You’ve all read the hyped-up, coffee-filter crowd repeating the figures in the health care debate to make you scared. The reality is, very little of what the Obamacare pushers have to say means anything. Other than, that is, to make you afraid of your country, be as ashamed of your country as they are, and [...]

“A recent bulletin from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that minorities in Chicago were four times more likely to be hospitalized for swine flu infections than whites. To CDC, this disparity reflects higher rates of asthma and diabetes, not genetics or a failure of health care providers to understand minority patients. Yet the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services put race-based health care regimes in place more than two decades ago.

“Regardless of how President Barack Obama’s health-care agenda plays out in Congress, it has not been a success in public opinion. Opposition to ObamaCare has risen all year. According to the Gallup polling organization, the percentage of Americans who believe the cost of health care for their families will ‘get worse’ under the proposed reforms rose to 49% from 42% in just the past month. The percentage saying it would ‘get better’ stayed at 22%.” (10/26/09)

Of all the political tricks the Democrats play, the compassion card has got to be one of the worst to defeat. It’s use isn’t very hard to comprehend. When trying to sell a program they know is going to be a costly disaster in all ways except as their next power grab, the left resorts to [...]

Dingy Harry Reid has an ObamaCare bill that he’s ready to bring to the full Senate. Right now, the Democrats and media have this thing all sugar-coated, such as a public option that individual states can opt out of. I’m not buying it. There’s a catch somewhere. Let’s wait a day or two and see what details leak out, then we’ll have a better understanding of what’s really in this behemoth. Senate health care bill to include public option – Yahoo! OBAMA TAXES PACEMAKERS, HEART VALVES By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN Published on DickMorris.com on October 26, 2009 The more fiscal details of the health care bills emerge, the more appalling they seem. The Senate Finance Committee bill includes a broad provision taxing all manner of medical devices. This tax includes such frivolous luxuries as pacemakers, stents, artificial heart valves, defibrillators, automated wheelchairs, mechanized artificial limbs, replacement hips and knees, surgical gurneys, laparoscopic equipment, and the like.

Higher Insurance Premiums Government meddling in the health insurance market leads to higher premiums. States which have instituted ObamaCare-like programs in recent decades have seen their average insurance premiums skyrocket2: In Kentucky, for example, average premiums shot up an astounding 36-165 percent after a 1994 government-managed reform measure was passed,3 Washington state residents saw a premium increase of up to 78 percent4 as a result of a similar program.

An interesting piece on last night’s 60 Minutes reporting that Medicare’s administrative costs total $ 60 billion per year, that’s more than what it costs to administer every private insurance plan in the country: Watch CBS News Videos Online That’s what we have to look forward to if we get government-run health care.

Oct.26, 2009 in barack obamaMaybe one of you enlightened Democrat Obamabots can explain to me what the Hell your Prezzident is doing. With the meltdown of the banking industry he is concentrating on Obama care, and not just Obamacare but Obamacare with penalties on business.OK if he inherited all these problems you would think he would prioritise these catastrophic conditions created by 20 years of DEMOCRAT AND REPUBLICAN mispheasence.http://www.usnews.com/articles/opini…recession.html America is incredibly indebted.

He hasn’t even sent the bill to CBO to be scored yet so I’m not sure what we’re supposed to react to here, aside from the left’s success in getting something with a public plan to the floor which (a) may not even have 60 votes behind it and (b) is almost guaranteed to lose The One’s very small fig leaf of bipartisan support as Olympia Snowe walks away (skip ahead to 5:00 for his comments on that). Politically, I don’t see how he had any choice except to cave to progressives.

But when one imagines what a post-reform American healthcare system might look like , there are two notable aspects in which it would still differ greatly from other OECD nations. First, American doctors may pay as much as a hundred times more for malpractice insurance than their foreign counterparts, and will likely be sued several times during a career. Democratic healthcare reform would mostly leave this system in place. But there is reason to believe that medical-liability reform could produce big cost savings.

Poring over the details of the 1,501-page health care bill that came out of Sen. Max Baucus’ Finance Committee, it’s clear that the financing is so full of smoke and mirrors that one has to wear a respirator and hard hat to get through it.But by the time one gets to the end of the bill, estimated to cost $829 billion over 10 years, clarity emerges - the Democrats plan to finance their expanded government care on the backs of America’s middle-class taxpayers.Related Posts:ABC — Dem Senator Warns

-By Warner Todd Huston The news is full of the behind closed doors deals being made by Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Pelosi but all is not harmonious in the land of healthcare “reform.” One example of this is the fight amongst Democrats over abortion funding in Obamacare. Despite claims to the contrary, abortion will be funded by these various healthcare bills floating about in Congress.

In the Washington Post , Robert J. Samuelson explains in the “ Public Plan Mirage ” how the so-called “public option” contained in congressional health-care reform bills is just a gimmick : “It pretends to control costs and improve access to quality care when it doesn’t.” Steve Chapman wrote earlier about the “‘ Public Option’ Health Care Scam .” In other news, a study by PriceWaterhouseCoopers found that the provisions in the Senate health care “reform” bill sponsored by Sen.

