Silence of the lambs Meghan Cox Gurdon | San Francisco Examiner Imagine if you are there. Your child is graduating and some dame from the Obama White House has turned up to give the main speech. It’s exciting! And you’re nodding and beaming proudly and glancing toward the young person for whom you’d leap in front of a train for, for whom you have groaned under the weight of private school tuition (that’s the audience Dunn was addressing), when suddenly the speaker’s voice starts talking about Chairman Mao.

Vitter dodges question about interracial marriage in Louisiana. Although both Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) and Sen. Mary Landrieu (D) have publicly condemned Justice of the Peace Keith Bardwell for refusing to issue marriage licenses to interracial couples, Sen. David Vitter (R) has stayed noticeably silent. (ThinkProgress contacted his office, but we did not receive a response.) Blogger-activist Mike Stark caught up with […] Although both Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) and Sen.

The recent news of the healthful benefits of frequent internet usage seems to be founded on the same sort of stuff the 2008 Presidential Election was. Maybe that’s because I have the jaundiced view of someone who tries to find something insightful to frequently write that will be worthy of your readership. I try to be meaningful and not sound like a broken record. Unfortunately the daily news is a daily outrage therefore it seems that I fall into the predictable pattern of being outrageous.

The question posed in the headline is a good one. Because after White House Communications Director Anita Dunn blasted FOX “News” last week, the cable channel has been acting as if this sort of thing has never happened before. Maybe a more truthful way to report it would be to say that this is the first time it was completely justified.

The White House will lose its war against Fox News.  The White House’s extraordinary assault on the Fox News Channel will end in tears – and not for Rupert Murdoch, Fox’s owner. The Obama administration has embarked on a high-risk strategy of shooting the messenger, in effect blaming its plummeting poll ratings on alleged political bias at the number one 24-hour cable news network . As Anita Dunn, the Mao-quoting White House communications director put it in an interview with The New York Times: “We’re going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent.

Glenn Beck today educated his TV viewers about what Mao Zedong , so admired in the Obama White House, was really like. Beck previously revealed that White House communications director  Anita Dunn (shown above) reveres the Chinese Hitler as a political philosopher. Mao, according to Beck, urged communist leaders in East Germany to build the Berlin Wall. Mao was also enthusiastic about executions, child labor, torture, and organized public denunciation sessions for political figures who fell out of favor with him.  But in the brief segment, Beck didn’t have time to go into detail about Mao.

Over at Politico, our friend Richard Albert takes it to the Obama administration and their, ahem, illegitimate war on Fox News .  Here’s the money line: Legitimacy is a broad concept that folds within itself dimensions of morality, legality and divinity. And here’s the clincher: That Fox News enjoys popular support of such immense breadth and depth suggests that it also enjoys sociological legitimacy- something that the White House risks losing if it retains its antagonistic posture toward Fox News.

After decades of living under the delicate hand of ABCNBCCBSCNNNPRNYTWP, liberals have adopted an aversion to the news, or at least the news that comes from those that are not members of the traditional alphabet news fraternity. To borrow a phrase from the movie classic Animal House , liberals have embraced the Dean Wormer policy by attempting to place Fox News and Matt Drudge on double secret probation.Matt Drudge is being taken to task for highlighting on his website the weakness of the U S dollar while Fox has been famously slammed by the triumvirate of Robert Gibbs, Anita Dunn and Rahm Emmanuel for simply criticizing and parsing.

By John Allison III: Oh and how the liberal lapdog press played right into the hands of their master manipulators ! But what happens when they can’t control a player in the news arena? We on the right have long argued the relationship between the Obama campaign (and now administration) and the mainstream media was more like puppeteer and marionette than the public servant and public watchdog envisioned by our founders when they insisted on the freedom of the press in our 1st Amendment.

Seeing that the running meme in the political Blogosphere is the fact that Obama White House is trying to marginalize its critics. I thought I would post a very well done speech : (H/T to HotAir for Video and Transcript) Transcript: In 1969 and during the first half of 1970, I was a wet-behind-the-ears, 29-year-old staff aide in the West Wing of the Nixon White House. I was working for the wisest man in that White House, Bryce Harlow, who was a friend of President Johnson, as well as the favorite staff member of President Eisenhower, and President Nixon’s first appointee.

First, we have the White House’s communications director declaring war on Fox News: “Let’s not pretend they’re a news network,” White House communications director Anita Dunn said on CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” firing the latest salvo in the long-simmering feud. “Fox News often operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party,” Dunn said. “What I think is fair to say about Fox, and certainly the way we view it, is that it really is more a wing of the Republican Party,” she added.

Last week we suggested that Glenn Beck would make a great host for Saturday Night Live for a variety of reasons, but primarily because I suspect it would be hard for anyone but Glenn Beck to do Glenn Beck justice. To wit: Earlier this week Beck renamed the red phone he has installed on set so that the White House can call him directly the ‘Mao Hotline’. Alas, no one at the White House has been dialing his digits, so today introduced a new line of communication: carrier pigeons.

