Representative Anthony Weiner, a New York Democrat who sits on the House Health Subcommittee, has released an ” internal study ” that seeks to expose the hypocrisy among Republicans who oppose the idea of a public, government-sponsored health plan. Weiner’s study lists the names of 151 members of Congress who receive Medicare benefits. The study also lists 55 Republicans who benefit from Medicare, but who oppose a public plan — which would provide a new, low-cost health insurance option for millions of uninsured Americans.

Here’s the petition to sign calling for Democrat Senator/girlfriend slasher Hiram Monserrate to be fired. Clearly, Monserrate has major problems even beyond the alleged attack on his girlfriend, problems Democrats knew he had before they chose him to run for political office. It’s too bad this known ticking time bomb was even considered by the Democrat bosses.

Is there a better example of the need for independent news sources such as monroerising.com than today’s article about Democrats complaining that Legislature Republicans sent campaign mailings out on the 2010 County budget? Jill Tererri faithfuilly reports Assemblyman Joe Morelle’s comments about the mailing: “This is the equivalent of insider trading for political purposes,” said county Democratic Chairman Joseph Morelle.

October 21, 2009 Dear Fellow Virginians, We are under two weeks to go! I’m starting to draft this Compass flying back from Roanoke after visiting Franklin County on Tuesday, October 20th. It sure is gorgeous flying Southwest as the colors continue to change! Unfortunately, many televisions across Virginia are not looking so gorgeous in our race, as our opponent has ratcheted up his negative attacks. He is moving from merely twisting votes into far-fetched characterizations of my record, to flat out mis-truths.

Democratic Sens. Liz Krueger of Manhattan, Suzi Oppenheimer of Mamaroneck, Westchester County, Neil Breslin of Albany, and David Valesky of Syracuse called on fellow Democratic Sen. Hiram Monserrate to resign. The four senators issued statements today, following a Queens judge’s decision Thursday that Monserrate was guilty of a misdemeanor after being accused of slashing his girlfriend in the face.

Democratic County Legislature Candidate Mike Condello has been caught in a campaign lie — he claimed to be a life long Henrietta resident, despite the fact that he owned a home in Gates from 2005 until 2008. From YNN.com : Republicans are questioning a recent flyer Condello mailed to residents claiming to be a lifelong resident of Henrietta. Truth is, he owned a home and lived in the town of Gates for three years. “One of the most basic things in elective office is to have some trust and to try and convey that to the voters.

Democrats love to tell us what to do while they go ahead and do the opposite. That is no more so evident than when it comes to lifestyles and gun control. At the top of the hypocrisy pile goes Michael Moore for putting out a movie against capitalism (had having it fail miserably at the box office) and then we discover that this anti-capitalist defender of the working class and the oppressed……………hired NO UNION MEMBERS for his film Michael Moore, champion of the working class, used non-union

As conservatives continue to gleefully hurl javelins Barack Obama’s way for his failed bid to even get his adopted hometown of Chicago on the podium for the 2016 Summer Olympics, it’s worth noting Colorado had a viable Plan B that U.S. organizers rejected earlier this year. Denver sports organizers and winter sports heavyweights in places like Vail wanted to make a bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics, but the Colorado Springs-based United States Olympic Committee – apparently unable to walk and chew gum at the same time – decided to focus fully on Chicago .

Dangerous waters? The article in last Sunday’s Spectrum, ”A shift of focus in Pattaya”, is yet another rosy portrayal and whitewash of the real Pattaya. I was treated for two eye infections after swimming in waters off Pattaya beaches. The doctor who treated me said she treats two or three patients a day, locals and tourists alike, for the same problem. The water is so polluted and the bacteria count so high that she wonders why no one does anything about it.I trained a pair of binoculars on a few boats offshore at night from a friend’s beachfront condo – both fishing and pleasure craft.

Via Glenn , an anti-gun State Senator in North Carolina shoots an intruder in his home . Maybe he wants to reconsider his position. UPDATE: It seems this is a mistake. This Democrat is NRA A-rated an is endorsed. People should check shit before saying crap, and I should know better than to link to forums without following the old mantra of “trust but verify.” UPDATE: Instapundit has corrected the record, and for the record, I meant folks on forums should check their facts before jumping the gun.

Our founding fathers believed a free and independent press – which would serve as a watchdog protecting the nation from the lies, corruption, mismanagement, and demagoguery of politicians – would be utterly essential for a functioning democracy . It would be nice if we had one. The fact is that going back decades, the media have become anything but either “independent” or a “watchdog.” Rather than guarding and protecting the truth, they have become the “lapdogs” of the left, licking the faces of Democrats and turning viciously on Republicans, without regard to the truth or the facts.

A message from the National LP… Reagan not serious about cutting government, says Redpath During the 2008 primary, many Republican presidential candidates claimed to be like former President Ronald Reagan. This was apparently intended to mean that they supported small government. I recently listened again to this speech promoting free enterprise, which Ronald Reagan gave in 1977 (before he was elected president).

Time for Real Debate on Black Gun Crime in London October 1, 2009 by BNP News Filed under National News Leave a comment The time has come for a realistic debate on the root causes of black gun crime which is rapidly spiralling out of control in London. The latest initiative of the Metropolitan Police’s Trident campaign — which specifically targets the black community — is aimed at persuading teenage black girls not to hide guns for their boyfriends.

Saturday October 3, 2009 . . . . Alrighty then, here we go. . . .off and running. . . .First off and up. . .It’s Michigan vs. Michigan State weekend, nuff said! Go Wolvies, a program that is on it’s way back up to where it belongs in terms of it’s stature and it’s record. I’m geeked. . . . .And for today, after the week that this country went through, it’s time to cut loose with some entirely snarky, completely cynical, at least for me, laugh out loud shit. . . .

By Heather Crooks and Liars Rachel Maddow and Sen. Bernie Sanders discuss the GOP’s hypocrisy when now claiming to be the great champions of Medicare after years of railing against it. MADDOW: Belated salvo in the scare the bejesus out of elderly voters so they‘ll put you back in power regardless of whether you‘re telling the truth war is an editorial in the conservative newspaper, “The Washington Times,” and it screams “Death Panels by Proxy”—ostensibly argues that the so-called Baucus bill on health reform encourages doctors to withhold health care from Medicare patients.
