Giving the keynote address to the 2009 Grantmakers in the Arts Conference last week, the chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, Rocco Landesman, gave an extremely glowing tribute to his boss, President Barack Obama. (H/t to Power Line for this find) “This is the first president that actually writes his own books since Teddy Roosevelt and arguably the first to write them really well since Lincoln.

The Caddo Parish school district in Louisiana didn’t read the fine print when they hired H-1B teachers from the Philippines — and that big mistake that will cost them some big money.Based on my latest research for Vdare the Recovery School District saves about $6,300 a year by hiring the Filipinos over American teachers. The cost per “unit of labor” sounded like a good deal for Caddo but what they didn’t realize is that there were hidden costs, like for instance, Caddo charged each Filipino teacher $1,660 for their visa (some stories say that UPI charged the Filipinos).

Rocco Landesman, the NEA (National Endowment for the Arts) chairman, said, in part: “This is the first president that actually writes his own books since Teddy Roosevelt and arguably the first to write them really well since Lincoln. If you accept the premise, and I do, that the United States is the most powerful country in the world, then Barack Obama is the most powerful writer since Julius Caesar.

Lew : So, the chairman of the NEA refers to Barack Obama as “the most powerful writer since Julius Caesar.” If this bozo meant that Obama is the most powerful presidential writer since George W. Bush, I would find no fault with that. Perhaps the president writes under a pen name. Has he claimed all of the writings attributed to “Anonymous” as his own? If so, going back to Julius Caesar would tie in to such a claim. But if Obama is writing in his own name, I can only wonder at the obviously sparse reading habits of Mr.

(HT: K-Lo and NRO ) According to Kathryn Lopez at NRO this is “ from the president’s chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts . She goes on to blog: Scott Johnson goes to town, in response . Rocco Landesman, the NEA chairman, said, in part: This is the first president that actually writes his own books since Teddy Roosevelt and arguably the first to write them really well since Lincoln. If you accept the premise, and I do, that the United States is the most powerful country in the world, then Barack Obama is the most powerful writer since Julius Caesar.

Did you know? “Barack Obama is the most powerful writer since Julius Caesar.” So says Rocco Landesman of his boss. Obama nominated the Broadway theatre producer,  minor league baseball team and racehorse owner, to chair the National Endowment for the Arts, an independent federal agency. In March, the group received an additional $50 million in “stimulus” funds. Ed Morrissey at Hot Air refers to Rocco as the “ Suck-Up award winner ” as he reports on the guy’s brazen love affair with Barack Obama.

Rocco Landesman, the NEA chairman, has stated that Barack Obama is “the most powerful writer since Julius Caesar.” That doesn’t mean he is a good writer. Take, for example, his puffed up tome “The Audacity of Hope.” I found the book to be poorly written. On page 78, there are sentences that have no verb. There are no references for any of the points he cites. The book contains at least one outright lie, on page 188, where he directly blames the Bush tax cuts for the rising deficit even though it is widely documented that federal tax revenues have increased since the tax cuts.

Michelle Malkin: Obama’s FCC, liberal churches, and the “media justice” mob That would be the “socialized” churches, right?  Media Justice?  Is that the Obamedia?  Oh.  That’s right.  It’s the FCC with their Fairness Doctriine…more of that “socialized” broadcast tomfoolery. My syndicated column today (reprinted below) probes the FCC/left-wing church alliance to silence conservative critics of illegal immigration through “hate speech” regulation. Tip of the iceberg.

Rocco Landesman, Obama’s hand picked chairman of the NEA said something silly: “…Barack Obama is the most powerful writer since Julius Caesar.” Um, Rocco, if that is your name, aren’t you forgetting something?: If I were you, I’d be anticipating a round-house kick before long. I was also going to mention something about the good judgment of the NEA by noting that they paid $15,000.00 for a picture of a crucifix submerged in a glass of urine, but I googled it for the date (1987) and

‘Barack Obama is the most powerful writer since Julius Caesar’ – NEA Chairman (worship alert)Drudge ^Posted on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 9:45:38 AM by ScythianI’m amazed the NEA Chairman can make such a statement since Obama is hiding everything he published.*****Refhttp://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2372805/posts*****

HotAir makes the point that Caesar wasn’t necessarily the best thing for Rome:What is it about the National Endowment for the Arts and its suck-ups? First, Yosi Sergant tries transforming the NEA into an Obama campaign office, and now the head of the agency tells people that Barack Obama is the most powerful writer evah … or almost evah, except for that guy who became a dictator, seizing power “

Ok, let’s be honest with ourselves.  Doyle and Barrett want the Mayor of Milwaukee to take the reins of the failing Milwaukee Public Schools System.  It is well-known that Doyle is not shy about praising Barrett about being “his guy” to succeed him as the next Democratic Governor of the State of Wisconsin. Pardon me for asking, but if Barrett’s out running for Governor for most of next year, who the hell is supposed to be overseeing MPS? Milwaukee’s mayor would have the power to not only appoint the city school system’s superintendent but also set its annual tax levy under a legislative proposal Gov.

I arrived to learn that Bill O’Reilly claimed I was “afraid” to talk to him about the hateful crap his colleagues at Fox are peddling. Sorry Bill, I was aloft, not afraid. Actually, I’ve enjoyed the times O’Reilly has had me on his show. He’s also a Mets fan, which counts for something with me.But, please.
