As I wrote the title I could hear the 60’s folk song playing in my head……I digress…..there has been a lot of talk about moderate Repubs and their ultra right brethren….but who are the moderates in the GOP? (I will give you a time for thought)….. Sorry…I can wait much longer…..Sen. Collins and Snowe…that is the story, but I doubt that they are that moderate….more like independent thinkers within the GOP….the Senate lost a great liberal Repub when Hagel bowed out….in the House about the only one I can think of right now is Mary Bono of California….there maybe some others but I am not aware of them…..

LISTEN UP PEOPLE, DO NOT THINK THAT JUST BECAUSE THE NO ON QUESTION 1 HAS RAISED MORE CASH, THAT DOES NOT MEAN THEY WILL WIN. DONATE, DONATE NOW!, BE PART OF HISTORY!It explains why they were able to be on the air with ads nearly three weeks before our campaign was able to begin advertising. Our polling shows that we are dead-even right now and in a good position to win the campaign.

Dear Yes on Question 1 supporters,
We knew we were being vastly outspent from the fact that the No on 1 campaign was able to air their advertising upwards of 50% more than our Yes on 1 campaign ads.
We had a clue that the other side was awash in money because of the dozens of paid staff members they have on board their campaign.

Ya know, it’s one thing to be sour because your opposition has outfundraised you to the tune of $1.6 million . It’s quite another to act as if your opposition is doing something to you by raising the excess of cash, when you are the ones who’ve declared war on rights that would already be law if not for your own chosen demand to hold a “people’s veto” vote, and you are the ones who are forcing this money war in the first place! This from Maine’s “Yes on 1″ campaign: Dear Yes on Question 1 supporters, We knew we were being vastly outspent from the fact that the No on 1 campaign was able to air their advertising upwards of 50% more than our Yes on 1 campaign ads.

EXISTING PROCESS IS THE BEST FOR CHOOSING PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE The existing system of selecting the Republican nominee for president of the United States works well. Wisely, it starts with small states: the first caucus in Iowa and the first primary in New Hampshire. Then the eyes of the nation turn to South Carolina, home of the first-in-the-South contest. It is a bellwether event in American politics. When you think about it, South Carolina has a fantastic track record in vetting the candidates.

The continued saga of California’s political and financial dilemma will lead to San Bernardino County once again asking its labor unions to give more. Last year, San Bernardino County asked its labor associations to defer cost of living adjustments for one year. Well, little did they know was that more asking was on the horizon. Not only can the unions kiss the last salary increase goodbye, they can kiss the next one goodbye as well. The liklihood of the deferred increases returning in the next few years is zero.

Distance education involves learning that takes place when the teacher and the student are in two different settings, learning and teaching at two different times, perhaps even in two different countries and certainly with different aspirations in mind. By Patrick McGreevy and Eric Bailey October 13, 2009 Reporting from Sacramento – This had been Sacramento’s lost year, a stretch marked by a budget meltdown and hyper-partisan rancor, mass veto threats and mounting public distrust of state government as usual. theStar.com Re: Tory blasts senators for `gutting’ crime The Harper government’s proposed crime legislation, including mandatory sentences for some drug offences, is ideologically and politically driven, not evidenced-based, and smacks of everything that is wrong with our criminal justice system. A classic case of crime as politics. This legislation, if it ever sees the light of day, will prey on the socially, culturally and economically disadvantaged, especially aboriginals and the mentally ill.
