David Limbaugh, TownHall.com, Friday, September 25, 2009 Sen. Jim DeMint predicted that Obamacare would be President Barack Obama’s Waterloo. While that’s certainly a strong possibility, Obama has other Waterloos in the wings competing for the prize, such as his monstrous deficits and his disastrous foreign policy. The Heritage Foundation reports that Obama’s budget would produce $13 trillion in deficits over the next decade, even more than the outrageous $9 trillion previously projected.

There are indicators all over the place flashing red on the Democrats as they rush headlong into political implosion. By being hell bent on pushing through partisan, hyper-liberal policies that the broad center of America opposes, they will make themselves the nation’s lightening rod for all their frustration and anger built up over decades in the next few elections cycles. The first indicator is, as allows in politics, the money game.

-By Warner Todd Huston Once again, welcome to fascism Friday. We’ve given story one about Canadian fascism, and now the first one from the U.S.A. And like the one that will follow, this one is from Michigan, the Badger State. This time we see Michigan authorities creating fatuous taxes. . Who said that government ever made any logical sense? The State of Michigan has lighted upon a brilliant plan. It has been suggested that the state tax doctors so that it can pay doctors more via its Medicaid expenditures.

-By Warner Todd Huston Once again we see that Barack Obama cannot be relied on to tell America the truth. During the late presidential campaign, Team Obama attacked Hillary Clinton for having mandates for health insurance yet now he is himself touting forced mandates on the people. In 2008 an Obama flyer slammed Hillary for her forced insurance purchase suggestion. That flyer told Obamaites that, “Hillary’s health care plan forces everyone to buy insurance, even if you can’t afford it.” This was bad, Obama thought.

-By Warner Todd Huston How many times have we heard the president’s wild claim that we can “keep our healthcare plan if we like it”? Well, if that were true we’d also be able to keep our doctor, right? Hasn’t the president said that we won’t have to lose our favorite doctor with “his” healthcare policies? So, how easy will it be to keep your doctor and access his services under the Baucus bill now under consideration in the Senate? The Senate Joint Economic Committee recently addressed this question by creating a nice visual representation of how easy it will be to access your doctor through Obamacare.

In Pittsburgh this week, liberal demonstrators peaceably assemble to petition the government. On 9/12, “teabaggers”, a racist mob of neo-Nazi hate-mongers, took part in an anti-American riot. Questions?

The Democrats claim that people who organize against ObamaCare, ObamaDeficits, and Obamunism are “mobs,” “Brownshirts,” and “domestic terrorists.” Yet, I note during the 9-12 protests in Washington, there were no arrests, no acts of vandalism, and they generally left their venues cleaner than they found them. This is what a protest by freedom-loving American patriots looks like. What was the worst thing to happen during the 9-12 march? Someone held up a sign that said “Bury ObamaCare with Ted Kennedy.” Oh, what horrible people! Anyway, this is what a protest of “progressives” looks like.

National Right to Life Today’s News & Views September 24, 2009 By Dave Andrusko I’m not so innocent as to believe that facts always “speak for themselves.” There can be an honest difference of opinion about the meaning of the facts, or important information omitted/unavailable, or great uncertainty about the “unanticipated consequences,” to mention just three reasons some things might not be as obvious as a first read of the “facts” would suggest.

The latest CBS/New York Times poll shows that while the President remains popular, his major policy initiatives are not: President Obama is confronting declining support for his handling of the war in Afghanistan and an electorate confused and anxious about a health care overhaul as he prepares for pivotal battles over both issues, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll. But Mr. Obama is going into the fall having retained considerable political strength.

First the Links: Keith Hennessey finally weighs in on Baucus Care, it’s not a pretty picture. Here are two of the many startling things Keith finds in the long-awaited bill: Nobody has asked the question, “Will the Baucus bill increase or decrease health insurance premiums relative to current law?” CBO’s analysis instead blurs the question of how much health insurance will cost, with how much you will pay for your health insurance after new subsidies and taxes.

