JERUSALEM (CNN) - Iran must stop enriching uranium completely - not simply take it abroad, said Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Thursday, in Israel’s first response to a draft agreement that would allow Iran to send its uranium to Russia and France for enrichment. Delegations from Iran, France, Russia, the United States and the International Atomic Energy Agency - the United Nation’s nuclear watchdog group - met in Vienna this week to work out details of a tentative deal reached in early October.

It turns out that some of the male taxi drivers in Puebla, Mexico are pigs. It might even be the case that most have boundary issues when it comes to their female passengers, indulging in constant leering, harassing, and propositioning. So the city invested some money and, following the lead of other municipalities all over the world, created a fleet of women-only Pink Taxis.

The United Arab Emirates, “in a step coordinated with Washington,” recently agreed to increase oil exports to China from the current 50,000 barrels per day to 150,000-200,000, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday . The move is viewed as an Obama administration strategy to reduce Beijing’s reliance on Iran to meet its growing energy needs. It appears to be a move designed to contain Iran’s sphere of influence in the long run by offering China an alternative source of energy, therby reducing Iran’s leverage and influence.

Common sense dictates that if you have a nuclear deterrent, you need to verify that it works. If your enemies suspect that it doesn’t (or won’t) work, deterrence fails and nuclear war evolves from a distant threat to a frightening possibility. The United States hasn’t tested a nuclear device since the end of the Cold War. We haven’t designed a new weapon since the introduction of the Peacekeeper missile and it’s powerful Mk-21 warheads during the Reagan administration.

Dick Cheney last night…. So among my other concerns about the drift of events under the present administration, I consider the abandonment of missile defense in Eastern Europe to be a strategic blunder and a breach of good faith. It is certainly not a model of diplomacy when the leaders of Poland and the Czech Republic are informed of such a decision at the last minute in midnight phone calls. It took a long time and lot of political courage in those countries to arrange for our interceptor system in Poland and the radar system in the Czech Republic.

There is a dangerous pattern connecting the events happening in and around Pakistan today. Unless we can see this larger picture, we will be overwhelmed by the fallout and our detractors like the US will have fulfilled their agenda for this nuclear capable country. The roots of this US agenda go back to Musharraf’s hasty embrace of the US “war on terror”. What was not realised at the time was the psychological trauma the US had undergone as a result of 9/11, which had led to the bolstering of the already suspicion-tinted view the US had of the Muslim world.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee looked in the mirror, saw the president of the United States, and awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize to Barack Obama. One is tempted to vary Rainer Maria Rilke (“Love consists in this, that two solitudes protect and touch and greet each other”) and suggest that this was the meeting of two narcissisms. A conspiratorial view of the world is frequently inaccurate, exposing more the paranoia of the view rather than the reality of the world. The sequential destruction of Muslim nations — Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, (and Iran is on the list) — may or may not be a conspiracy hatched in Washington D.C., but it is becoming an international reality. It is no secret that the United States and Europe, with varying degree of mutual cooperation and some make-believe internal discord, superintend the sequential destruction of Muslim nations.
