The signature of Obama’s (uppercase “D”) Democrats is their systematic betrayal of (small “d”) democratic principles. Just look at today’s news for a flavor of their pattern of flagrantly ignoring the popular will to cram down our throats policies we clearly reject. As much as Obama pretends to be a man of the people, he is a man for himself — a man who will get his way, the will of the people be damned. Congressional Democrats who have every intention of voting for health care reform (or who would never dare to be the one who kills it) are fighting like hell to defend certain narrow interests. With the debate over ObamaCare proceeding into the month of October, and still no vote in the House on H.R. 3200 , there is no question that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi remains dedicated to pursuing the so-called public “option.” She says it could “save enormous amounts of money.”

President Obama touted health care reform in his weakly weekly radio address.  You didn’t miss much.  He trotted out the same worn out bromides– reform will help the economy and cut deficits .  What the president needs to explain, and some enterprising reporter should ask, is how Obamacare will be different than Medicare and Medicaid?

Tucked inside ObamaCare is the individual mandate.  The individual mandate requires that every person living in America, legal or illegal, purchase some form of healthcare insurance.  The government will require this so that they can claim that every person in America has insurance.  This past week, a pundit representing the left commented that the disciplinary actions applied to anyone not participating in the individual mandate were incentives.  I about choked on my Corn Flakes.  Fining individuals
