Interim Prime Minister learned this from a midnight call – better, perhaps, than learning from WSJ.com: The U.S. will base its decision on a determination that Iran’s long-range missile program hasn’t progressed as rapidly as previously estimated, reducing the threat to the continental U.S.

As we’ve all heard President Barack Obama will appear on an unprecedented five Sunday shows as well as others in the coming week in his hard push to sell ObamaCare to the masses. Harry Reid: Health care bill won’t work for Nevada – Las Vegas Sun By Lisa Mascaro WASHINGTON – No sooner than the Senate Finance Committee’s chairman released his long-awaited health care bill today than Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said it’s not good enough for Nevada. Reid is concerned about the cash-poor state’s inability to boost Medicaid spending as would be required under the bill. “While this draft bill is a good starting point, it needs improvement before it will work for Nevada,” Reid said in a statement.

Karl Rove observes that Obama’s big speech before Congress was no game changer. He explains: A Gallup poll this week found that 38% of Americans say their representative should vote for ObamaCare [and] 40% want their member to vote against it. It was 37%-39% on the same question the day before Mr. Obama spoke. Part of Mr. Obama’s problem is his language. His speech contained little new information and his tone was unpresidential.

A week ago President Obama grabbed his final quiver of arrows and started firing the final efforts to save health care reform. His first effort was a speech to a joint session of Congress. After a month of highly attended and vocal town halls where it became apparent that many Americans knew more about Congress’ plans than the members of Congress did, it was anticipated that President Obama’s speech would reset the health care discussion. It was hoped that President Obama might have the

I’m not going to even get into the whole race issue – I think that Jimmy Carter reading race into Joe Wilson’s “Liar!” outburst over Obamacare and illegals aliens says more about Jimmy Carter than it does about Joe Wilson. But for Carter to claim now that the office of the president should be treated with respect is just pure hogwash, and only a biased media would let him say that without challenge. A ll Barack Obama has ever done in his political career is campaign – and get elected . And the rails were always well-greased by first the Chicago Machine , then later the DNC -with some opponents even removed from the ballot by dubious legal means so the rising star could run unopposed. Playing to strength, campaigning was all Barack really needed – or wanted- to do… sure didn’t show much interest in writing legislation -or even voting.

In 1965, President Johnson pushed Medicare through Congress. In the 1966 elections, Democrats lost 47 seats in the House and 4 in the Senate. In 1993, then-First Lady Hillary Clinton was promoting her own version of this year’s Obamacare. In 1994 the Democrats lost 54 seats in the House and 7 in the Senate. It remains to be seen if Obama’s health care “reform” bill will make it through the House and the Senate, but either way, one thing is clear: The Democrat Party is in BIG trouble in 2010.

One Apology Too Many A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet ************************************ Congressman Joe Wilson of South Carolina should never have apologized the first time. As a resident of North Carolina for nearly fifty years, and a native of South Carolina, I qualify as a “Carolina Boy.” I am as much at home in one Carolina as the other. Thus, you have my “bona fides.” If you paid attention in history class, you may have noticed that we “Sandlappers,” of South Carolina, are famous, or infamous, depending upon your viewpoint, for our hot tempers.

Democrats are still not satisfied with my former colleague Joe Wilson’s apology after he shouted “You lie!” when Obama claimed in his address to Congress that “There are also those who claim that our reform efforts would insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false. The reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally.” If he does not continue to grovel and apologize they are threatening to discipline him for his violation of what Nancy Pelosi’s spokesman calls the “House rules of decorum.” Whether or not he breached House decorum, Joe’s actions were both true and effective.

This alone should kill the ridiculous health care debate. Common sense would tell you that if there are no doctors it will be impossible to give unrationed health care to everybody without increasing costs . An Investors Business Daily poll of random doctors have uncovered a shocking reality looming on the horizon if Obamacare is passed. According to the poll, 45% would quit! That’s right, piling millions of new patients on already overworked doctors would be the straw that breaks the proverbial camels back.

For those who doubt the immediate and pervasive influence of the man the Wall Street Journal (see link at bottom of this article) called “Obama’s Health Rationer-in-Chief”, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel and others of like mind, here is hard evidence that the “let granny die” policies espoused by this group are already being placed into effect.

The president and his allies in Congress are trying to convince Americans that they have found a painless way to achieve “universal coverage” that will involve no sacrifice from anyone. But the truth is that the Democratic plans all depend on coercion and hidden and regressive taxes. Low- and moderate-wage workers are the ones who will pay the bulk of the costs. Indeed, last week, the Lewin Group found that the House bill would increase costs for households with at least one uninsured member by $1,400 per year, on average.
09/17/2009
Democrats in the Senate had hoped to get a fig leaf of bipartisanship from Olympia Snowe or Susan Collins (R-ME) once Max Baucus rolled out his supposedly moderate bill for overhauling the American health-care system. Yesterday, Snowe rejected the bill, leaving Democrats isolated and divided on the bill, just days after Obama demanded action on the effort: Senate Democrats are going to have to move forward on healthcare without a single Republican supporter after Sen.

