One of the pardners at the ranch here is managing an event in California, and he needed to track down some bottled water for the client. He stumbled across this one, which we Midwesterners found delightfully…er, um…well, I guess the only word we could come up with is “Californian.” H2Om water is billed as “water with intention.” Now, my first impulse is “Hey, that’s great, but I don’t want my water to have any other intention than to hydrate me.” H2Om explains further: H2Om is the world’s first interactive water.

Type the word “diet” into Google, and 281 million results pop up. At least, that’s what the number was when I sat down to write this article. It’s probably more than that already. There’s an entire industry built around weight loss. We’re bombarded with hundreds of diet books every year, each one promising an end to your weight woes. Please, save your money. I’m against the commonly understood idea of dieting—“magic-cure”––because the science doesn’t support it.

Russia 2010 oil output to fall – Bernstein analysts London (Reuters) – Russian oil output will stagnate in 2010 and begin to decline as mature fields lose production capacity and only one new project comes on line, oil analysts at Bernstein Research said on Wednesday. Russia, now the world’s largest oil producer, pumped 10.01 million barrels per day last month, up 0.4 percent from the 9.97 million bpd produced in August, both record highs, Russian Energy Ministry data released last week showed.