House Democrats met on Obamacare today, and were far from united : The fight leaves Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) with a difficult choice. If she chooses a public option, she could lose the votes of many Blue Dogs and other centrist lawmakers. If she scraps the public option, she could lose the votes of liberals. Even with the sizable majority of Democrats, either decision might cost enough votes to kill the bill, as Republicans appear united against it.

As Rush would say, “See, I Told You So”:This year, the deep pockets of New York’s rich were tapped like never before. The state’s wealthiest pay new higher income tax rates, higher taxes for limousines and yachts, more to enter a horse in a race and more to dabble in real estate. Meanwhile, many are losing millions from the closing of business tax loopholes and those making over $1 million are losing tax deductions others get. Now, early revenue figures suggest that taxing the wealthy more under this year’s state budget may have driven away richer New Yorkers.

Senate Republicans have been quick to respond to the bullying tactics of Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT), who issued a de facto gag order against Humana Health Care because it did something sensible– it informed its customers who utilize and HMO-type program called Medicare Advantage that its benefits could be cut. One way to pay for ObamaCare would be to eliminate that program.

If the truth exists, no matter how many lies, obfuscations, misrepresentations, contradictions and threats are thrown out there, if it exists, eventually it will reveal itself. And reveal itself it did, from the unlikely source of House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer. It’s a bone being thrown to seniors who under Obamacare will see Medicare slashed by billions .

If nothing else, the Obama eruption in American politics is steadily revealing the stark reality behind the progressive movement – the totalitarian temptation is always there and, for more than a few, possessing the official power to compel sooner or later becomes irresistible. Not everybody on the left, of course. Some of the folks I most admire in this town are liberals whose work on behalf of values like transparency in government and protecting civil liberties is remarkable and essential.

Stopping Obamacare by David Schlecht I went to a health care rally the other day and came across a woman holding up a sign saying “Stop Obamacare It’ll bankrupt the country.” I had a short visit with her and here’s what she said. OBAMACARE: TAXES FOR EVERYONE By DICK MORRIS Published on TheHill.com on September 22, 2009 Now that the various healthcare plans are being reduced to print, the financial details are emerging and with them a fundamental conclusion is becoming evident: The Obama plan is a giant tax increase for much of the American people (not just the rich). Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) is threatening to go nuclear on the healthcare bill. That means he is going to close debate and attempt to get at least 60 votes for it so he can bypass the normal channels on bills. There has been a lot of talk about mandates emanating from the federal government to force each of us to buy healthcare insurance but what do those mandates do to the insurance itself? And are they even Constitutionally justified? First of all we need to remind everyone that these mandates cannot possibly be Constitutional. After all, the Constitution does not give Congress the power to demand that the citizens buy a certain product. The Constitution only gives Congress the power to tax, not to serve as an arm of any industry.

Mark Tapscott sounds a grave warning about giving our government too much power. He argues that the progressive movement’s totalitarian temptation is becoming irresistible to some on the left. Take, for example, Thomas Freidman , who went as far as to write a column advocating totalitarianism here in the US. You know, as long as the despots are good people. But what happens when citizens don’t obey the rulers? Still, that this danger is real and growing becomes more obvious as public opposition grows to the president’s across-the-board campaign to turn Washington into the all-powerful, centralized behemoth that Woodrow Wilson and FDR could only dream about.

As Congress focuses on the critical issue of health care, the US Senate is fortunate to have two actual Medical Doctors among its ranks: doctors Tom Coburn and John Barrasso. As you might imagine, these experts represent a crucial font of knowledge and experience, whom we should look to for guidance on how the health care overhaul will affect patients. Regrettably, Coburn and Barrasso are both Republicans, so Senator Reid largely ignores their views, and instead pursues a course likely to destroy medical care as we know it.

President Obama likes to cite the Postal Service as a positive example of a self-sustaining government entity that successfully competes with the private sector. He said “UPS and Fed Ex are doing just fine.” My buddy Nadz also is fond of the Postal Service model saying it’s his ideal example of how a public-option health insurance system could be set up. If you ask Americans about campaign finance reform, most likely they’ll answer something about the need for it because “there’s too much money in politics,” not realizing that to many the freedom to donate to the political candidate of their choice is a right equated with everything else granted by the First Amendment. You’ll recall that one of the biggest sales pitches of the Obama Administration when it comes to selling ObamaCare is that the public option would be kind of like the Post Office. They claim FedEx and UPS can compete just fine against the USPS, even though neither of the former companies are permitted to engage in the latter’s biggest business: First Class Mail. False logic aside, the comparison was stupid. As even President Obama himself admitted at the time: I mean, if you think about — if you think about it, UPS and FedEx are doing just fine, right? No, they are.