THINK PROGRESS For the past couple of weeks, Fox News’ Sean Hannity has been aggressively pushing the talking point that the Obama White House is compiling an “ enemies list .” That wild accusation came in response to Obama communications director Anita Dunn’s suggestion that Fox News operates as a “ communications arm ” of the GOP. “I mean, is this an enemies list? Seems like it to me,” Hannity said on his program last Wednesday. “They want to come after the Fox News Channel,” the right-wing pundit complained.

Media Matters — the Soros-financed source for left-wing talking points — offers the lamest imaginable defense for Anita Dunn’s profession that Mao Tse-Dung was one of her “favorite political philosophers” In fact, Dunn actually said that Mao and Mother Theresa were “the two people that I turn to most to basically deliver a simple point, which is, you’re going to make choices!” Um, just a thought; Is there someone who isn’t a mass-murdering Communist you could have used to “deliver

Tantalizing but frustrating, as it’s only a partial list; without the full attendance sheet, it’s impossible to say definitively that the most transparent administration evah was playing only to its cheerleaders. Even so, while Gloria Borger isn’t particularly ideological as far as I know, there’s little question where Robinson, Dowd, and especially Ifill stand. On Monday, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow were among several people who attended an off-the-record briefing with Pres.

Attacking Fox News and defending President Obama is a family affair for Anita Dunn, the White House communications director who has blasted Fox as an arm of the Republican Party and talked about “controlling” the news media. Obama’s media control is married to the attorney defending his eligibility to be President She’s married to Robert Bauer, the chief of the political law group at Perkins Coie, the Seattle law firm hired by the White House to defend Obama in court cases challenging his “natural born” citizenship status and thus, his eligibility under the U.S.

Best-selling author and WND senior staff writer Jerome Corsi says the recent attacks by White House and media “minions” on Fox News and others, including some harsh descriptions of The Obama Nation author himself, simply prove a central contention of his book. “Let’s face it: the Obama White House is proving itself to be ideologically driven by the political far left, validating a central thesis of ‘The Obama Nation,’” Corsi writes in a WND commentary today.

This via The NY Post : Controversial Fox News host Glenn Beck is now travelling with an armed guard. Guests at the other day’s preview of Broadway musical “Memphis” noticed Beck was closely accompanied — even to the men’s room — by a bodyguard with a gun partially concealed under his jacket. I’m glad to hear my man Glenn is well protected. We need him now more than ever, and you know there’s a lot of people who would love to shut him up — permanently.

Wow, everywhere you look in this administration, there is a tangled spiderweb of connections from 1 person to the next. Anita Dunn’s husband, is the head for the law firm who is fighting all the birth certificate challenges. Senator Lamar Alexander is set to deliver the following remarks on the floor of the Senate in just a few minutes, pleading with the president to take a less adversarial approach in his dealings with Congress, the media, and American industry and banks. “As any veteran of the Nixon White House can attest, we’ve been down this road before and it won’t end well. An ‘enemies list’ only denigrates the Presidency and the Republic itself,” Alexander will say.

In the world we live in, the one where we include Fox News among our news (sorry, Mr. Gibbs) sources, we would naturally think that much of the country is aware of the controversies of radicals in the Obama Administration. But, sadly, this is not the case. Reports of what should be huge news events, like the ACORN videos, Van Jones and Anita Dunn’s war on Fox are under-reported or not reported at all in much of the now-fringe media like ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, and most newspapers.
10/21/2009
Anita Dunn , the White House communications director who is leading the Obama administration charge against Fox has revealed that the decision to become “more aggressive in both protecting our position and in delineating our differences with those who were attacking us” was a “fundamental” one that was made in August. Short version: right around the time the health care bill was being dangerously derailed by the town hall-ers and Van Jones was being done in by Glenn Beck .

“The chief function of propaganda is to convince the masses, whose slowness of understanding needs to be given time so they may absorb information; and only constant repetition will finally succeed in imprinting an idea on their mind.” “Adolph Hitler, Mein Kampf (1925) Hitler came to power in 1933 on a plurality vote of 43.9% which gave the Nazis the majority of seats in the German Parliament. Through the use of various contrived crises, Hitler managed to consolidate his power by seizing control of the German mainstream media.

At a high school graduation, White House Communications Director Anita Dunn lists Mao and Mother Theresa as two of her favorite philosophers. This just goes to show the horrible choices Obama chooses for jobs inhis Administration. We almost had Van Jones, the self-described Communist radical who is a black Supremacist and who stated that white polluters and white environmentalists are working together to pollute the neighborhoods of people of color, as the Green Job Czar.

Well, that’s what she said. Is controlling the media the same as controlling the people, though?

The “most transparent administration in history” is having a real problem with Fox News. Which makes them the most un-focused administration in history. Even the most die-hard members of the Kool-Aid Brigade should be asking “Don’t you people have more important things to do?” Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The economy. Unemployment. The Deficit. And a host of other vital issues facing America, and the White House is whining that it doesn’t think Fox News is treating them fairly? Apparently, in the Obama administration, it’s acceptable to try and silence your critics.
