There appears to be some cracks in the AGW armor. Now, many on the right have been accurately referring to AGW as a hoax, but recently, there are some more mainstream sources chiming in. The latest is from Paul Hudson at the BBC. This headline may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998. But it is true. For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures.

This past week has brought some serious flooding to California. This could not come at a worse time with so many hills and mountains denuded of ground cover by the Summer fires. No ground cover means nothing to hold the soaked soil in place, and it will take even less rain than normal to start the famous mud slide season.Here in my part of the world, it’s almost as bad. Heavy rains have fallen for weeks here in the Southeast corner of North America. You should see the path from my driveway to the front door.

The science-fiction spin on the ubiquitous tower defence strategy sub-genre earned a respectable 7 when we reviewed it back in January. There’s also a new Tactical Layer, in which the player, as Supreme Commander of the human effort to kill space bugs with turrets, chooses which of the game’s Imoon’s to focus resources on, controlling the overall campaign as well as the action on the moons’ surfaces.
