Czar Wars Profile: Cass Susteinconservativehideout.com

As time wears on, we find out more and more about Obama’s Czars.  First, there was Van Jones being a “truther.”  And, who can forget John “De-Development & Forced Abortion” Holdren?  Then, there was Kevin “Make sure you use a condom with your rapist” Jennings.  For today’s post, we’ll go back to Cass Sunstein, the Regulatory Czar.  We’ve taken a look at Mr. Sunstein before, here and here .  But like most of the Czars, the more one looks, the more one finds. Apparently, Mr.
Liberals Smear Limbaugh, Fox to Push Health Caregoodsensepolitics.blogspot.com

In a shameless ploy of dirty-political complicity, CNN and other liberal news outlets are joining forces with Obama’s “Dis-information Czar” to smear the most outspoken opponents of Democrats’ secret Health Care Bill to push for its passage. White House Communications Director Anita Dunn told CNN’s “Reliable Sources” on Sunday that Fox News operates “almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party. . . . We’re going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent.

“…The narcissist, in contrast, is the mental equivalent of an alcoholic. He is insatiable. He directs his whole behaviour, in fact his life, to obtain these pleasurable titbits of attention. He embeds them in a coherent, completely biased, picture of himself. He uses them to regulates his labile sense of self-worth and self-esteem. To elicit constant interest, he projects to others a confabulated, fictitious version of himself, known as the False Self.

An interesting contract in reporting today. Reader (Tom C) sent me the Wall Street Journal version of this story, by Michael R. Crittenden and Liam Pleven, titled “AIG Execs Returned Only $19M Of $45M In Pledged Repayments.” I decided to look at Bloomberg as well, as found one on the same subject, “ AIG Should Trim $198 Million in Awards, Feinberg Says ,” by Hugh Son. But the Journal has now fallen in line with Bloomberg and has a similar finger-shaking-at-government-interference headline, “ U.S.

Pay czar Kenneth Feinberg has advised AIG not to pay $198 million in bonus money

…as Tom Engelhardt recently reminded us, that Obama’s “civilian” advisors include “Karl W. Eikenberry, a retired lieutenant general who is the U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan, Douglas Lute, a lieutenant general who is the president’s special advisor on Afghanistan and Pakistan (dubbed the “war czar” when he held the same position in the Bush administration), and James Jones, a retired Marine Corps general, who is national security advisor, not to speak of Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, a former director of the Central Intelligence Agency”?

Pay czar asks AIG not to pay promised bonuses WASHINGTON ? The Obama administration’s pay czar has asked American International Group to withhold some of the millions in bonuses promised to its employees. Kenneth Feinberg, the special master for executive compensation, “has informally advised AIG not to pay the full $198 million” employees expect to receive, according [...]

Back in March, AIG sought to quell public outrage over the hundreds of millions in retention bonuses it paid to employees by having many of the executives at its toxic Financial Products group promise to give back at least half of their bonuses. All told, roughly $45 million of the $168 million in “retention payments” were pledged to be returned. A report by TARP Inspector General Neil Barofsky has found that only $19 million, or less than half, of the $45 million in pledged repayments had been received by the end of August.

This is hilarious. After the unprecedented White House attacks on Fox News, Glenn Beck is taking action. He says he’s having Fox News install a red phone in his studio with a direct line to White House Communications Director Anita Dumb Dunn. According to Beck, she’ll be the only one with the number and she can call anytime she has a problem. He says The White House should have a direct line to its enemies.

Some folks at AIG aren’t going to get paid asmuch as they thought they might. WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)–The U.S. Treasury is pressing American International Group Inc. (AIG) to reduce $198 million in scheduled retention payments as company and government officials continue to wrangle over pay packages that set off a political firestorm earlier this year. A report from the special inspector general for the government’s $700 billion financial rescue plan said the Obama administration’s pay czar has informed AIG management that the retention payments for AIG’s financial products division should be reduced.

We first introduced our list of “Haute 100” New Yorkers to readers in last year’s anniversary edition. The positive response was so overwhelming that we revamped the list for other cities, but New York remains, undoubtedly, the hub for the elite leaders across the globe. In the past year, many experienced dramatic shifts in their financial portfolios due to the changes in the global economy. These pages feature the top 100 power players who managed to stay at the top of their game, even through adversity.

So Obama and his administration, following suit with their 24-7 politicization of everything in this country, is waging a war of words with FOX News. I think the Obama White House may be about as low in the barrel as one can go. Check this out.“What I think is fair to say about Fox — and certainly it’s the way we view it — is that it really is more a wing of the Republican Party,” said Anita Dunn, White House communications director, on CNN. “They take their talking points, put them on the air; take their opposition research, put them on the air.

By Phyllis Schlafly, TownHall.com, October 13, 2009 If Barack Obama had campaigned on what he has actually done in his first 300 days in office, would he have been elected? That’s the question so many are asking today. If Obama had told us he would appoint 34 czars, reporting only to himself and not vetted or confirmed in the constitutional way, building a powerful unitary executive branch of government, would he have been elected?

TEL AVIV – President Obama’s newly confirmed regulatory czar defended the possibility of removing organs from terminally ill patients without their permission. Cass Sunstein also has strongly pushed for the removal of organs from deceased individuals who did not explicitly consent to becoming organ donors. In his 2008 book, “Nudge: Improving Decisions about Health, Wealth and Happiness,” Sunstein and co-author Richard Thaler discussed multiple legal scenarios regarding organ donation.

Tony Perkins, Family Research Council, October 12, 2009 On Saturday night, billing himself as the opening act for singer Lady GaGa, President Obama mustered all of his rhetorical skills to deliver a rousing speech to the annual dinner of the Human Rights Campaign, America ’s largest pro-homosexual organization. It was an effort to pander to (and to some extent placate) one of the most radical parts of his liberal base — people who, despite Obama’s endorsement of 99% of their far-left agenda, are impatient with the pace of social and political change.

The following bit of text is an offensive, out-of-line, unwarranted attack on an entire group of human beings. So for the Family Research Council’ s Tony Perkins, it’s really nothing new. Accusing gays of “choosing their behaviors,” intimating that Matt Shepard’s sexuality had nothing to do with his death, comparing same-sex unions to those that exist between members of a high school football team, and generally stigmatizing certain people because they happen to be L, G, B, T, or supportive S is pretty much what this man does for a living.

We know that “safe schools czar” and “Queering Elementary Education” essayist Kevin Jennings failed to oppose homosexual man-boy relationships and that science czar John Holdren has written, without objection, that “laws requiring compulsory abortion could be sustained under the existing Constitution.” …But what has not been adequately tallied is how many of President Obama’s nominees and appointees are radical or just plain embarrassing.

October 11, 2009Tomdispatch Here’s the thing: This may be our next “Vietnam moment,” but Afghanistan is no Vietnam: there are no major enemy powers like the Soviet Union and China lurking in the background; no organized enemy state with a powerful army like North Vietnam supporting the insurgents; no well organized, unified national liberation movement like the Vietcong, and that’s just a beginning. Almost everywhere, in fact, the Vietnam analogy breaks down — almost everywhere, that is, except when it comes to us.