Senate Democrats have killed an amendment that would allowed 72 hours to review the Obamacare bill before a vote. Once again Obama’s promise to require time to review legislation and increase transparency is denied to the American people. He could stand up to the thugs in his party. However as he has found out the more people learn about him and his legislation the less popular they both become. Share:

Feds probe US Census worker hanging in Kentucky This is disturbing. We will no doubt see the left use it against the right. Rahm Emanuel: Health care will pass by Thanksgiving | Washington Examiner Beware of Wyden-Bennett. I suspect this is what Rahm is getting at. All things being equal, if McDonnell wins Virginia and Christie wins New Jersey, the math gets much more complicated for the Democrats because their guts are going to be in better check.

A s reported in USA Today , Republican campaign committees outraised Democrats by $1.7 million in August as donations pour-in amid the rancorous debate over health care. The GOP also held an edge over Democrats in the amount of money available … as both parties set the stage for the 2010 mid-terms with over 35+ competitive House and Senate seats up-for-grabs. This major spike in GOP fundraising is unusual in that normally the party in power — whether Democrat or Republican — has typically raised more than the opposition’s fundraising committees in August.

It’s a must-read (and watch) for parents with young school-age children. Sick! In his much-related article, ” Beware the Stalin in progressive hearts , Mark Tapscott warns: [...] If nothing else, the Obama eruption in American politics is steadily revealing the stark reality behind the progressive movement – the totalitarian temptation is always there and, for more than a few, possessing the official power to compel sooner or later becomes irresistible.

When this happened in Massachusetts – where Irish Mob Boss Whitey Bulger had the unexpected good fortune to hit the Mass State Lottery for a few mil just mere moments before taking it on the lam (that his brother Billy was the state senate president at the time was a total coincidence, yeah, a coincidence) it was chalked up to the luck of the Leprechauns.

Get ready for Detroit-style labor relations in our hospitals. In the heated debates on health-care reform, not enough attention is being paid to the huge financial windfalls ObamaCare will dole out to unions — or to the provisions in the various bills in Congress that will help bring about the forced unionization of the health-care industry .

By Drew McKissick Much of the ruckus and angst over Obama and his policies is due to the fact that most Americans just don’t trust government, either in terms of motivations or effectiveness. In the midst of all of the ruckus concerning town-halls and opposition to Obama’s policies, (most of which has come from liberals upset that conservatives are expressing their opposition to Obamacare), we have been treated to some important, if accidental, moments of honesty and clarity.

Obama supporters are outraged that the president is called a socialist or a fascist by many of his detractors. But the reason for this just doesn’t just flow from his policies, which often follow the template of a statist dictator’s power grabs. What’s disconcerting about these NEA revelations is they clearly show the administration trying to use NEA artists for propaganda means. Not artistic propaganda. Propaganda isn’t art. It’s an advertisement for an agenda.

Last week, Jack, Pat a few others and I flew out to Washington, DC, to join millions of others in protesting the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama. Since taking office, Obama has created record deficits and forced countless American businesses and banks to close. He has given our wealth to terror hotbeds such as Palestine, and has made concessions with a Bush-ordained axis-of-evil nation, Iran. These grievances against our nation are far too much.

AP – Former White House adviser Karl Rove said he thinks a health care reform bill will likely pass soon because of the numbers of Democrats in Congress, but they probably won’t get the bill they have been pushing for.

While all the economic issues are important, foreign policy and national security get far too little attention next to health care and the deficit.
Too many old people are far to worried about losing medicare benefits and not thinking about the safety of their grandchildren.
Because of the great diligence of caring people, like yourself, the facts cannot be hidden from the people. Keep up the fine job and keen research. Appreciated much.