There is a wild three-way race going going on in the 23rd Congressional district in NY State, pitting liberal Republican Dede Scozzafava and Democrat Bill Owens both of whom have been endorsed by ACORN against the Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman. Scozzafava and Owens share many of the same positions on major issues such as Obamacare’s public option, the Porkulus bill and Card Check. Hoffman’s positions are more along the lines of a traditional conservative, he pushes fiscal responsibility and free enterprise.

It’s a standard move, in the game of politics, for each new administration to blame its predecessor for whatever ails the country. Conversely, it is just as standard to take credit for anything that may alleviates existing problems even when the time-frame of such cure makes it obvious that whichever the new administration it had little or nothing to do with it. The blame game, however, can only stretch so far and only for so long. At a certain point people expect solutions.

Jim sent this in: On Sunday night, the popular news show 60 Minutes aired a disturbing segment on corruption within government health care programs that already exist — Medicare and Medicaid. The importance of this newsworthy event is that finally a major news organization was asking the right questions regarding the current epidemic of fraud and abuse within the government health care bureaucracy which is a preview of what can be expected once the federal government takes control of Americans’ overall health care.

The abortion issue, you may recall, was described by George Stephanopoulos as “the gravest threat” to the health reform bill . The largest concentration of Democratic NO votes on health care reform are because of the abortion issue. So, naturally, in an article about Speak Pelosi’s efforts to rally votes for ObamaCare, the New York Times actually talked about other issues besides the public option as critical to passage of the bill.

Hitler and his Nazi party were sub-human mass murderers, they were also Fascist. While all fascist governments are authoritarian, and by definition severely limit the freedoms of its people have, not all fascists are Nazis. Fascism is a subset of socialism just like Communism, Maoism, and Marxism. Fascism is seen as the medium between boom-and-bust-prone liberal capitalism , with its alleged class conflict, wasteful competition, and profit-oriented egoism, and revolutionary Marxism.

The trouble is, she originally promised there would be abundant supplies by mid-October . On Sept. 13, Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services, told ABC’s This Week program that the government was on schedule to deliver an “ample supply” of swine flu vaccine by mid-October.

Obama and his sycophants in Congress and the media have been grousing about the “obscene profits” of health insurance companies — using this as justification for their slap-down of private insurers in the coming Obama Care travesty. Now Calvin Woodward has done what the MSM should have done: He checked the facts behind this assertion and found that Obama once again lied. According to Woodward’s investigation, health insurers historically see about a 6% profit margin, which is well below many other industry groups.

New York Times — Democrats Are Optimistic That Public Option Will Be Approved Writer Joseph Berger has caught the public option fever and he can’t shake it. Berger’s piece reflects a theme building steam since Harry Reid’s effort to dump Medicare costs into the deficit failed on Thursday: that Reid and President Obama will have no choice but to accept a government-run insurance plan favored by liberals. I argue in my column today that the re-emergence of a public option is not a good sign for overall Democratic aims.

Washington Examiner Political Digest Chris Stirewalt – Public option revival not a sign of strength There is great excitement on the Left because the public option has been revived in the Democrats’ health care plan. But while it may be cause to raise a glass of carbon-neutral pinot noir in Berkeley and on the Upper West Side, the renewed talk of a government-run insurance program is a sign of weakness, not strength, for President Obama’s health plan.

Genuine rights – such as freedom of speech – are not commodities to be purchased; nor does their existence require the on-going application of human labor and other resources to ensure that they are adequately supplied. Genuine rights are negative, in the sense that they demand only that each of us refrains from harassing others. Because each unit of health care requires labor and resources for its production, no one can have a ‘right’ to health-care in the same way that she can have a right to speak freely or to worship the God of her choice.

While Democrats and Administration Officials are still arguing that the almost $800 billion dollar stimulus bill was a masters-stroke that saved the country, voters are not buying it, they see the growing national debt and the continuing massive unemployment and call the porkulus bill a failure. In a Rasmussen poll released today, 31% of voters say the Porkulus bill hurt the economy, 29% say it did nothing. In other words 60% of American voters are calling the stimulus a failure.

By Erich Pratt October 26, 2009 NewsWithViews.com There’s nothing like a concentrated dose of liberalism to work like smelling salts on the American public. Here we are almost one year into the Obama presidency and gun sales are still running hot in the midst of a recession. Political novices are getting involved and taking off work to rally at Tea Parties - even to the point where nearly a million people traveled to Washington, DC in September to tell Congress and the President that they’d better start taking seriously their oath to uphold the Constitution.

Halloween just got scarier – much scarier. I’m not talking about a new Hollywood slasher film or a new line of grotesque costumes, but a possible political nightmare scenario in which the White House could be positioned to sell out U.S. sovereignty, shred the Constitution and leave you and yours to the whims of foreign powers. Flying deep under Washington’s radar is an upcoming (December) global climate change conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, under the guise of the “ United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change .” Virtually nothing has been said about it from the White House.
