This will be the soft tyranny imposed on Americans by Obama in the stealthly written Health bill written behind closed doors resulting in a 1,000-page, trillion-dollar Washington takeover which will slash a half-trillion dollars from seniors’ Medicare, add new taxes, raise premiums, and which you will be fined AND imprisoned for up to a year if you don’t buy into the US Gov’ts plan.  That’s not freedom! That’s not reform, Obama.  That is tyranny!  Obamacare – coming soon to your family.

Finally, someone on the left was honest enough to tell the truth about government rationed health care. The truth that, in order to cut costs and provide better care for many, others will have to go without. Robert Reich, formally of the Clinton administration, was quite blunt in 2007 when he spoke on the subject of health care reform: “We’re going to have to, if you’re very old, we’re not going to give you all that technology and all those drugs for the last couple of years of your life to keep you maybe going for another couple of months.

Enact tort reform: CBO now estimates that implementing a typical package of tort reform proposals nationwide would reduce total U.S. health care spending by about 0.5 percent (about $11 billion in 2009). That figure is the sum of a direct reduction in spending of 0.2 percent from lower medical liability premiums and an additional indirect reduction of 0.3 percent from slightly less utilization of health care services.

Thanks to Mark Tapscott at the Washington Examiner for noting my late-September BizzyBlog / NewBusters post (”ACORN Question for Local Media: What in the World Are These People Really Doing?”) on Sunday. I also appreciate Maggie Thurber’s nice write-up . It’s becoming pretty obvious that whatever ACORN’s people have really been doing is mostly not what they say they’ve been doing.

Senator Max Baucus’s version of health care reform is one step closer to the Senate floor: As the last of five congressional committees completed work Tuesday on a health-care reform package, lawmakers braced for a debate before the full House and Senate about whether Americans are ready to embrace the far-reaching changes necessary to extend coverage to millions of Americans. With the backing of a lone Republican, the Senate Finance Committee voted 14 to 9 to approve legislation that would, for the first time, require every American to have health insurance.

Yesterday the Senate Finance Committee with the help of turncoat and Republican socialist Olympia Snowe, passed Max Baucus’ boondoggle health care reform bill. With support from a lone Republican, a key Senate committee Tuesday approved a middle-of-the-road health care plan that moves President Barack Obama’s goal of wider and affordable coverage a giant step closer to becoming law.

Rationing Healthcare exists in all nations with public healthcareBy Klaus Rohrich Tuesday, October 13, 2009For all those people wanting the United States government to provide them with “public option” healthcare, be careful what you wish for; you just might get it. An interesting problem at the intersection of “rights” and health care. Many supporters of ObamaCare claim that health care is a right. But they don’t mean that in the commonly understood sense in the U.S. that, if one has a right to something, one is protected against government deprivation of that right in the general state of things. Thus, government attempts to limit one’s access to privately chosen health care would be a violation of that right. But, in the view of ObamaCare supporters, this notion gets turned on its head.

The Republican National Committee unveiled a new Web site today showing a bouncing, swaying Michael Steele boasting a with-it new approach for his party to find new ideas and new members that would make more use of social media. (Marc Ambinder at The Atlantic posts his own Top 10 List for why the R.N.C.’s relaunch is a fizzle, not a sizzle.) But that new effort got sidelined, or rather sideswiped, by some other Republican moves, that seemed to harken back to Hitler and the Nazis, yet again.

He had allegedly ordered the illegal Mexican lawn people at the golf course to cut a NAZI symbol into the grounds and then ‘tag’ it with his African name, Obama.  You may see  the hard picture evidence up above.  Anonymous sources at the White House have expressed concern that Obama is starting a final solution, hidden under the pet name of Operation Obamacare.

14 to 9 so it’s out of the Senate Finance Committee . One Republican, Senator Olympia Snowe (RINO-ME) voted in favor of it, but reserves “the right” to vote against it if significant changes are made.  That was obviously a surprise to Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) who voted against it and thought Snowe would as well .  What exactly in this current bill Senator Snowe, which still hasn’t seen the light of day for constituents to peruse, is palatable with you?

Annotations & Elucidations The Debate Review EditionThe headlines say it all about last night’s gubernatorial debate. Or at least say what the individual reporters say is all. They range from Democrat Creigh Deeds’ continued haranguing of the “the thesis” issue, to both he and Republican Bob McDonnell going after each other equally, to it was a snoozer. That’s pretty much it today — lots and lots of debate coverage, but that’s what happens when there are so few and so few televised this late in the game.

Think of it. Rush, The One, Van Jones, and Glenn Beck out in the Rose Garden with a case of MGD. Wire them up with lapel microphones and put it on pay-per-view for $100 a pop. Voila: ObamaCare is paid for. Frankly, I’m surprised Limbaugh hasn’t proposed it yet.I’m also surprised NBC didn’t ask him about his alleged fondness for slavery, an old slur that’s been revived of late by the left to block his NFL bid.

Steve Chapman , a Chicago Tribune columnist, makes the case that B. Hussein “Spread the wealth around” Obama is not really a socialist. If you recover after ROFLYAO at Chapman’s claim that George W. Bush was “a conservative hero,” you will find he has three points of evidence for his thesis. Some of Obama’s advisors are not socialists. Frank Llewelyn, a hardcore socialist, says Obama isn’t a socialist. ObamaCare does not outlaw private insurance. As a conservative, I am unpersuaded.

A pat on the head for the sum total of his Republican support on this issue, proudly echoed later by Gibbs when he declared — no joke — “We have today a bipartisan bill.” Like Marc Ambinder and Jay Cost, I’m mystified as to why anyone thought Snowe might vote no. What would she have gained by doing that when we’re still this early in the process? There are fully four more votes to come: The cloture vote on the final Senate bill, the vote on the bill itself, and then the cloture vote and final vote on whatever emerges from the conference committee with the House.

By a 14-9 vote, the Finance Committee of the United States Senate voted on Tuesday to approve a 10-year, $829 billion version of “Obamacare” that insurance companies say will raise the average American family’s medical bills by as much as $4,000 a year. But Snowe’s decision gave the vote a significance that transcends partisan divisions.

Obamacare will jump over another hurdle today when the Senate Finance Committee passes the Baucus bill with the support (for now) of Republican senator Olympia “When History Calls” Snowe. But health care reform is still far from a certainty. Baucus’s health bill needs to be merged with the Senate HELP Committee’s much more liberal version ; this new bill needs to pass the Senate; House Speaker Nancy Pelosi needs to merge the three House bills ; her new bill needs to pass the House; and, assuming all this happens, the House and Senate bills need to be merged and the final, mutant monster bill must pass both chambers before going to the president.