Blah, blah, blah, racist, blah, blah, racist. Someone needs to throw this race baiting bitch out of office. I don’t really give a damn if radical blacks in Congress or an incompetent failed president like Carter call me a racist. That charge is thrown at us by the left so many times a day, it barely gets an eye roll anymore. What a shock that the word “ObamaCare” is now racist. EVERYTHING is racist. The term “socialist” was labeled racist a couple of weeks ago by radical blacks.

So writes Will Collier in his reflection in Jimmy Carter’s latest attempt at relevance . The failed former President seems to know that he’ll only get media attention when he says something outrageous as few people, few responsible people that is, take seriously his pontification on world affairs, given the myriad foreign policy failures of his Administration: Jimmah’s empty slander is just another sign of the unbecoming moral vanity at the heart of the modern Left, to say nothing of its overweening intolerance for any hint of dissent.

American Life League is having a surprising effect on the health care reform debate. Media coverage of our activities has brought out a lot of good people and some people who are terribly confused. Here’s one example. American Life League designed a placard for the September 12 taxpayer protest in Washington, D.C. that reads, “Bury Obamacare with Kennedy.” This slogan offended some people, even though it is based on the undeniable fact that President Obama is proposing health care reform that is philosophically in tune with the late Senator Edward Kennedy ’s culture-of-death convictions.

You can tell that liberal Democrats are desperately afraid of losing a political battle when the party line starts shifting dramatically. For example, last week’s conventional wisdom was that this year’s tea parties were “astroturf” bought by special interests. During the 2008 Election Campaign, Obama touted his plans to reform the health care system as one of his main objectives. At the time, the majority of Americans thought that reform was a good idea, and being that Obama had not revealed any details of how he was going to reform health care, they found nothing objectionable and favored it. Fast forward to the present, the Democrats and Obama having floated a plethora of ideas on what they want to do, and Americans from all over the country are objecting in huge numbers.

It was two days after Barack Obama’s big speech before a joint session of Congress and Mr. Dean is a strong advocate for his party’s agenda and a medical doctor, so I expected him to defend the president’s idea of adding a “trigger” to health-care reform to ease its passage and thereby guarantee a government takeover of our health-care system. But Mr. Dean turned out to be tougher on triggers than I was.

The Democrat buzzwords for selling ObamaCare are “Choices” and “Competition.” The intention is to deceive the public into thinking that choice and competition will be the central features of the health care bill because most of the public fears the actual focus of the bill is government control. There is considerable speculation that the Obama administration, desperate for some sort of health bill to pass, will choose to bash health insurance with an “insurance reform” bill. What is this likely to look like ? What does the Baucus bill say ? Like other proposals in circulation, Baucus’ plan would require insurance companies to sell coverage to all seeking it, without exclusions for pre-existing medical conditions or prohibitively expensive premiums. The Maine experience should be of interest here.

From Dr. Mary Graber, at Pajamas Media : Well, history tells us that most terroristic socialist regimes were started by disaffected intellectuals, who learned their theories in universities and then imposed them on the “people.” History, however, is less likely to tell about tragedies that are stymied by individuals not afraid to speak up. History will not give us the footnoted evidence about the citizens who were propelled to take action by Congressman Broun’s words.

The trifecta of corruption, insider community organizing and crime is oozing towards the surface of an Alinksy/Chicago government thugocracy like pus drawn from a wound. Our initial worries over some unholy alliances of candidate Obama with the likes of Bill Ayers, Frank Marshall Davis and Jeremiah Wright were just the beginning of what we would discover after Obama became president. We did not pay as much attention to the groups that Obama associated himself with and worked for, nor the groups

The Left is quite fond of blaming isolated incidents of violence on “Right Wing Hate Speech” OK, fine, if they REALLY think that way, then I expect every single Liberal who is calling people protesting ObamaCare racists, to take the blame for THIS! Come on, time to be consistent for ONCE!

If you watched Obama’s last speech before Congress you heard him dent and deride us for speaking against euthanisia. According to Obama, “This is not in the Bill, not at all.” Joe Wilson called out, “You lie,” when Obama said no coverage for illegals. Hey Goober. 1 If race was a big factor then there would not have been a majority and we would not have a half black President you idiot! What you and the rest of the Liberal/Socialists don’t seem to get is this. Race doesn’t enter into it! What Wilson did he did because he believed it. Just like we all do. We who read the bills (unlike Congress) know that Obama was lying. I don’t care what color or gender you are, wrong is wrong.

