Guest Post By C.L. Smith C.L. Smith aka “Leonidas” is a frequent, right of center commenter on The Moderate Voice and has been invited as a Guest Voice. ********** Well President Obama tried to muzzle Fox News yet again but this time as the Red State blog puts it, “ White house tries to muzzle media; draws back bloody stump “. So this administration had what passes for a brainstorm among that group: now that they’ve made it clear that they disapprove of one particular news network, why, there would be nothing stopping them from stepping up their attempts to marginalize said network.

ALG Serves Notice on MIAC: Stop Stonewalling The Missouri Highway Patrol may have deliberately deceived ALG in its response to the group’s Sunshine Law request. Anita Dunn on “Neil Armstrong Journalism” Barack Obama wanted the opportunity to go on all of the Sunday talk shows to offer his best arguments for his policies, unhampered by the inconvenience of little things like ‘facts.’ The Overnights from NetRight Nation This week Adam Bitely highlights the new FTC rules for the blogosphere.

The legendary Bear Bryant (I think there is some sort of rule that says you have to write “the legendary” if you are going to write “Bear Bryant”) once said, “Offense sells tickets; defense wins championships.” That’s in football (it works for basketball, too, but I digress. . .)—in politics, however, I think it is offense that wins. Playing defense, as best I can tell, wins very little. So, in sports, I applaud good defense; in politics, I cheer for offense.

The brass knuckle tactics Team Obama uses against their perceived enemies is making some democrats nervous . I can’t imagine why they don’t want to be perceived as being on the side of the Great Divider. A White House effort to undermine conservative critics is generating a backlash on Capitol Hill — and not just from Republicans. “It’s a mistake,” said Rep. Jason Altmire, a moderate Democrat from western Pennsylvania.

Yay for Cronyism Fox News Robert (Bob) Bauer, the top lawyer for the Democratic National Committee and personal lawyer to President Obama and his chief campaign counsel, is emerging as the top candidate to replace Greg Craig as White House Counsel, Fox News has learned. Senior White House officials declined to comment on Bauer’s future status with the White House. But Democrats close to the situation said Bauer is under serious consideration as Craig’s replacement.

“White House Communications Director Anita Dunn’s husband is emerging as the top candidate to replace Greg Craig as White House counsel, Fox News has learned.”"Dunn’s husband, Bob Bauer, is President Obama’s personal lawyer and a former counsel to his campaign, as well as the top lawyer for the Democratic National Committee.”"Senior White House officials declined to comment, but

Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but there is an incredible arrogance in the Omama Administration telling a Democratic candidate for governor of Virginia that, if he loses the election, it’s because he had the audacity to not jump the way they said to jump during his campaign: A senior administration official said Deeds badly erred on several fronts, including not doing a better job of coordinating with the White House.

. . Obama’s Third World Press Rant By Wesley Pruden October 23rd, 2009 WASHINGTONTIMES.COM Throwing rotten eggs at “them lyin’ newspapers” has always been great sport in America, and sometimes even effective politics. But it has to be done with wit and humor, which may be above Barack Obama’s pay grade.

A report at the link below says the effort of the White House to undermine conservative critics is generating a backlash on Capitol Hill. The backlash is not just from Republicans but also from moderate Democrats. “It’s a mistake,” said Rep. Jason Altmire, a moderate Democrat from western Pennsylvania.

It comes from today’s classic Krauthammer column on the White House’s war on Fox: Defend Fox from the likes of Anita Dunn? She’s been attacked for extolling Mao’s political philosophy in a speech at a high school graduation. But the critics miss the surpassing stupidity of her larger point: She was invoking Mao as support and authority for her impassioned plea for individuality and trusting one’s own choices.

Too bad fox news refuses to be more like them The Washington Times Throwing rotten eggs at “them lyin’ newspapers” has always been great sport in America, and sometimes even effective politics. But it has to be done with wit and humor, which may be above Barack Obama’s pay grade. Thomas Jefferson despised newspapers, with considerable justification. They printed libels and slanders about him that persist to the present day.

If your idea of fun is trying to save America from the ills of President Obama and “pro-Obama forces,” then there’s a new computer game for you. The multi-player online game “2011: Obama’s Coup Fails,” is set in a time where Obama is trying to toss out the Constitution, ban guns and merge the U.S.

Sexual Shamelessness Andrew Klavan on PJTV has an excellent video skewering our culture’s libertine sexual shamelessness. Klavan tends to fall on the libertarian side of things, but I have to agree with the gist of his arguments here. After successfully lampooning Letterman and Polansky, showing them for the shameful cad and the predator they are, respectively, Klavan points out the real result of sexual shamelessness: A world without sexual shame soon becomes a world not, unfortunately, of endless physical pleasure, but of unrestrained predators, victims without recourse, and children without hope or support.

White House Communications Director Anita Dunn set the political world on fire with her comment on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” Oct. 11 that Fox News was “a wing of the Republican Party,” adding “let’s not pretend they’re a news organization like CNN is.” Fox commentator Glenn Beck mounted a counterattack, going after …
