Several readers have requested that I post more often on Cuba.  But because nothing of substance is really taking place on the U.S.-Cuba policy front, it has been a bit since I penned on the matter.  This past week, however, Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) has reportedly sent a letter to the Obama Administration asking them to remove Cuba from the state sponsors of terrorism list.  With that gem in hand, it is time for a Cuba post.

Robert Baer’s assertion that the US’s contact with Jundullah was confined to intelligence gathering is directly contradicted by a May, 2007 article in the Telegraph, which states : “However, the CIA is giving arms-length support, supplying money and weapons, to an Iranian militant group, Jundullah, which has conducted raids into Iran from bases in Pakistan.

The news of an impending resolution to Honduras’s coup was hopeful, but apparently too good to be true.  Today it’s clear that nothing has been decided, that rightful, democratically elected President Manual Zelaya is still stuck in the Brazilian Embassy in Tegucigalpa, and that the negotiations to resolve the crisis are now totally dead.

Wikipedia defines an Agent Provocateur as “ … a person employed by the police or other entity to act undercover to entice or provoke another person to commit an illegal act. More generally, the term may refer to a person or group that seeks to discredit or harm another by provoking them to commit a wrong or rash action. ” It looks like the attempt at a coverup is blowing up. This should be interesting to watch.