To be fair, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) suggested that the media probe Obama critics for their latent racism, not the government, but in the end she’s sure it’s there. The Hill reports that Waters identifies racists by their use of the term “ObamaCare”, which would apparently include me. Gee, when I called it HillaryCare in 1993, was that racist too?The media should investigate the racial views of conservative activists like the ones who descended on Washington last weekend, one liberal congresswoman said Wednesday.Rep.

By Rick Saunders America’s Right Recall that on November 4, 2008, a pair of thugs in paramilitary garb and holding nightsticks stationed themselves outside a polling place in Philadelphia . Recall as well that they were members of the New Black Panther Party, ostensibly there to act as ad hoc “security” for the polling place and voters. How very thoughtful and civic-minded. The rank intimidation of voters that ensued precipitated calls for legal action and criminal charges were, in fact, filed by the prior administration’s Justice Department.

by James M. Wall President Obama’s health care hopes are floundering. So are his dreams for a Middle East agreement. Remember that triumphant election night victory, celebrated by a cheering, weeping, crowd in Chicago’s Grant Park? That one shining moment gave us hope that racism had been defeated. The entire world rejoiced with us. A new president was soon to be installed in the White House. He would bring peace and justice into the darkest corners of the planet.

President Obama routinely tells us that under his (undefined) plan, if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor. He doesn’t mention what will happen if up to 45% of physicians in America decide to go Galt . Two of every three practicing physicians oppose the medical overhaul plan under consideration in Washington, and hundreds of thousands would think about shutting down their practices or retiring early if it were adopted, a new IBD/TIPP Poll has found.

OK, it is getting just absolutely nuts out there. I am reading some; make that a lot of blogs out there that all have the same theme. By Carter saying that race is playing a part in how Obama is being treated somehow they think that everyone is saying that everyone is playing the race card. Somehow racism can’t be a part of people disagreeing with Obama. And all the people hate Obama for what he has done.

This startling figure from Investors Business Daily . Chart after the fold: James Joyner notes : I consider these numbers about as valid as those in the recent commuting pain survey claiming most people would pay $20 per 15 minutes saved on their commute. In reality, few of the doctors that are truly outraged at the proposed changes can either afford to give up their practices or would rather be doing something else. Further, this is a mail survey, so the results are particularly skewed because it’s essentially a self-selected sample.

People who use broad generalizations to call for McCarthy-like witch hunts against great swaths of Americans because they may be racist, meanwhile that person is using offensive, homophobic, bigoted language in the same breath. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) said that it’s not enough for African-Americans to levy allegations of racism against the right-leaning protesters, and that the media must look into their views. “I want those people talked to; I want them interviewed,” Waters told the liberal Bill Press Radio show in a podcast .

The ‘Racism’ Canard [ Victor Davis Hanson ] In the wake of Joe Wilson’s crude outburst, many network commentators (and Jimmy Carter, of course) are weighing in on the new racism that supposedly explains 1) rising opposition to Obamacare and 2) the president’s sinking polls. I think this is a disastrous political move to save a health-care plan that simply has not appealed to a majority of Americans. I suspect it will result in another 5-point poll slide.

That line, from my friend and frequent commenter CM16, has had me snortling all day. You may remember that it was Charlie and his colleague Katie Couric who “saved the country” from Sarah Palin. Seeking to prove that Sarah didn’t know what “the Bush Doctrine” was, Charlie only succeeded in proving his own ignorance of a phrase coined by Charles Krauthammer. But no matter in the media fun-house. It turns out that Charlie the Brain had never heard about the ACORN sting videos that have been all the buzz for what, a week now? Barrack Obama might be the worst thing that even happened to ACORN. Back in May 2008, the National Review’s Stanley Kurtz wrote : Obama has had an intimate and long-term association with the Association of Community Organizations for Refore Now (Acorn), the largest radical group in America. If I told you Obama had close ties with MoveOn.org or Code Pink, you’d know what I was talking about. Acorn is at least as radical as these better-known groups, arguably more so.

The middle class is facing big tax increases thanks to Obama and liberal congressional leaders. Even the trimmed-down version of Obama’s health-care plan recently announced by a ranking Senator contains lots of tax increases for the middle class (see below). The White House is collecting and storing comments and videos placed on its social-networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube without notifying or asking the consent of the site users, a failure that appears to run counter to President Obama’s promise of a transparent government and his pledge to protect privacy on the Internet. Marc Rotenberg, president of the Electronic Privacy Information Center, said the White House signaled that it would insist on open dealings with Internet users and, in fact, should feel obliged to disclose that it is collecting such information.

The AP posted a piece Sunday that warns that Obamacare will make worse the national shortage of primary care physicians using experience of RomneyCare in Massachusetts as a cautionary example.
