Charles Krauthammer is never one to mince words. His undressing of Our Dear Leader’s copious foreign policy failures captured the deep idiocy of this president, his advisers, and the whole liberal elitist gestalt. Like that whole Moscow-Poland-Czech Republic-Iran-missile-defense thing: sure, it was a clear capitulation to Moscow, but to what end? To win Russian influence over a bellicose Iran? Writes Krauthammer : Surely we got something in return for selling out our friends.

I understand Ms. Clinton recently agreed to a unilateral agreement to allow the Russian military to inspect our most secret nuclear sites to count these weapons etc. What do we get in return? Putin will not agree with Hilary to sanctions against Iran’s nuke ambitions, but we will roll over for the Russians? Thursday’s P/D wastes front page ink on Limbaugh’s lost Ram’s bid, the Dow index passing 10,000, El-Amin’s corruption, fencing sport articles, and “public option” snags.

By Melvin A. Goodman President Barack Obama’s willingness to confront the lawlessness and the calumnies of the Bush administration makes him a worthy and obvious recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. The Nobel Prize has been given in the past to those who fight oppression and restore hope. President Obama has repaired much of the scarred reputation of the United States and restored the hope of Americans and people everywhere who opposed the antidemocratic and authoritarian acts of the Bush administration.

In the run up to release of the 2007 NIE, David Ignatius assured us that the intelligence community wouldn’t make the same mistakes again. No longer would intelligence be politicized,it would be done professionally and correctly:The CIA made it easy for disgruntled Iranians to send information directly to the agency in cases known as “virtual walk-ins.” The National Security Agency and other intelligence organizations made similar drives to steal more of Iran’s secrets.

A couple stories this morning — one predictable, the other quite surprising — could push the Iran policy debate in two very different directions. The Wall Street Journal reports that, according to current and former U.S. intelligence officials, “ U.S. spy agencies are considering whether to rewrite a controversial 2007 intelligence report that asserted Tehran halted its efforts to build nuclear weapons in 2003.” The intelligence agencies’ rethink comes as pressure is mounting on Capitol Hill, and among U.S.

During the Clinton administration, Slick Willy and Co. allowed some very sensitive missile guidance technology to get in the hands of the Chinese. It dramatically increased the accuracy of their missiles. Chinese General Shen Rongjun led the penetration of U.S. missile and space technology during the Clinton administration. The 2002 State Department letter makes it clear that they believe Gen. Shen led the successful penetration of the Clinton administration and Hughes. In 1994, Gen.

The CYA element here is that they’re supposedly not revisiting the key finding — disputed by all of our relevant allies since practically the day the report appeared — that Iran suspended its weapons program from 2003 to 2007. Instead, they’re inevitably going to conclude that the program was restarted in 2007. Which, frankly, might be for the best: After the Iraq WMD debacle, a well meaning lie to convince the public that our intel on Iran wasn’t also completely FUBARed and politicized would go a long way.The report reversed earlier findings that Iran was pursuing a nuclear-weapons program.
