The Congressional Budget Office is out with it’s analysis of the health care reform plan being put forward by Senator Max Baucus: Congressional budget analysts gave an important political boost Wednesday to a Senate panel’s health-care overhaul, projecting that the $829 billion measure would dramatically shrink the ranks of the uninsured and keep President Obama’s pledge that doing so would not add “one dime” to federal budget deficits.

The public option is no more dangerous than a box of puppies according to this professionally produced video featuring Reich. (I won’t embed it but it’s worth a quick watch.) The real injustice, according to Reich, is that political operatives like us are trying to “confuse and scare” people about change.

Get a load of this; here is what Bob Dole had to say about health care the current health care reform debate: From Midwest Voices :  “This is one of the most important measures members of Congress will vote on in their lifetimes,” the former Republican Senate majority leader and presidential candidate told an audience in Kansas City today. “If we don’t do it this year I don’t know when we’re gonna do it.   Given the current plans on the table, I have an answer for Bob Dole; “when hell freezes over”.

In the latest of many myth-busting articles (the myth being that a majority of doctors believe Obamacare is a good idea), a Wall Street Journal editorial from Tuesday explains “ Obama’s War on Specialists “.  This is just one of the early, obvious examples of how government interference will destroy our medical system. Imagine how many more ways it will happen with a “reform” bill that almost no politician will have an opportunity to read (nor will most Democrats actually care to read it) before it comes up for a vote.

Although not a trained dancer, I could not help but experiment with a few steps of the samba upon hearing the news that Rio de Janeiro won its bid for the Olympic Games of 2016. I rejoiced as if I were in the stands seconds after a goal was scored during Euro 2008.

Suppose you’re a Blue Dog Democrat, and you tell your party leaders you’re going to vote for ObamaCare, and then swear up and down to your home district that you’ll never, never increase their taxes. Just like the president. It’s a flagrant lie, but just say it with a straight face and a sincere look in your eyes, and the media won’t dare to ask any follow-ups.

One thing I’ve decided about health care reform is it’s making a lot of apparently otherwise really smart people very dumb. They all seem to have lost the ability to read! Sen. Thomas Carper (D.-Del.), a member of the Senate Finance Committee, told CNSNews.com that he does not “expect” to read the actual legislative language of the committee’s health care bill because it is “confusing” and that anyone who claims they are going to read it and understand it is fooling people.

With about a year to go before the 2010 elections, we’re a 50-50 nation. The Swamp blog has crunched the numbers.  read The generic no-name congressional preference polls generally split even among Democrats and Republicans. Gallup has President Obama at 50 percent approval. Most polls show slight opposition to ObamaCare. Congress’ approval rating is at 21 percent. Democrats are more popular than Republicans, but motivation wins or loses campaigns.

Barack Obama promised TRANSPARENCY if he were elected president. This will not have been his first lie to the American people. 72 hours is little enough time to read and digest the bills that will become the laws that rule our lives, and they’re not even giving us that much time to read it, understand it, and debate it. Congress deserves the bad name it has and Barack Obama is its biggest promise maker and liar.

Here’s what the BBC found: More than 5,700 patients in England died or suffered serious harm due to errors latest figures for a six-month period show. The National Patient Safety Agency said there were 459,500 safety incidents from October 2008 to March 2009 – the highest rate since records began.

October 07, 2009 /ByWilliam Tate / The American ThinkerGallup has unintentionally revealed how they, and other polling organizations, have been pushing the public to accept Obamacare. The revelation came in a report late last month which revealed that a significant majority of Americans believes that individuals themselves, and not the government, should be responsible for ensuring they have health insurance. According to Gallup, 61% of folks they surveyed believe that health insurance should be left to the individual, not the nanny state.

As ObamaCare stays on life support, Americans will soon be enjoined in a new debate about the bills coming out of Congress. There will be no prevaricating. [Posted by Karl] In recent days, we have been subjected to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid claiming there will be a “public option” in whatever healthcare takeover bill comes out of Congress, and reports that the Obama administration is working behind the scenes for the “public option.” But The Hill’s report on the Democratic negotiations adds this: A Democratic Senate source downplayed any differences, saying that Reid, Baucus and Harkin cooperate well but that the Finance Committee bill is the only legislation that can pass the Senate.

The Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta is a private school that has been featured on NBC Nightly News as well as CNN. The founder is Ron Clark an award winning educator who to his credit has figured out a way to connect with kids on a level that most educators are unable to. But here’s the rub; just what exactly are the kids at RCA learning? The kids from Ron Clark Academy were featured on CNN singing a definitely pro Obamacare song.

Not quite sure why Congress is trying to reform health care on the statist model of more government, more costs, and more bureaucracy.  According to Peter Suderman writing in today’s Wall Street Journal, most provisions of Obamacare have been tried in the states and have failed to deliver on the promise of lower costs and more coverage while restricting access to health care: [S]tate governments have tested variants on most of the major components of the health-care reform plans currently being considered in Congress.

Big Hollywood should have started a pool where we could all drop a buck and guess the date and time a national news network would highlight a bunch of school kids singing for Dear Leader’s flagging bid to take over our nation’s health care. This is what the Left does, after all. Correcting bad behavior that furthers their cause is out of the question. So instead, they get us used to their bad behavior by performing it over and over again as if to say, “Would I be doing this so brazenly if it was wrong?” [There is a video that cannot be displayed in this feed.

Not only are school children singing songs of praise to Barack Obama across the United States (see our last post for examples), but now singing school children have been exploited on national television to promote specific points on Barack Obama's socialist agenda. In a graphic exhibition of CNN's pro-Obama bias, they recently had a group of singing and dancing children on their network who performed a lively song which exalted the benefits of Obamacare and which dumped on Republican Joe Wilson.

He’s also contributed to the John (I never saw a Breck girl I wouldn’t hump) Edwards campaign.

The gauntlet has been thrown down on health care and the Obamessia’s toadies in the MSM aren’t even a little bit squeamish about using children to do their dirty work. Love her little giggle at the beginning — not! Dirty . . . dirty . . . DIRTY WORK!

Wendell Potter did an interesting interview several weeks ago – he is the former CIGNA insurance PR executive who quit the business and now works for insurance reform. The interview is wide-ranging and can be downloaded as a Word document. (Click here and scroll down to September 6.) The part that interested me most is this: Back in the 90’s, the largest number of people, more people, were enrolled in non-profit Blue Cross Blue Shield plans back then.

Today, CNN had students from the Ron Clark Academy sing (video at bottom of post) for passage of health care reform to the tune of ‘Party in the USA’ by Miley Cyrus. CNN included lyrics to the song as the children sang so that everyone at home can karaoke to the ObamaCare propaganda that CNN was airing. I think Stephanopoulos is right about how the GOP will spin it — $829 billion over the next decade to ensure fewer than 10 percent more of the population? — but this does give The One political cover on his heretofore Big Lie about ObamaCare being “deficit-neutral.” Especially since CBO is the agency that’s been tormenting him for months with projections that the program will cost vastly more than the White House claims. The bottom line seems to be it will cost $829 billion (paid for with taxes, penalties, and savings), will lower the projected deficit by $81 billion, and will leave 25 million uninsured (one third of those illegal immirgants). The CBO letter cautions: The Chairman’s mark, as amended, has not yet been converted into legislative language. The review of such language could lead to significant changes in the estimates of the proposal’s effects on the federal budget and insurance coverage.

Democrats will be quick to jump on this as good news , but let’s keep a few things in mind here. First of all, the bill in question doesn’t include a public option . It’s the version from the Senate Finance Committee, which voted down two attempts to include a government-run option. Liberals in both the House and Senate  vowed to oppose any legislation that doesn’t include such a provision, and no health care reform legislation will pass without their support. Second, the legislation includes a mandate for coverage.

The Washington Post tells us that Americans are dying due to lack of health coverage. In 1997-1998, the United States ranked 15th in preventable deaths out of 19 industrialized countries. In 2002-2003, the nation fell to 19th, even as costs continued to rise. Up to 100,000 lives could be saved if the country’s health-care system performed as well those in nations such as France, Japan and Australia, according to the Commonwealth Fund study, which was based on World Health Organization statistics.

They’re activists from the anti-private sector, lobbyist-fueled Health Care for America Now (HCAN). This isn’t just a group of people who want to make sure everyone receives health care. It’s a group who wants the government to take over the health sector and despises the very presence of private sector options. They’re small in numbers but terribly loud and have the ear of far too many in Washington.

Moderate Democrats are asking Senate leader Harry Reid to give the public 72 hours to actually read the health care bill before a vote is taken.
